Background: Spinal anesthesia is an anesthetic method by injecting local analgesic drugs into the subarachnoid space in the lumbar region. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of health education with spinal anesthesia videos on anxiety in pre-anesthesia in the operating room of the Genteng Regional General Hospital Banyuwangi.Subjects and Method: A quasi experiment study was conducted in Genteng General Hospital, Banyuwangi, East Java, in August 2022. A sample of 15 patients who underwent surgery under spinal anesthesia was selected by incidental sampling. The dependent variable is anxiety. The independent variables were video educational intervention. Anxiety was measured by Anxiety Analog Scale (AAS). Other variables were collected by questionnaire. The difference test in the paired group was examined using paired t-test.Results: Anxiety level after intervention (Mean= 180; SD= 80.84) was lower than before (Mean= 305; SD= 75.12) with p<0.001.Conclusion: Video of spinal anesthesia intervention lower anxiety in pre anesthesia surgery.Keywords: anxiety, spinal video, pre anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, health educationCorrespondence: Katmini. Meta-Analysis the Efficacy of Turmeric (Curcuma domestica) in Reducing Pain in Patients of Knee Osteoarthritis Ardiyanto, Danang; Tamtomo, Didik Gunawan; Murti, Bhisma

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee joint has the highest prevalence among all types of rheumatic diseases. The most common symptom of knee OA is pain around the joint. Patients with OA require long treatment, especially using analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs. Turmeric is efficacious as a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory. This study aims to estimate the magnitude of the effect of turmeric extract (Curcuma domestica) on pain in patients with knee OA compared to placebo and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), based on the results of a number of previous similar studies.Subjects and Method: This study is a systematic review and meta-analysis with the following PICO, population: patients with knee OA. Intervention: turmeric extract. Comparison: placebo and NSAIDs. Outcome: pain reduction. The articles used in this study were obtained from three databases, namely Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct. Keywords to search for articles: “Knee Osteoarthritis” OR “Knee OA” AND “Curcuma longa” OR “Curcuma domestica” OR “Turmeric extract” AND “Placebo” OR “NSAID” AND “pain” OR “visual analogue scale” OR “ VASE". The articles included are full-text with RCT study designs from 2011 to 2021. The selection of articles is carried out using PRISMA flow diagrams. Articles were analyzed using the Review Manager 5.3 application.Results: A total of 15 RCT studies were selected for systematic review and meta-analysis. Data collected from 10 studies showed that patients with knee OA who received turmeric extract experienced 1.60 units lower joint pain than placebo (SMD= -1.60; 95% CI= -2.23 to -0.97; p<0.001). Data from 5 studies showed that patients with knee OA who received turmeric extract experienced 0.06 units higher joint pain than NSAIDs. The comparison between the turmeric extract group and the NSAID group did not show any significant difference (SMD= 0.06; 95% CI= -0.10 to -0.22; p= 0.490).Conclusion: Administration of turmeric extract was more effective than placebo and not inferior to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in reducing pain in patients with knee OA.Keywords: osteoarthritis, turmeric, painCorrespondence: Danang Ardiyanto. Effects of Virtual Reality Therapy and Range of Motion Exercise on Range of Motion in Stroke Patients: Meta-Analysis Septyan Dwi Nugroho; Didik Tamtomo; Hanung Prasetya

Background: Stroke is a disease caused by interference with blood flow in the brain which is still a global problem today. Post-stroke care needs to be done to prevent the worsening of the condition. One of the right interventions that can be done is virtual reality therapy and range of motion exercise. This study aims to examine, analyze and estimate changes in the range of motion of stroke patients with virtual reality therapy and range of motion exercise.Subjects and Method: Metaanalysis was carried out according to the PRISMA flow chart and the PICO model (Population: stroke patients, Intervention: virtual reality therapy and range of motion exercise, Comparison: not performed virtual reality therapy and range of motion exercise Outcome: range of motion). The databases used are Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct. The keywords used (“virtual reality” OR VR) AND (stroke OR CVD) AND (“range of motion exercise” OR ROM OR “motor exercise”) AND (stroke OR CVD) AND “Randomized Control Trial”. The inclusion criteria were full-text articles with RCT studies published in 2012-2022, articles in English, and bivariate and multivariate analysis. Analysis was performed using ReVman 5.3.Results: There were 20 articles with a randomized control trial design originating from Iran, Turkey, China, Egypt, Myanmar, South Korea, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, and Canada involving 799 people. A meta-analysis of 10 RCT studies concluded that virtual reality therapy increased the range of motion of stroke patients by 2.77 units (SMD= 2.77; 95% CI = 1.29 to 4.24; p<0.001) compared to no virtual reality therapy. In addition, the range of motion exercise intervention can also increase the stroke patient's range of motion by 0.84 units (SMD= 0.84; 95% CI= 0.35 to 1.33; p<0.001) compared to not being given range of motion exercise.Conclusion: Virtual Reality Therapy and Range of Motion exercises can increase the range of motion of stroke patients.Keywords: virtual reality therapy, range of motion exercise, stroke, range of motion, meta-analysis.Correspondence: Septyan Dwi Nugroho. Background: Colorectal adenocarcinoma is one of the most common types of colorectal cancer based on histopathology, accounting for about 10% of cancer cases diagnosed worldwide each year. Tumor size and levels of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) are used to determine the presence and evaluation of colorectal cancer. However, studies on the correlation between the size of colorectal cancer based on CT scan abdominal with contrast and the CEA levels are still very minimal in the Indonesian population. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between tumor size examined by abdominal CT scan with contrast and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) levels in stage IV colorectal adenocarcinoma patients.Subjects and Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted at the radiology department, Dr. Moewardi hospital, Surakarta, from February 2021 to July 2021. A total of 40 patients with stage IV colorectal adenocarcinoma were selected in this study. The patient already had the examination results of blood CEA levels and performed an abdominal CT scan with contrast. The dependent variable was blood CEA levels. The independent variable was tumor size. Data were collected from medical records and analyzed by the Spearman test.Results: There was a positive and significant relationship between tumor size and CEA levels (r= 0.47; p= 0.003).Conclusion: Tumor size is positively correlated to blood CEA levels in patients with stage IV colorectal adenocarcinoma.Keywords: colorectal adenocarcinoma, contrast abdominal CT scan, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA).Correspondence: Sulistyani Kusumaningrum. Background: Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA) is a separation that occurs in the abdominal muscles, namely between the two rectus abdominis muscles. This separation is precisely in the linea alba which is the midline of the abdomen. DRA is characterized by two things, namely the widening of the inter-recti distance (IRD) and the appearance of a bulge in the abdomen. This is due to stretching and weakness of the linea alba. This study aims to analyze the effect of core stability exercise on reducing diastasis recti abdominis in normal postpartum mothers based on the results of a number of previous primary studies.Subjects and Method: This study uses a meta-analysis method with articles searched using the search keywords "Core stability exercise" AND "diastasis recti abdominis" OR "normal post partum" OR "caliper" OR "ultrasonography" OR "Randomized Controlled Trial" OR "RCT" from PubMed, Google Scholar and Scopus and processed using RevMan 5.3.Results: 9 RCT articles that fit into the inclusion criteria, with a total of 319 samples. Normal postpartum mothers with diastasis recti abdominis who received core stability exercise had an average caliper score of 4.71 units lower than those without core stability exercise, and the effect was statistically significant (SMD= -4.71; 95% CI -8.05 to -1.37; p= 0.060). Normal postpartum mothers with diastasis recti abdominis who received core stability exercise had an average ultrasound score of 0.80 units lower than those without core stability exercise, and the effect was statistically significant (SMD= -0.80; 95% CI -1.62 to 0.02; p= 0.060). In other words, core stability exercise is effective in reducing diastasis recti abdominis in normal postpartum mothers.Conclusion: Core stability exercise has an effect on reducing diastasis recti abdominis in mothers after normal delivery.Keywords: post partum, diastasis recti abdominis, core stability exercise, calipers, ultrasoundCorrespondence: Feny Oktaviyani. The Difference Effect of Special Cervical Collar with Height of 5 cm and 6 cm to Reduce Neck Pain among Students in Karanganyar, Central Java Alfan Zubaidi; Arif Fadli

Background: Specific cervical collars need to be standardized in order to effectively and efficiently reduce cervical syndrome pain. This condition occurs because the radicle vertebrae are compressed in the long term and even pain can radiate to both shoulders and even to the arches of both hands, this condition will result in abnormal and rapid fatigue. The purpose of this study was to find a standardized cervical collar design specifically to reduce cervical syndrome pain in Tahfidz Karanganyar Islamic boarding school students.Subjects and Method: This was a Randomized Control Trial (RCT) study which was con-ducted from March 2022 to August 2022 in all Tahfidz Islamic boarding schools in Karang-anyar, Central Java, Indonesia. The sample in this study were 160 students with cervical syndrome. Each group in this study consisted of 80 students who were divided into control and treatment groups using simple random sampling. The dependent variable in this study is neck pain (cervical syndrome). The independent variable is the use of the cervical collar. Data analysis uses the Independent samples t-test if the data is normal, and uses the Mann Whitney test if the data is not normal.Results: After the intervention was given, the results showed that the average pain in the intervention group using a special collar as high as 6 cm (Mean = 1.11; SD = 0.39) was lower in pain compared to the control group using a special collar as high as 5 cm (Mean = 3.50; SD = 0.57) and statistically significant (p<0.001).Conclusion: The use of a special cervical collar with a height of 6 cm is more effective in reducing pain than a special cervical collar with a height of 5 cm.Keywords: cervical syndrome, cervical collar, special cervical collar with a height of 6 cm and 5 cm.Correspondence: Alfan Zubaidi. Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a musculoskeletal disorder which is a progressive change in joints that is slow and intermittent, usually in the field there are exercises to strengthen muscles which are only supported by the agonist muscles while the antagonistic muscles also participate and even more dominant, the most approved intervention to be able to activate both muscles is a special task. The purpose of this study is to study whether there are functional requirements for specific tasks to improve the functioning and running of osteoarthritis patients.Subjects and Method: This study method uses the type of experimental research with a single case research method using A-B-A research design. The study was conducted in January 2020 located at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. A patient with knee OA was selected using consecutive sampling. Functional ability and walking speed were tested by West Ontario and McMaster Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC).Results: Specific training improved physical function and speed walking in patients with knee osteoarthritis. The Effects of Skipping Rope Exercise, Brisk Walking Exercise, and Weight Training on Cardiorespiratory Endurance in Physiotherapy Students Kusumaningtyas, Mei; Handari, Herdianty Kusuma

Background: There is a mutually influencing relationship between physical activity and fitness level, especially the cardiorespiratory endurance component. Types of exercise that can increase cardiovascular endurance are skipping rope, fast walking, and weight lifting. Thoses exercises are simple and easy to do. This study aimed to determine whether or not there was a difference in influence and which one was the most influential between skipping rope, fast walking, and weight training on the cardiorespiratory endurance of physiotherapy students.Subjects and Method: This was a randomized control trial study, conducted at the Department of Physiotherapy, School of Health Polytechnics, Ministry of Health, Surakarta, from July to August 2020. A total of 36 students was selected by random sampling, and allocated into 4 groups consisted of 9 students: (1) Skipping rope exercise group; (2) Fast walking group; (3) Weight training group; and (4) Control group. The dependent variable was cardiorespiratory endurance. The independent variable was skipping rope, fast walking, and weight training. Cardiorespiratory endurance was measured by the Cooper method to measure VO2 max. Data were analyzed using paired t test, Wilcoxon, and One Way ANOVA.Results: After intervention, cardiorespiratory endurance was increased in all intervention groups. There was no statistically significant different effects on cardiorespiratory endurance between skipping rope group (Mean= 1.48; SD= 0.42), fast walking group (Mean= 1.42; SD= 0.30), weight training group (Mean= 1.38; SD= 0.22), and control group (Mean= 1.17; SD= 0.28) with p value of 0.218.Conclusion: Skipping rope and weight training significantly increase cardiorespiratory endurance. Background: Bipolar Disorder is a chronic disease with various variations in the course of the disease that are often unknown, misdiagnosed and even when diagnosed are often not adequately treated. The aim of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of KamiO on quality of life in Bipolar Disorder patients at dr. Iskak Tulungagung Hospital.Subjects and Method: Observational study with randomized control trial was conducted at dr. Iskak General Hospital, Tulungagung, East Java, from May 25 to August 25, 2022. The study population were 160 patients with bipolar disorder. A 114 sample was selected using the simple random sampling divided into (1) 57 sample in the treatment group and (2) 57 sample in control group. In this study, the independent variable was KAMIO. The dependent variable is medication adherence and quality of life. While the measuring instrument used is a questionnaire. Data analysis using Mann Whitney test.Results: Patients in the intervention group more adherent to visit medical treatment (Mean= 63.00) than control group (Mean= 52.00), with p= 0.039. Quality of life in bipolar disorder patients in the intervention group (Mean= 72.25) was higher than in the control group (Mean= 42.75) and it was statistically significant (p<0.001).Conclusion: Quality of life in the intervention group (kamio cards) is higher than in the control group.Keywords: kamio effectiveness, treatment adherence, quality of life, bipolarCorrespondence: Katmini. Background: Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is a malignant tumor located in the nasopharynx, which can be treated by Cisplatin, a chemotherapy that has a side effect of increasing the production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) that can damage the liver. We aim to determine the effect of giving Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa) as an antioxidant on liver function of NPC patients receiving Cisplatin chemotherapy. Subjects and Method: Forty subjects of stage III and IV Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma patients were divided into treatment and control groups. Subjects will be tested for SGOT SGPT before cisplatin chemotherapy. The treatment group was given Phaleria macrocarpa capsules 300 mg/24 hours for 5 weeks since a week before chemotherapy. The control group was given placebo capsules/24 hours for 5 weeks since a week before chemotherapy. The patients received two series of cisplatin chemotherapy with an interval of 3 weeks, then a second blood sample was taken 1 week after the second series of cisplatin chemotherapy.Results: There was a significant difference in SGOT levels in the post-treatment group of Phaleria macrocarpa and control, as well as the difference in the pre- and post- treatment group between the Phaleria macrocarpa and control groups. Also, there was a significant difference in SGPT levels in the pre- and post- treatment in the Phaleria macrocarpa and control groups.Conclusion: The administration of Phaleria macrocarpa has an effect on decreasing the levels of SGOT and SGPT in NPC patients receiving Cisplatin chemotherapy therapyKeywords: Phaleria macrocarpa, SGOT, SGPT, Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, CisplatinCorrespondence: Adi Januar Akbar.
