JUANG: JURNAL WAHANA KONSELING JUANG merupakan jurnal konseling yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling Universitas PGRI Palembang. Tujuan dari jurnal ini adalah mempublikasikan artikel atau karya ilmiah berupa penulisan teoritis dan praktis, serta hasil penelitian baik Mahasiswa, Guru, Dosen maupun Praktisi Bimbingan dan Konseling. Fokus artikel dalam jurnal ini adalah Konseling dan Pendidikan, diantaranya isu Pendidikan serta masalah pelayanan konseling baik di institusi Pendidikan maupun di luar institusi Pendidikan. Jurnal ini terbit enam bulan sekali yaitu pada bulan Maret dan September.

Abstract

Gender issues in multicultural counselling are receiving increasing attention in the field of guidance and counselling. In culturally diverse societies, the concept of gender is not only limited to the binary identity of male and female, but also encompasses a broader spectrum of identities. Differences in social norms, expectations and gender stereotypes across cultures can affect individuals' psychological well-being, especially for those who face a mismatch between their gender identity and prevailing social norms. Counsellors therefore play an important role in creating a safe and inclusive environment and understanding the social and cultural dynamics that influence clients' gender experiences. This research uses the literature review method, which aims to analyse theories, methods, and previous research findings related to gender issues in multicultural counselling. Through this method, the researcher was able to identify gaps in research, develop new concepts, and understand the implications of cultural diversity on counselling practice. The results showed that an in-depth understanding of cultural influences on gender roles is crucial in creating more inclusive and responsive guidance and counselling services. Multicultural counsellors should have an awareness of the social and cultural factors that shape gender identity, so as to avoid bias and support gender equality in counselling practice. With the right approach, multicultural counselling can be an effective tool in helping individuals face gender challenges and improve their psychological well-being amidst cultural diversity.

Abstract

Bullying merupakan permasalahan serius di dunia pendidikan yang berdampak negatif terhadap aspek emosional, sosial, dan akademik siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas konseling individu dengan pendekatan Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar (achievement) siswa korban bullying. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada seorang siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Muncar, Banyuwangi, yang mengalami bullying dan menunjukkan penurunan prestasi belajar serta masalah psikologis lainnya. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Proses konseling REBT diterapkan melalui tujuh tahap, mulai dari identifikasi self-talk klien hingga evaluasi keyakinan rasional dan perubahan perilaku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan REBT efektif dalam membantu korban bullying untuk mengenali dan menggantikan keyakinan irasional, meningkatkan kesejahteraan emosional, serta memulihkan semangat dan motivasi belajar. Temuan ini memperkuat peran penting REBT sebagai intervensi psikologis dalam mendukung pemulihan siswa yang mengalami trauma akibat bullying.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivan teknik self-instruction dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri narapidana kasus narkoba di Lembaga Permasyarakatan Banyuwangi. Teknik self-instruction, yang meliputi metode self-talk dan self-reflection, terbukti efektif dalam mengubah pola pikir negatif dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri individu dalam mengatasi masalah emosional, sosial, dan psikologis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, untuk mengumpulkan data terkait penerapan teknik ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknik self-instruction dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri narapidana dalam berinteraksi sosial dan mengatasi masalah pribadi yang menghambat proses rehabilitasi. Narapidana yang sebelumnya mengalami kecemasan sosial, stres, dan rasa rendah diri, menunjukkan perubahan signifikan setelah mengikuti teknik ini, dengan kemampuan untuk berpikir lebih positif dan berkomunikasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknik self-instruction efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan mendorong perubahan perilaku yang lebih adaptif pada narapidana kasus Narkoba di Lapas Banyuwangi.

Abstract

Broken homes can have a significant impact on children's psychological development, including in terms of self-confidence. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of reality techniques in group counseling to increase the self-confidence of students from broken homes. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving an experimental group that received group counseling intervention with reality techniques and a control group that did not receive intervention. The research participants were students who were identified as coming from broken homes and had low levels of self-confidence. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique (N = 5). The instrument used to measure self-confidence was a self-confidence scale, measured before and after the intervention. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test to determine the difference in significant increases before and after treatment. The results showed that group counseling with reality techniques significantly increased the self-confidence of broken home students. The implications of the study indicate the importance of psychological support for broken home students to overcome self-confidence problems.

Abstract

This study aims to increase students' learning interest through the implementation of information services using audio-visual media in class VIII.3 of SMP Negeri 57 Palembang for the 2024/2025 academic year. This research is a Guidance Service Action Research (Penelitian Tindakan Layanan/PTL) conducted in two cycles, involving 30 students as the subjects. Data analysis techniques used include percentage calculations and paired T-Test analysis. The results showed a significant increase in students' learning interest in each cycle. In the pre-test stage, the average score was 90.6 with a percentage of 57% (moderate category). After the intervention in the first cycle, the average increased to 109.4 (68%, high category), and in the second cycle, it further increased to 130.4 (82%, high category). This improvement indicates that information services delivered through audio-visual media have a positive impact on enhancing students' learning interest. Therefore, guidance and counseling services, particularly information services using audio-visual media, can be an effective strategy to foster student interest and active engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dinamika konflik psikologis yang dialami santri dalam menentukan pilihan perguruan tinggi di tengah tekanan dari pesantren dan orang tua. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif menggunakan metode studi kasus terhadap tiga santri di salah satu pesantren di Jember, Jawa Timur. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan bahwa para santri mengalami keterpaksaan dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke universitas pilihan pesantren karena faktor kedekatan keluarga dengan lembaga, bantuan finansial, serta dominasi keputusan orang tua. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan teori konflik Kurt Lewin dan teori kebutuhan Maslow. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa tekanan eksternal menyebabkan frustasi, hilangnya motivasi belajar, serta penghambatan aktualisasi diri santri. Meskipun demikian, pesantren tetap berkontribusi dalam pembentukan karakter dan moral santri. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pendekatan humanis dalam kebijakan pendidikan pesantren agar ruang dialog dan kebebasan individu dapat diakomodasi.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the readiness of adolescents to become mothers who become pregnant outside of marriage, by considering various aspects of readiness to become mothers. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The subjects of this study were two respondents with the characteristics of adolescent girls who became pregnant outside of marriage, aged 15-20 years. The data collection technique in this study used a semi-structured interview technique. The results of the study indicate that both respondents still need guidance in preparing for their new role as mothers for their unborn children. Considering that they are still minors and still need support from experienced people. The recommendation from the results of this study is that pregnant adolescents need special assistance that includes education related to pregnancy, child care, and emotional support so that they are better prepared to assume the role of parents, for the sake of their own future and the future generations of the nation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of student resilience in terms of gender and its implications in guidance and counseling services. The study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive-comparative method. The study population was students of SMAN 3 Padang City and SMAN 3 Mukomuko with a sample size of 278 students, consisting of 121 males and 157 females selected through proportional random sampling techniques. The research instrument was a resilience scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that in general the level of resilience of male students was higher than that of females, with an average resilience score of male students of 70.95% and females of 69.10%, both in the high category. Significant differences were found in the sub-variables of optimism and emotional regulation. These findings indicate that gender is a factor that influences students' ability to deal with post-disaster stress and trauma. The implications of these results direct BK teachers to design gender-responsive guidance services in order to maintain and improve students' psychological resilience in schools.
