Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to describe Indonesian language interference in @Nadiatilem's Tiktok video which discusses "Real Talk: Why is South Korea More Advanced Than Indonesia?". This research aims to explain the forms of Indonesian language interference into Betawi and English spoken by Nadia in this Tiktok video. To determine the interference in this article, the author uses a qualitative descriptive method and the source is the Tiktok @Nadiatilem video. The technique used to generate data is the listening technique. The main data is Nadia Tilem's speech. The theory used in this study is Abdul Chaer's theory (1995) which states that if a language changes in connection with the contact of that language with other language elements that occur in bilingual speakers. The conclusion of this research is that interference often occurs because of the lack of mastery of one language or the utterance is sounded with an element of accident. Abstract

One way to assist students in the language learning process is by using textbooks. There is a difference in learning achievement before and after implementing literacy-based thematic textbooks with a contextual approach for students. This study aims to determine the quality and relevance of the content used in the teaching and learning process. The method employed in this research is qualitative descriptive method by analyzing the content and describing data regarding the suitability of A1 level material based on the CECRL assessment in the textbook "S’il Vous Plaît". The analysis results of the "S’il Vous Plaît" textbook indicate that it is 90% suitable based on the Lopez analysis theory. Additionally, the percentage of suitability based on CECRL A1 level includes: (1) Listening skills 96%, (2) Speaking skills 82%, (3) Reading skills 90%, (4) Writing skills 77%.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the significant differences in the results of students' biographical text writing skills who use the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by ChitChop media in class X TKJ 1 students and students who use the conventional learning model (lecture) in class X TKJ 2 SMK. PGRI 2 Karawang Academic Year 2023/2024. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The design of this research is non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The population of this study was all class X students at SMK PGRI 2 Karawang, totaling 286 students. The samples for this research were class X TKJ 1, totaling 34 people and class X TKJ 2 students, totaling 34 people. The data collection method is carried out using a test method, namely with a test instrument (description). The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistical analysis techniques, namely the t-test. The results of this research show that there is a significant difference in the results of the writing skills of students who use the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by ChitChop media and students who use the conventional learning model (lecture). Based on the overall results of the students' answers, it can be seen that the increase that occurred in the control class of students' scores between the pre-test and post-test increased from an average score of 49.12 when the pre-test increased to 64.26, and in the experimental class there was an increase. from an average score of 64.41 during the pre-test to 78.53 during the post-test. So there is a significant difference in the results of the writing skills of students who were taught the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by ChitChop media and students who used the conventional learning model (lecture) in class X of SMK PGRI 2 Karawang for the 2023/2024 academic year. Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the inside outside circle (IOC) learning model on the skills of writing biographical text content for class X SMA Telukjambe Timur students. The research approach used in this research is a quantitative approach, with a research design, namely a quasi experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used in this research is nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling. This sampling technique was used based on the researcher's considerations. The samples chosen were class X Science 2 as the experimental class and class X Science 3 as the control class. The instruments used in this research are observation, tests and documentation. Data analysis used in this research is by carrying out normality tests, influence tests and hypothesis tests. The results of this research show that there is a significant influence in the use of the IOC learning model on students' biographical text writing skills. This can be seen from the average value of the experimental class which is higher than the control class. The average pretest score for students in the experimental class was 55.83 which increased to 80.42 in the posttest. The conclusion of this research is that the IOC learning model is effectively used to improve students' biographical text writing skills. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan (1) jenis-jenis prosedur penerjemahan transposisi pada novel terjemahan berjudul “Kemolekan Landak” (L’Elégance du Hérisson) oleh Jean Couteau dan Laddy Lesmana; serta (2) tingkat keberterimaan dari hasil terjemahan dalam novel tersebut. Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan metode deskripsi kualitatif dengan teknik pengambilan data purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kartu data mengacu pada teori Machali (2009), serta teori Nababan, Nuraeni, dan Sumardiono (2012). Analisis data menerapkan metode padan dengan teknik dasar pilah unsur penentu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap 100 data yang dijadikan sampel, ditemukan 4 jenis prosedur penerjemahan transposisi. Sementara itu, hasil analisis terkait keberterimaan dalam penerjemahan novel ini dinilai tinggi. Maka hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya wawasan pembaca terkait proses dan hasil terjemahan, terutama dari bahasa Prancis ke dalam bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze idioms in the novel "L'Ile des Pingouins" and their translation strategies in "Hikayat Penguin". Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected by selecting idioms from both texts and then analyzed using Fernando’s lexical idiom taxonomy and Baker and Newmark’s translation strategies. The results indicate that semi-idioms, which combine literal and figurative meanings, appear most frequently in the source text. This presents a challenge for translators to find appropriate equivalents in the target language. The analysis found that the paraphrasing strategy is most commonly used, reflecting a tendency to maintain the idiomatic meaning intact by providing a descriptive narration. This study underscores the importance of understanding the cultural and contextual nuances of both languages to achieve accurate and natural translations. Appropriate translation strategies can help preserve the meaning and nuances of idioms from the source language to the target language. These findings contribute to the field of idiom translation studies between French and Indonesian and provide practical guidance for translators in addressing the challenges of idiom translation.

Abstract

Translating a culture is difficult because the culture contained in the source language doesn’t necessarily find its equivalent in the target language. This research focuses on the equivalence analysis of cultural translation from French into Indonesian in the film Pourris Gâtés (2021) by Nicholas Cuche. The purpose of this study is to describe the acceptability and unacceptability of material culture translation contained in the film Pourris Gâtés (2021) which is reviewed and confirmed in 3 aspects, namely 1) based on the theory of translation equivalence assessment by Nababan and Nuraenin (2012). 2) in terms of translation ideology according to Venuti (2008). 3) Based on the type of modulation proposed by Vinay and Dalbernet (1995). The method used in this research i qualitative-descriptive by using listening and note-taking techniques. The results of this study show that the material culture category reviewed by (Newmark, 1988) is divided into 5 namely food/beverage, clothing, buildings, vehicles, and living equipment there are 50 case data containing material culture which there are 50 case data containing material culture which acceptable of 45 (90% case data of material culture in an acceptable manner and 5 (10%) case data containing material culture that less acceptable. Furthermore, 32 case data were found to use modulation types of translation procedures, while 18 case data were found to use translation of modulation types in the film pourris gâtés is done by translator so that the culture contained in the source language can be easily understood and equivalent in the target language (TL) even though it has to change the word structure

Abstract

The didactic aspect of women's roles is conveyed from childhood to adulthood to advance their mindset. The purpose of this research is to show and describe the didactical aspects of the role of Javanese women in Serat Sandi Wanita by K. G. P. A. Pakualam II. The method used in this research utilizes a qualitative approach, where the data used is in the form of geguritan so that the results are in the form of phrases, words, or sentences. The theory used is the theory of feminism proposed by Lori Jo Marso which states that the demands of feminism depend on the situation and conditions. The results of this study show that the socio-cultural environmental conditions taught in SSW rely on the teachings of the kraton that a woman wants to do, where a woman plays a role as a child, wife, and mother. As a child obeying parents, behaving well, making parents happy and not favoring himself. As a wife, she respects her husband with gentle words, reminds each other, and respects her husband because he is the teacher in the household. The role of women as mothers gives advice to their children, such as having to respect their husbands when they are married, and any activity must have his permission.

Abstract

This study analyzes verbal violence against female adolescents playing multiplayer online games in Jambi City from a sociolinguistic perspective. Communication features in multiplayer online games often involve verbal violence, especially against female players who are considered to have less playing skills than male players. This study uses qualitative data obtained through interviews and FGDs, which were analyzed using NVIVO. This study shows that patronizing and criticizing behavior is common among FF players. Verbal violence results in changes in player behavior. Currently, the Jambi City Government does not have a specific instrument to address the problem of verbal violence among adolescents, especially those aged 10 to 14 years.

Abstract

Abstract This research focuses on spoken language in traditional Toba wedding ceremonies, through umpama and umpasa. The main aim of this research is to identify the narrative and meaning of umpasa and umpama in Toba Batak marriages. This research uses a qualitative approach, by observing, analyzing the process, and interpreting umpasa and umpama at the Toba tribe's traditional wedding which has been chosen by the author. The results of the research show that the Toba Batak tribe's traditional wedding ceremonies advise using spoken language consisting of umpasa and umpama. For example, atang - lutung Tarida i Pangkona means authority. For example, there are more forms of proverbs than umpasa as poetic expressions. Both of these things have benefits even though the words are short but provide deep meaning. Keywords: Anthropolinguistics, Umpama, Umpasa
