Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the direct instruction model on the basic technical skills of playing the hadrah instrument among tenth-grade blind students at the Branjangan State Special Needs School in Jember. This study employed a quantitative experimental method with a "one-group pre-test post-test design." The purpose of this method was to evaluate the impact of the treatment provided by the researcher, as observed in the results obtained by comparing the conditions before and after the treatment. The sample of this study consisted of two tenth-grade blind students at the Branjangan State Special Needs School in Jember, selected using purposive sampling based on specific criteria. The results of this study indicate that blind students possess the basic technical skills necessary for playing the hadrah instrument, as evidenced by an initial pre-test score of 25%, which increased significantly after the implementation of the Direct Instruction model to 79.5%. The post-test score also increased by approximately 68%. In conclusion, the direct instruction model for teaching the basic technical skills of playing the hadrah instrument to tenth-grade blind students at the Branjangan State Special Needs School in Jember can improve their ability and expertise in understanding and mastering the lessons taught.   Keywords: Direct Instruction Model, Students with Visual Disabilities, Basic Technical Skills in Playing the Hadrah Musical Instrument

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of science learning in grade IV of SD Negeri 07 Bingin Teluk after implementing the TGT-type cooperative model using interactive media, based on whether word walls were significantly completed. This research employed a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study's results showed the initial test (pre-test) with an average value of 45.53 and the final test (post-test) with an average value of 72.81. This indicates that the average value of the final test (post-test) is greater than that of the initial test (pre-test). After being calculated using the t-test, the t_count value (4.15) was obtained which was compared with the 〖 t〗_table value with a significance level of 5% was (1.695). So the t_count value > 〖 t〗_table or 4.15 > 1.695. In conclusion, the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 07 Bingin Teluk improved significantly after implementing the TGT cooperative learning model, which utilized interactive wordwall-based media, by the 2025 academic year.   Keywords: TGT Model Implementation, Science Learning, Wordwall Media

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of the VAKT method on students with moderate intellectual disabilities' ability to recognize plane figures. The research method employed was an experimental design, specifically Single Subject Research (SSR). This study design consisted of two phases: an A-B design, where Phase A served as the baseline and Phase B served as the intervention. Data were collected during the baseline phase, which was an observational phase where students assessed their initial abilities with plane figures. The intervention phase, which followed the observation phase after the students received treatment (intervention), consisted of five sessions in the baseline phase and ten sessions in the intervention phase. Based on the study's results, a student with a moderate intellectual disability, identified as A, in grade III at SLB C TPA Jember, consistently improved during the intervention phase, reaching a maximum score in the final three sessions. The average score percentage in the baseline phase was 43.75%, while in the intervention phase it increased to 89.84%. The conclusion is that the application of the VAKT method (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Tactile) has proven effective in improving the ability to recognize plane figures.   Keywords: Understanding Planar Shapes, VAKT Method, Students with Moderate Intellectual Disabilities

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the improvement of tooth brushing skills through picture sequences among students with intellectual disabilities at Batang State Special Needs School (SLB Negeri Batang). This study employed Kemmis' 3-classroom action research model, utilizing two cycles. The results showed that in Cycle I, the average skill achievement was still below 60%, with low participation. Cycle II showed improvement through the use of interactive picture sequences, with an average skill score above 80%. In Cycle III, most students were able to perform all tooth brushing steps independently without assistance, with achievement rates ranging from 91.6 to 100%. This study concludes that the use of picture sequences is efficacious in improving self-help toothbrushing skills in children with moderate intellectual disabilities at Batang State Special Needs School (SLB Negeri Batang).   Keywords: Picture Sequence, Moderate Intellectual Disability, Tooth Brushing

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in motivating students, identify factors that influence low motivation, analyze the forms of teacher-student interactions that impact motivation, and uncover the obstacles that teachers face in their role as motivators of learning. The research method employed was a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling. The results indicate that teachers play a strategic role in fostering student learning motivation through a personalized approach, utilizing varied methods such as educational games and awarding points, as well as providing individual attention. Factors influencing low motivation include low interest in learning, lack of support from the school environment, and negative influences from the external environment. In conclusion, the role of teachers at SMK Al-Fudhola' Sungai Lilin is crucial in building student learning motivation. Teachers act not only as instructors but also as motivators, capable of arousing interest, fostering positive attitudes toward learning, and fostering student self-confidence.   Keywords: Learning Motivation, Teacher Role, SMK Al-Fudhola'

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) model on the basic arithmetic skills of seventh-grade autistic students at the Branjangan Special Needs School in Jember. The research method employed was a quantitative approach with a Single-Subject Research (SSR) design, utilizing an A-B design. The subject was a seventh-grade autistic student who exhibited difficulties in arithmetic. The results showed a significant increase from the average percentage in the baseline phase (28%–36%) to 60%–80% in the intervention phase. The absence of overlap between baseline and intervention data (0%) and the upward trend (+) indicate that the BBL model has a positive effect on improving the basic arithmetic skills of seventh-grade autistic students at the Branjangan Special Needs School in Jember.   Keywords: Brain-Based Learning, Basic Arithmetic Skills, Autistic Students

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to enhance students' competencies in applied research, data collection, and analysis, and to develop recommendations that benefit the school. The research method employed was qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques that included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study indicate: (1) a lack of respect for differences and empathy. (2) a lack of acceptance of the diversity of peers. (3) a lack of teacher training and a lack of diversity-based (multicultural) teaching materials. In conclusion, this research-based PPL can make significant contributions to institutions in developing their businesses, as well as to students in honing their analytical, problem-solving, and applied research skills.   Keywords: Research-Based Internship, Experiential Learning, Learning Implementation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the RADEC and Group Investigation learning models on students' critical thinking skills, as assessed by their level of learning motivation (high and low). The research method used was a quasi-experimental study with a 2x2 treatment-by-level analysis and two-way ANOVA analysis. This study involved eighth-grade students at SMP Islam Hidayatuttauhid Esot. The results showed that learning motivation had no significant effect on the effectiveness of both models for highly motivated students. Low-motivated students were unable to fully capitalize on the advantages of both learning models, highlighting the importance of motivational interventions in improving learning outcomes. The conclusion is that the Group Investigation learning model is more effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills than the RADEC model. The practical implication of these findings is that teachers should focus on increasing student motivation through differentiation strategies and social support to maximize the potential of these learning models.   Keywords: Group Investigation, Critical Thinking Skills, Learning Model, Learning Motivation, RADEC
