Abstract

Adaptation or self-adjustment is a process that involves mental and behavioral aspects of a person in facing a new environment in order to achieve a balance between self-demands and the environment. This process involves efforts to overcome stress, frustration, and internal conflict. Social support is the presence and involvement of others who are able to provide feelings of security, comfort, and appreciation for students through attention, assistance, and positive relationships including social support in terms of emotional, instrumental, and effective aspects that play an important role in helping students adapt and prevent feelings of loneliness and improve students' psychological well-being. This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and the level of self-adjustment of students at the Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School in the Al-Kautsar Karang Cempaka Bluto area. The quantitative correlation method was used to determine the interaction between variables X and Y. Participants were selected using saturated sampling, consisting of 27 female students. Data analysis in this study used the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique to determine the relationship between social support and the level of student adaptation. The results of the study showed a significance value of 0.124 (p > 0.005), indicating no significant relationship between social support and student adaptation. This indicates that changes in variable X were not followed by consistent changes in variable Y in this study sample.

Abstract

Stress has developed into an increasingly common mental health issue worldwide. This study aims to use a systematic literature review (SLR) to identify the effectiveness level of various types of religious coping efforts using PRISMA 2020 by screening 20 scientific articles based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the data obtained, the most commonly used religious coping method by individuals is prayer at 25.71%, indicating the significant role of spirituality in facing challenges. Next, faith encompasses the relationship with God at 14.29%. Additionally, involvement in social support and reading the Quran reaches 11.43%, highlighting the importance of social networks. The practice of dhikr and patience each contributes 8.57% and 5.71% respectively. Fasting, prayer, gratitude, repentance, and visiting holy places also indicate the use of various approaches in coping with stress, which is relatively low at 2.86%. Factors influencing religious coping as a stress management strategy include gender, income, education, marital status, and environment. Overall, these findings indicate that spirituality and religiosity play an important role in individual coping mechanisms.

Abstract

The loss of a child represents one of the most profound and life-altering experiences for parents, particularly mothers who often hold deep emotional and psychological bonds with their children. This study aims to explore the lived experiences of grief and hope among mothers following the loss of their first child. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with four mothers who had experienced the loss of their first child. The findings reveal that grief emerges as a complex and dynamic process characterized by shock, emotional distress, anger, and gradual acceptance. At the same time, hope gradually develops through reflective meaning-making, role reorientation within the family, and spiritual engagement. The coexistence of grief and hope illustrates that psychological recovery after loss does not eliminate sorrow but allows individuals to live meaningfully alongside it. These findings highlight the importance of psychosocial and counseling support to assist bereaved mothers in reconstructing meaning and sustaining emotional resilience after profound loss.

Abstract

Boarding schools implement a residential education system with intensive academic, social, and disciplinary demands, which may increase students academic stress. This study aims to examine hardiness as a moderator in the relationship between peer pressure and academic stress among boarding school students. This research employed a quantitative approach using a total sampling technique involving 114 students. The instruments used in this study were modified versions of the Perceived Peer Pressure Scale (PPPS; = 0.964), the Dispositional Resilience Scale-15 (DRS-15; = 0.953), and the Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA; = 0.950). Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that hardiness does not moderate the effect of peer pressure on academic stress among boarding school students. These findings highlight the dominant role of social environmental factors in shaping academic stress among boarding school students.

Abstract

This study aims to review empirical research on inhibitory control in typically developing children aged 3-7 years. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using PRISMA guidelines to analyze articles published between 2021 and 2026. The findings show that inhibitory control develops rapidly during early childhood and is influenced by factors such as structured physical activities, rule-based play, parenting practices, socioeconomic status, and nutrition. Several interventions, including motor activities, gymnastics, music play, and language-based play, were found to improve inhibitory control. In addition, inhibitory control is associated with school readiness, academic achievement, and socio-emotional development. In conclusion, inhibitory control can be strengthened through structured learning experiences in early childhood, highlighting the importance of supportive educational and environmental contexts.

Abstract

Intervensi dilakukan melalui pelatihan self-compassion yang mencakup tujuh sesi utama, yaitu building rapport, psikoedukasi, how would you treat others, meditasi loving-kindness, mirror talk, letter of me, dan evaluasi melalui posttest yang dilaksanakan dalam dua kali pertemuan.

Abstract

People with autoimmune diseases often face complex physical and psychological challenges, including fatigue, pain, uncertainty about disease progression, social misunderstanding, and emotional instability. These conditions require adaptive emotion regulation so that individuals can manage stress, accept their health condition, and maintain psychological well-being. Social support is considered an important external resource that may help individuals cope with chronic illness and regulate their emotional responses more effectively. This study aimed to examine the relationship between social support and emotion regulation among people with autoimmune diseases in Indonesia. A quantitative correlational design was employed. The participants consisted of 97 people with autoimmune diseases selected based on predetermined criteria. Data were collected using a Social Support Scale and an Emotion Regulation Scale. The data were analyzed using Pearson product–moment correlation. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between social support and emotion regulation, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of r = 0.377 and a significance value of p < 0.05. The coefficient of determination indicated that social support contributed 14.2% to emotion regulation, while the remaining 85.8% was influenced by other internal and external factors. Descriptive analysis showed that most participants had high levels of social support, whereas most participants’ emotion regulation was in the moderate category. These findings indicate that although social support plays a significant role, it is not sufficient by itself to optimize emotion regulation among people with autoimmune diseases. The study highlights the need for psychological interventions that not only strengthen social support but also develop structured emotion regulation skills. These findings provide practical implications for counselors, families, health professionals, and support communities in promoting adaptive coping, emotional resilience, and psychological well-being among people living with autoimmune diseases.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social media usage among university students has significantly transformed learning experiences, particularly through the emergence of information overload. One critical issue is social media overload, which may lead to emotional fatigue and subsequently affect students’ academic satisfaction. This study aimed to examine the relationship between social media overload and learning satisfaction among university students who actively use TikTok, as well as to investigate the mediating role of emotional fatigue. A quantitative research design was employed involving 302 participants aged 18–25 years who were active TikTok users. Data were collected using the Digital Media Overuse Scale, the Emotional Exhaustion Scale, and the Study Satisfaction Scale. Mediation analysis was conducted using PROCESS Macro Model 4. The results indicated that social media overload significantly increased emotional fatigue, which in turn had a negative effect on students’ learning satisfaction. Furthermore, emotional fatigue was found to fully mediate the relationship between social media overload and learning satisfaction. This finding suggests that the negative impact of social media overload on learning satisfaction operates entirely through the mechanism of emotional fatigue. These results highlight the importance of managing digital media consumption to prevent emotional exhaustion and maintain academic well-being. The study provides practical implications for educators and institutions in designing interventions that promote healthy social media use and support students’ emotional regulation in digital learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between workplace well-being and Perceived Organizational Support (POS). The proposed hypothesis states that both variables are positively correlated. The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that workplace well-being increases when POS is high and decreases when POS is low. This study involved 127 employees of PT Fritto Chicken Indonesia in Medan City and employed a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling method. Data were analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation test and other statistical methods using SPSS for Windows version 25.0. The results showed a statistically significant positive relationship between POS and workplace well-being (r = 0.256, p = 0.004). However, the magnitude of the correlation is relatively low, indicating that although POS is a meaningful predictor, its practical contribution to workplace well-being is limited. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.066) further suggests that POS accounts for only 6.6% of the variance in workplace well-being, with the remaining 93.4% influenced by other factors not examined in this study. These findings imply that organizations should not rely solely on POS to enhance employee well-being but also consider other contributing factors, such as job characteristics, leadership style, and work environment. This study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on the role of POS in workplace well-being within the Indonesian context, highlighting the need for a more comprehensive approach in improving employee well-being.

Abstract

High employee turnover rates in the retail industry present a significant challenge to company sustainability, particularly as Generation Z continues to become a more dominant workforce. The retail industry is important to study because it is characterized by a fast-paced, dynamic work environment that demands a high level of responsiveness to customer needs, often resulting in employees facing ongoing work pressure. The uniqueness of retail employee work behavior lies in the need to remain responsive and provide optimal service within a busy and often unpredictable work schedule. This situation has the potential to lead to excessive workload, physical and emotional exhaustion known as burnout, and difficulty balancing work and personal life. This study examines the impact of burnout and work-life balance on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in the Jabodetabek retail sector. It adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing a survey method and a correlational design. The population includes Generation Z retail workers in Jabodetabek, selected through purposive sampling. Data were gathered online via questionnaires and involved 185 respondents fitting the criteria. Analysis employed Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Results indicated that burnout had a positively impacts turnover intention, while work-life balance negatively influences. Both burnout and work-life balance were proven to be significant predictors of turnover intention among Generation Z employees in the retail industry. The findings of this study have implications for retail companies to focus more on workload management and work-life balance policies in order to reduce turnover intention levels, as well as contribute to the development of industrial and organizational psychology studies related to the work characteristics of Generation Z.
