Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation of anger to the quality of life of people who experience psychosomatic. negative emotions may cause psychosomatic disorders, including anger. These emotions affect the neurological working mechanism that activates an excessive number of neural, neuroendocrine and endocrine and attack the individuals weakest organs. By using non-probability sampling of purposive sampling type, the research was conducted on 106 college student of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung who experienced the psychosomatic disorder, based on the screening result of inventory to detect the psychosomatic disorder. The data were obtained through two scales : State-trait Anger Expression Inventory-2 (STAXI-2) (51 items; α= .819), and the quality of life scale of WHO that has been adapted (52 items; α= .863). The data were analyzed with simple linear regression test. The results show that anger has a significant correlation to the quality of life of people who experience psychosomatic, F(1, 104) = 6.063; p = .015. As the anger getting higher, quality of life on an individual who experiences psychosomatic would be getting lower, β = -.235; p = .015.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between perceived family support as a PMO and self efficacy of TB patients in BKPM Semarang Region. Perceived family support as PMO is an appraisal of TB patients about her interactions with the family that runs the PMO's role to give motivation in order to achieve healing. Self-efficacy is belief the ability to organize and manage certain action to attain a cure. The population in this study were TB patients in BKPM Semarang Region. Quantitative study with 44 TB patients were obtained through purposive sampling technique. Data collection in this study is Perceived Family Support as PMO Scale (22 aitem α = 0.906) and the Self-Efficacy Scale (20 aitem α = 0.932), which has been tested on 30 patients with TB in the BKPM Semarang Region. In data evaluation, simple analysis regresion were used. The results of this study indicate correlation value 0.550 and p = 0.000 (p<0.05). There were positive and significant correlation between perceived family support as a PMO and self efficacy. Patients who had positive perception of family support as a PMO had higher self-efficacy scores.

Abstract

Number of candidates who experienced the phenomenon of post-election stress legislature into the background of this research. Changes in the legislative council election system from the system serial number be a majority vote system gives all citizens the opportunity to become representatives in the legislative institution. The opportunity was utilized for each candidate to win the people that are willing to support him in the election, not infrequently they do everything they can to acquire it for example with political money. Efforts are sometimes not in accordance with the results obtained so make candidates be disappointed and even depressed.This qualitative research used a phenomenological approach to existentialism. The subjects were three men who was a former candidate in legislative elections in 2009. Data collection methods using depth interviews, observational methods, recording, and field notes. The result of interview transcripts and analyzed and then made to find psychological meaning, a collection of units of meaning, concept mapping, and the deepest essence of the research.Results from this study that the candidates who failed to become a member of the legislature do not always experience the soul like a lot of shocks reported. Purposes to be a member of the legislative failure is influenced by the interaction of candidates running for the background, experience and expectations developed candidacy. Abstract

Efektifitas suatu organisasi dapat dilihat dari interaksi kerja pada tingkat individual, kelompok, dan sistem-sistem organisasi yang menghasilkan output manusia dengan tingkat absensi yang rendah, perputaran karyawan yang rendah, tercapainya kepuasan kerja dan karyawan yang memiliki kewarganegaraan organisasional (OCB). Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepuasan kerja terhadap OCB, hubungan antara resiliensi terhadap OCB, serta hubungan antara kepuasan kerja dan resiliensi terhadap OCB pada karyawan Kantor Pusat PT. BPD Bali. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 187 orang dan sampel penelitian berjumlah 127 karyawan tetap Kantor Pusat PT. BPD Bali yang minimal telah bekerja selama dua tahun. Penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik proporsional sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala OCB yang terdiri dari 31 item (α=0,907), skala kepuasan kerja yang terdiri dari 38 item (α=0,93) dan skala resiliensi yang terdiri dari 39 item (α=0,959). Hasil pengujian hipotesis pertama, menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan kerja berhubungan secara positif dan signifikan terhadap OCB ditunjukkan dengan koefisien korelasi 0,583 dengan tingkat signifikansi korelasi sebesar 0,000 (α<0,05). Pengujian hipotesis kedua juga menunjukkan bahwa resiliensi berhubungan secara positif dan signifikan terhadap OCB dengan koefisien korelasi 0,522 dan tingkat signifikansi korelasi sebesar 0,000 (α<0,05). Pengujian hipotesis ketiga diketahui pula bahwa kepuasan kerja dan resiliensi secara simultan berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap OCB rxy= 0,629 dengan tingkat signifikansi korelasi sebesar 0,000 (α<0,05). Hasil pengujian diperoleh nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,396. Artinya adalah kepuasan kerja karyawan dan resiliensi memberikan pengaruh sebesar 39,6% terhadap OCB. 60,4% OCB dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain di luar variabel penelitian ini. Faktor-faktor tersebut antara lain adalah gaya kepemimpinan, persepsi keadilan, dan kecerdasan emosi.Kata Kunci : kepuasan kerja, resiliensi, Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB)

Abstract

This is an action research that aims to identify and improve classroom management skill of six homeroom teachers in a low socio-economic elementary school. Classroom management skill is defined as teacher’s ability to create and maintain a learning environment that conducive to learning. The classroom management skill is measured using an observation-based rating scales and semi-structured interviews. The findings showed that classroom management skills were lacking among the majority of participants because they did not have sufficient knowledge about classroom management and did not understand their class’ needs. After two periods of intervention, the participants’ classroom management skill is improved. It was revealed that individual coaching is more effective than training method in improving classroom management skill. Furthermore, educational background and previous professional experience influenced participants’ classroom management skill. However, participants with the relevant educational background do not automatically master classroom management skill, unless supported with professional experience.

Abstract

Kesuksesan secara psikologis seperti merasakan kepuasan, kenyamanan dan kebahagiaan dalam bekerja dibutuhkan oleh setiap pekerja, akan tetapi dalam kenyataan banyak pekerja yang mengalami stres kerja. Salah satunya  pegawai PT. Kereta Api bagian SDM DAOP IV Semarang yang memiliki tuntutan harus menangani masalah-masalah pengembangan sistem dan tata kelola ketenagakerjaan di perusahaan. Penanganan stres dapat menggunakan terapi tawa, yaitu metode terapi dengan humor dan tawa untuk membantu individu menyelesaikan masalah dan gangguan fisik maupun mental. Sampling yang digunakan adalah sampling jenuh, yang melibatkan 36 orang karyawan. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan statistik nonparametrik Mann-Whitney U-Test. Terlihat bahwa nilai p hitung berdasarkan statistik z adalah 0,000 yang lebih kecil dari taraf nyata (p<0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan data posttest antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan, dengan demikian hipotesis penelitian dapat diterima.Kata Kunci: stress kerja, terapi tawa, karyawan

Abstract

Cyberslacking in the educational context is defined as using internet in the classrooms for non-academic purpose during lectures. One of student cyberslacking scale was developed by Akbulut, Dursun, Dönmez, & Sahin through researches towards Turkey undergraduate students. This scale consists of items to measure non-academic internet access activities during lectures. Those activities are sharing, shopping, real time updating, accessing online content and gaming/ gambling. This study aims to adopt the Cyberslacking Scale of Akbulut dkk. in the context of undergraduate Indonesian students. Subjects for adopting this scale are 46 male and 156 female undergraduate university students (N=202) with age range between 18-23 years. Second order confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to analyze this scale. The results showed that dimension of sharing, shopping, real time updating, accesing online content, and gaming/gambling dimension are positively represented cyberslacking construct. Thus the cyberslacking scale can be used in Indonesian educational context.

Abstract

AbstractFor individuals with HIV/AIDS, making a decision to take a pill brings huge consequences. Taking medicine brings not only physical and psychological consequences, but also various social reactions, particularly those from family members and community. Individuals with HIV/AIDS also encountered social pressure and conflict with their environment. One might consider the pressure on the affected individuals as a challenge to continue their lives as well as resources to support them. The impact of taking medicines led individuals to give meaning to their behavior of pill taking. This qualitative study was conducted with phenomenological approach. Two women who were patients at Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang participated in this study. In collecting data, in-depth interview and observation were used. The meaning of taking medicines for patients with HIV was obtained from the subjective experience of participants in coping with pain. The results showed that participants gave meaning to taking medicines as a life saving due to her wish to see her children achieve their dreams.

Abstract

Forgiveness is considered as emotion-focused coping, whereas cognition is one aspect that is affected when someone is in a stressful situation. This study aims to examine the relationship between forgiveness with the cognitive aspect of stress. The subjects were 77 second degree students of midwifery. Data were collected using the Forgiveness Psychological Scale (43 item, α = .924) and Cognitive Aspect of Stress Scale (22 item, α = .886). The results showed a significant positive relationship between forgiveness with the cognitive aspect of stress (rxy = .504; p <.001). The higher the level of forgiveness, the better of cognitive activities in stressful situation, and conversely. Forgiveness contributed 25.4% to the prediction of cognitive aspect of stress
