Jurnal Ilmu Peternakan dan Veteriner Tropis diterbitkan oleh Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Papua. Jurnal ini merupakan media komunikasi ilmiah dibidang peternakan dan veteriner yang berupa hasil penelitian atau telaah pustaka (review) yang meliputi produksi ternak, nutrisi dan makanan ternak, sosial ekonomi peternakan, dan budidaya ternak/satwa harapan, kesehatan ternak dan hewan kesayangan, serta veteriner. Abstract

Abstract Weed is one of the plants that grow around rubber plantations that have the potential to provide forage for ruminant feed. This study aimed to explore the environmental conditions and identify the botanical composition of weeds under the shade of rubber trees in immature plants (IP) at PTPN IX, Getas Farm, Semarang, Central Java. Exploratory research was conducted to identify the botanical composition of weeds in three IP groups, such as 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 years old. The composition of the weeds’ botany was divided based on the plants’ morphology into grass, legume, forbs, and browse. The environmental conditions data were analyzed using the ANOVA method and followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The botanical composition data were tabulated using a summed dominance ratio (SDR). The results showed the light intensity, wind speed, environment temperature, and weed botanical composition decreased as the rubber plants ages. The composition of rubber plantation weeds on IP 1-2 years old consisted of 32 species (5 kinds of grass, 4 legumes, 21 forbs, and 2 browse). The composition of weeds on IP 3-4 years old consisted of 15 species (8 kinds of grass, 2 legumes, and 5 forbs), while IP 5-6 years old consisted of 6 species (4 kinds of grass, 1 legume, and 1 forb). The dominant weeds of each IP were Calopogonium mucunoides, Cyrtococcum acrescens, and Cyrtococcum oxyphyllum, respectively. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the area of IP 1-2 years old rubber plantation weeds has the highest botanical composition and potential as ruminant feed. Keywords: Environmental conditions; Immature plants; Rubber plantation; Weed Abstrak Gulma merupakan salah satu tanaman yang tumbuh di sekitar tanaman perkebunan karet yang berpotensi sebagai penyedia hijauan pakan ternak ruminansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kondisi lingkunganpertumbuhan gulma dan mengidentifikasi komposisi botani di bawah naungan pohon karet pada tanaman belum menghasilkan (TBM), di PTPN IX, Kebun Getas. Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksploratif terhadap kondisi lingkungan dan identifikasi komposisi botani gulma pada 3 kelompok TBM yaitu umur 1-2; 3-4; dan 5-6 tahun. Komposisi botani gulma dibagi berdasarkan morfologi tanaman yaitu rumput, legum, forb, dan browse. Data kondisi lingkungan kelompok TBM dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dan diuji lanjut menggunakan Duncant’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Data dominasi komposisi botani ditabulasi menggunakan summed dominance ratio (SDR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan intensitas cahaya, kecepatan angin, suhu lingkungan, dan komposisi botani gulma menurun seiring bertambahnya umur tanaman karet. Komposisi gulma perkebunan karet pada TBM 1-2 terdapat 32 spesies meliputi 5 rumput, 4 legum, 21 forb, dan 2 browse; TBM 3-4 terdapat 15 spesies meliputi 8 rumput, 2 legum, dan 5 forb, sedangkan TBM 5-6 terdapat 6 spesies meliputi 4 rumput, 1 legum, dan 1 forb. Gulma yang mendominasi masing-masing TBM yaitu Calopogonium mucunoides, Cyrtococcum acrescens dan Cyrtococcum oxyphyllum. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan gulma perkebunan karet lahan TBM 1–2 memiliki komposisi botani dan potensi tertinggi sebagai pakan ternak ruminansia. Abstract

ABSTRACT The research objective is to determine the determinants and impact of broiler chicken companies in East Nusa Tenggara. This research was conducted for 6 (six) months from September 2018-February 2019 with the research locations in Kupang Regency and Kupang City which were determined by purposive sampling. The research method is descriptive employing surveys, observations, and interviews. The informants consisted of 8 (eight) people, namely Head of Animal Husbandry Office of Kupang Regency, Head of Animal Husbandry Field at the Agriculture Office of Kupang City, Researchers from the Undana Faculty of Animal Husbandry, and 5 (five) farmer who are members of the organization Himpuli (Himpunan Pengusaha Unggas Lokal Indonesia). The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis used is descriptive which is described in a narrative. The results showed that NTT Province has the potential to establish broiler breeding companies with a concentration of development in Kupang City or Kupang Regency for Timor Island, Nagekeo Regency for Flores Island, and Southwest Sumba Regency for Sumba Island. The existence of broiler breeding companies in NTT will increase the effectiveness of the broiler marketing chain, stimulate new jobs, increase income supported by policies, socio-culture, economy, and distribution. This of course has been well studied from the aspect of overcoming environmental damage caused by the presence of broiler breeding companies in NTT. Keywords: Companies; Breeding; Broiler ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui faktor penentu dan dampak keberadaan perusahaan ayam ras pedaging di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 6 (enam) bulan dari bulan September 2018-Februari 2019 dengan lokasi penelitian di Kabupaten Kupang dan Kota Kupang yang ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Metode penelitian bersifat deskriptif dengan cara survei, observasi dan wawancara. Narasumber terdiri dari 8 (delapan) orang, yaitu Kepala Dinas Peternakan Kabupaten Kupang, Kepala Bidang Peternakan pada Dinas Pertanian Kota Kupang, Peneliti dari Fakultas Peternakan Undana, dan 5 (lima) pengusaha ayam ras pedaging yang tergabung dalam organisasi Himpuli (Himpunan Pengusaha Unggas Lokal Indonesia). Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif yang dijabarkan secara naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Provinsi NTT berpotensi untuk didirikan perusahaan pembibitan ayam ras pedaging dengan konsentrasi pembangunan di Kota Kupang atau Kabupaten Kupang untuk wilayah Pulau Timor, Kabupaten Nagekeo untuk Pulau Flores, dan Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya untuk kawasan Pulau Sumba. Adanya perusahaan pembibitas ayam ras pedaging di NTT akan meningkatkan efektifitas rantai pemasaran ayam ras pedaging, menstimulasi lapangan pekerjaan baru, meningkatkan pendapatan yang didukung oleh kebijakan, sosial budaya, ekonomi, dan distribusi. Hal tersebut tentu telah dikaji secara baik dari aspek penanggulangan kerusakan lingkungan yang ditimbulkan oleh adanya perusahaan pembibitan ayam ras pedaging di NTT. Abstract

Abstract A preliminary study was carried out to determine the potential of dema tree legumes from Sarmi Papua as forage. Dema is the name of the local language for this legume. This study was conducted for 10 months in Sarmi regency, using a case study method with survey techniques, interviews, and laboratory analysis. The observations made included identification of species, morphology, and habitat as well as nutrient content. The results of this study indicate that there are two species of dema legume, the morphology was different in habitat description and leaf morphology. Propagations are by stem cuttings and seeds. The legumes nutritional content are 18.87% crude protein, 16.18% crude fiber, 3.97% calcium, and 17 amino acids. Forage production is around 2-4 kg/tree/3 months. Species identified as Ormocarpum orientale. The conclusion is dema legume has potential as forages. Keywords : Forages; Legumes; Potency; Sarmi Abstrak Suatu studi awal telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui potensi leguminosa pohon “dema” asal Kabupaten Sarmi Propinsi Papua sebagai hijauan pakan. Dema merupakan nama dari bahasa lokal untuk menyebut legume ini. Studi dilakukan selama 10 bulan, bertempat di kabupaten Sarmi, menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan teknik survei, wawancara dan analisis laboratorium. Pengamatan yang dilakukan meliputi identifikasi spesies, morfologi dan habitat serta kandungan gizi. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 2 spesies legume dema, morfologinya spesifik pada deskripsi habitat dan morfologi daun. Perkembangbiaknnya dengan stek batang dan biji. Selanjutnya legume dema memiliki kandungan protein kasar sebesar 18,87%, serat kasar 16,18%, Kalsium (Ca) 3,97% dan juga 17 asam amino. Produksi hijauannya, 2-4 kg/pohon/3 bulan dan spesies teridentifikasi dengan nama Ormocarpum orientale. Dengan demikian berpotensi sebagai hijauan pakan. Abstract

Abstract Amorphophallus companulatus (AC) is a plant from the Araceae family that contains high metabolizable energy and an alternative feedstuff for livestock. This study aimed to investigate the effect of feeding diet containing AC on slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat of broiler chickens. The feeding trial lasted for 35 days. For the sample, 112 broiler chicks, all a day old (DOC) were used. The research had 4 treatment groups and 4 replications with 7 birds per replication. The four treatments were P0 (Control ration without AC); P1 (rations containing 5% of AC); P2 (rations containing 10% of AC); P3 (rations containing 15% AC). Slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat weight data were analyzed by variance analysis and followed by Duncan's multiple range test with a confidence level of 0.05. The addition of AC tubers affected the slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat weight of broiler chickens. The slaughter and carcass weight in chickens fed with the control ration was significantly (P <0.05) higher than the chicken fed with rations containing AC. The abdominal fat weight was significantly (P <0.05) higher in chickens fed with control rations compared to those fed with AC rations. In conclusion, AC tuber meal in the ration can reduce the slaughter weight, carcass weight, and abdominal fat weight of broiler chickens. Abstrak Amorphophallus companulatus (AC) merupakan Araceae yang mengandung energi metabolisme yang tinggi dan sebagai bahan pakan alternatif bagi ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan AC dalam ransum terhadap bobot potong, berat karkas, dan lemak abdominal ayam broiler. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 35 hari. Seratus dua belas ekor ayam broiler umur sehari digunakan dalam penelitian. Ada 4 kelompok perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan masing-masing 7 ekor ayam per ulangan. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah P0 (Ransum kontrol tanpa AC); P1(ransum yang mengandung 5% AC); P2 (ransum yang mengandung 10% AC); P3 (ransum yang mengandung 15% AC). Data berat potong, berat karkas dan berat lemak abdominal dianalisis dengan analisis varians dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan pada tingkat kepercayaan 0,05. Pemberian umbi AC berpengaruh terhadap berat badan akhir, berat karkas dan berat lemak abdominal ayam broiler. Berat badan akhir, berat karkas pada ayam yang diberi ransum kontrol secara nyata (P <0,05) lebih tinggi daripada ayam yang diberi ransum mengandung AC. Bobot lemak abdominal secara nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi pada ayam yang diberi ransum kontrol dibandingkan yang diberi ransum AC. Kesimpulannya, tepung umbi AC dalam ransum dapat mengurangi berat badan akhir, berat karkas dan lemak abdominal ayam broiler. Abstract

Abstract This research goal is to determine the nutrient content increased and decreased lignin content of cocoa pod fermented by Aspergillus niger. The assessment method was performed using the three treatments and four replications. T0 = cocoa pod fermentation without the addition of Aspergillus niger, T1 = cocoa pod fermentation by the addition of 5% Aspergillus niger, and T2 = cocoa pod fermentation by the addition of 10% of Aspergillus niger. Fresh cocoa pods were chopped to a size of 1-2 cm. Some of the cocoa pods are directly chopped, rolled, and dried while the rest are supplemented with Aspergillus niger. The mixture is stored within an aerobic medium for seven days. Observed variables include dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CFt), crude fat (CF), and lignin. Data were analyzed with analysis of variance unidirectional pattern (Oneway ANOVA) of the completely randomized design (completely randomized design), then if there are significant differences will be further tested by Duncan multiple range test. The results showed that cocoa pod fermented with A. niger decrease of dry matter, crude fat, crude fiber, and lignin. The conclusion is the addition of Aspergillus niger 5% will lower the lignin content (5.38%) compared to without the addition of Aspergillus niger (7.84%). Keywords: Aspergillus niger; Cocoa pod; Fermentation; Lignin Abstrak Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kandungan nutrien dan penurunan kandungan lignin dari kulit buah kakao (KBK) yang difermentasi dengan A. niger. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu menggunakan tiga perlakuan dan empat ulangan. P0 = KBK fermentasi tanpa penambahan A. niger, P1 = KBK fermentasi dengan penambahan 5% A. niger, dan P2=KBK fermentasi dengan penambahan 10% A. niger . KBK segar dicacah dengan ukuran 1-2 cm. Sebagian KBK yang dicacah langsung dikeringkan kemudian digiling dan sebagian lainnya diberi penambahan A. niger. Campuran dimasukkan ke dalam wadah aerob selama 7 hari. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan desain penelitian rancangan acak lengkap. Variabel yang diamati meliputi kandungan bahan kering (BK), protein kasar (PK), serat kasar (SK), lemak kasar (LK) dan lignin. Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam pola searah (oneway ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan uji jarak berganda Duncan (Duncan multiple range test/DMRT), apabila nilai P<0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fermentasi kulit buah kakao dengan A. niger menurunkan kandungan air, lemak kasar, serat kasar dan lignin. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan A. niger 5% dapat menurunkan kandungan lignin (5,38%) dibandingkan dengan tanpa penambahan A. niger 10% (7,84%). Abstract

Goat management in rural areas is still commonly done traditionally with little regard for health factors. One factor is the presence of parasitic worms in the goat's digestive tract which causes disturbed growth. The research aims to evaluate the effect of the addition of turmeric and multinutrient block plus (MNBP) in eliminating endoparasites and increasing feed intake of Jawarandu goats. The material used was 12 male Jawarandu goats weighing an average of 20 kg. A completely randomized design was used in this study with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment T0: basal ration + MNBP; T1: T0 + 1% turmeric; T2: T0 + 3% turmeric; T3: T0 + 5% turmeric. The parameters observed were feed intake, weight gain, number of endoparasites and total eggs per gram of feces. Data analysis using analysis of variance significance level of 5% to determine the effect of treatment. If there is a treatment effect, it is followed by Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed a decrease in the number of endoparasites. The best treatment to induce an antibody system is T2 treatment, namely the addition of turmeric with a level of 3%. Feed intake was not significantly increasing although improving body weight gain in T2 and T3. The conclusion of the study is that the administration of MNBP and turmeric with a level of 5% has not been able to eliminate all endoparasites until the 28th day. MNBP and turmeric are useful as natural antioxidants. Increased level of turmeric can increase weight gain and immune system of goats. Abstract

Abstract The potential of seaweed as a functional food ingredient has not been explored. Several studies, the compotition of seaweed can prevent stress in animals such as sedative mechanisms. The sedative effect was decreased of blood pressure. Pregnancy can be a stressor in animals and cause anemia physiologically. This study aims to determine the effect of seaweed extract on the profile hemoglobin and erythrocytes of pregnant mice. In this study used 10 pregnant rats divided into 2 groups, group 1 (control) and group II (treatment with 450 mg/BW extract Sargassum sp). Calculation of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, and thrombocyte measurements were carried out in day 0, 7, and 14. The results showed that there was an increased thrombocyte count in the treatment group even though in both groups there was a decreased the number of erythrocytes and hemoglobin. The results of statistical analysis showed a significant difference (p <0.05) of thrombocyte counts between the control and treatment groups. Based on the results of the study it was found that administration of Sargassum sp. during pregnancy can prevent thrombocytopenia in pregnant rat. Beberapa penelitian telah menyebutkan kandungan rumput laut dapat mencegah stress pada hewan seperti mekanisme sedativa. Efek sedativa yang sering muncul adalah penurunan tekanan darah. Kebuntingan dapat merupakan stressor pada hewan dan secara fisiologi akan menyebabkan anemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek pemberian ekstrak rumput laut pada gambaran hematologi tikus bunting. Penelitian ini menggunakan 10 ekor tikus bunting yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok 1 (kontrol) dan kelompok II (perlakuan ektrak rumput laut Sargassum sp 450 mg/kg BB). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada hari ke 0 (sebelum kebuntingan), hari ke 7 dan hari ke 14 (akhir kebuntingan). Pengukuran hematologi sampel meliputi perhitungan eritrosit, pengukuran hemoglobin serta trombosit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan jumlah trombosit pada kelompok perlakuan meskipun pada kedua kelompok terjadi penurunan jumlah eritrosit dan hemoglobin. Hasil analisis statistik ada perbedaan yang signifikan (P<0,05) jumlah trombosit antara kelompok kontrol dengan perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak Sargassum sp selama kebuntingan dapat mencegah terjadinya trombositopenia pada tikus bunting. Abstract

Abstract Colibacillosis is one of the most problematic issues in the boiler industry. However, the antibiotic overuse has induced Escherichia coli resistance so that other alternative to reduce colibacillosis is needed. One of the alternatives is using aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller), which has been widely used as an antibacterial agent. This study aims to isolate and identify E. coli from the broiler drinking water source and test the aloe vera antibacterial activity against it. Escherichia coli were isolated from well in three broiler farms in Moyudan District, Sleman, Yogyakarta that previously had colibacillosis. Escherichia coli were isolated using eosin methylene blue (EMB) agar and the metallic sheen colony was tested to confirm the biochemist reaction. The pure isolate of E. coli was used in the aloe vera inhibition test using Muller Hinton agar (MHA) by a Well Diffusion method. Aloe vera was processed using aquades and ethanol 70%. The aquades infusion was diluted into 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% and the extract ethanol 70% was diluted into 10%, 12.5, %, 25%, 40%, and 50%. The bacterial identification showed that one of three samples contained E. coli which was then used for inhibition test. The result showed no inhibition zone in the aquades infusion while ethanol extract showed an inhibition zone in concentration 25%, 40%, and 50% of aloe vera extract with a diameter 19.5 mm, 24 mm, and 25 mm. It can be concluded that aloe vera ethanol extract has inhibitory activity against E. coli in poultry drinking water with a minimum concentration of 25%. Keywords: Aloe vera; Broiler drinking water; Escherichia coli; Inhibitory activity Abstrak Colibacilosis masih menjadi permasalahan dalam industri broiler. Penggunaan antibiotik berlebihan telah menyebabkan resistensi sehingga perlu alternatif lain. Salah satu alternatif adalah menggunakan bahan alami seperti adalah lidah buaya (Aloe barbadensis Miller) yang memilliki aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi E. coli dari sumber air minum di kandang broiler serta menguji aktivitas inhibisi lidah buaya terhadap bakteri tersebut. Air yang digunakan sebagai sumber E. coli berasal dari sumur di tiga peternakan broiler di Kecamatan Moyudan, Sleman, Yogyakarta yang memiliki riwayat infeksi colibacilosis. Bakteri E. coli diisolasi menggunakan media eosin methylene blue (EMB) dan diuji sifat biokimia untuk mengkonfirmasi sifat bakteri E. coli. Isolat murni E. coli digunakan pada uji daya hambat bakteri dengan metode difusi sumuran menggunakan media Muller Hinton Agar (MHA). Lidah buaya diproses menggunakan aquades dan ethanol 70%. Infusa aquades diencerkan menjadi konsentrasi 12,5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% dan ekstrak ethanol 70% diencerkan menjadi 10%, 12., %, 25%, 40%, dan 50%. Hasil isolasi menunjukan bahwa satu sumber air dari sumur di Desa Kolowenang mengandung E. coli yang kemudian digunakan pada pengujian daya hambat. Hasil pengujian menunjukan tidak ada daya hambat yang terbentuk pada infusa aquades sedangkan ekstrak etanol lidah buaya 25%, 40%, dan 50% menunjukan adanya zona hambat sebesar 19,5 mm, 24 mm, dan 25 mm berturut-turut. Ekstrak etanol lidah buaya pada penelitian ini memiliki kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan E. coli yang bersumber dari air minum broiler dengan konsentrasi terendah 25%. Abstract

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate minerals and nutrient composition of young coconut husk silage fermented with rice bran at different concentrations. The study was conducted for seven months in the Laboratory of Feed Technology of State Agricultural Polytechnic of Kupang. A completely randomised design was employed with four treatments and five replicates. The treatments were young coconut husk without rice bran (P0) or the husk plus 4% (P1), 8% (P2) or 12% (P3) of rice bran out of the silage total weight. Variables measured were dry matter, ash, crude protein, crude lipid, crude fibre, Calcium, Potassium and Phosphorus. Analysis of variance showed that rice bran significantly (P<0.01) affects all variables measured. The Duncan’s range multiple test showed that 12% and 4% were the best rice bran concentrations to increase nutrient content and minerals of the silage, respectively. It can be concluded that adding 12% of rice bran to young coconut husk silage increased dry matter, ash, crude protein and crude lipid but reduced Calcium and Potassium. Crude fibre and Phosphorus increased at the inclusion of 8% rice bran. Key words: Nutrient; Minerals; Rice bran; Silage; Young coconut husk. Abstrak Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi komposisi nutrien dan mineral silase sabut kelapa muda pada berbagai level penambahan dedak padi, telah dilaksanakan selama 7 bulan di Laboratorium Teknologi Pakan Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Kupang, dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan yang terdiri dari P0 : sabut kelapa muda tanpa dedak padi, P1 : sabut kelapa muda + 4% dedak padi, P2 : sabut kelapa muda + 8% dedak padi, P3 : sabut kelapa muda + 12% dedak padi dengan 5 kali ulangan. Variabel yang diukur adalah kadar bahan kering (BK), kadar abu, kadar protein kasar (PK), kadar lemak kasar (LK), kadar serat kasar (SK), kadar kalsium (Ca), kadar kalium, dan kadar fosfor. Analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa level dedak padi yang berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kadar BK, kadar abu, kadar PK, kadar LK, kadar SK, kadar Ca, kadar K, dan kadar P. Uji Duncan memperlihatkan level dedak 12% menghasilkan nutrien terbaik dan level 4% menghasilkan kadar mineral terbaik. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan level dedak padi hingga 12% dapat meningkatkan kadar BK, kadar abu, kadar PK, dan kadar LK. tetapi menurunkan kadar Ca dan kadar K. Kadar SK dan P meningkat hingga penambahan level dedak padi 8%. Kata kunci : Dedak padi; Kadar nutrient; Kadar mineral; Silase; Sabut kelapa muda.

Abstract

Abstract Lemna minor is a water plant that is easily obtained and has a good nutrient content that is high in protein. High protein for livestock can be used for production purposes. The study aims to determine the effect of administration of lemna minor on fat content, specific gravity, and dry matter without fat milk of friesien holstein dairy cows. The object of the study was 20 second-to-four-month FH lactating cows in the Dairy Farmer Group of Kp Tanggung Renteng Village, Pamegatan Village, Cikajang District, Garut Regency, West Java Province, then kept for 60 days and given feed according to treatment, namely R0 = Grass 60% + Concentrate 40%, R1 = 50% Grass + 40% Concentrate + 10% wet Lemna, R2 = 60% Grass + 37% Concentrate + 3% Dry Lemna, R3 = 50% Grass + 37% Concentrate + 10% Wet Lemna + 3% Dry Lemna, R4 = Grass 45% + Concentrate 38% + Wet Lemna 15% + Dry Lemna 2%. The results showed that the effect of administering lemna minor did not affect on fat content, specific gravity, and dry matter without milk fat. The conclusion that administration of lemna minor in dairy cattle feed cannot increase fat content, specific gravity, and dry ingredients without fat Holstein friesien milk. Keywords : lemna minor, fat content, density, solid non fat Abstrak Lemna minor merupakan tanaman air yang mudah diperoleh dan memiliki kandungan nutrient yang baik yaitu protein tinggi. Protein yang tinggi bagi ternak dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan produksi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian lemna minor terhadap kadar lemak, berat jenis, dan bahan kering tanpa lemak susu sapi perah friesien holstein. Objek penelitian yang digunakan adalah 20 ekor sapi FH laktasi kedua sampai empat bulan di Kelompok Peternak Sapi Perah Kp Tanggung Renteng Desa Pamegatan Kecamatan Cikajang Kabupaten Garut Provinsi Jawa Barat kemudian dipelihara selama 60 hari dan diberikan pakan sesuai dengan perlakuan yaitu R0= Rumput 60% + Konsentrat 40%, R1= Rumput 50% + Konsentrat 40% + Lemna basah 10%, R2= Rumput 60% + Konsentrat 37% + Lemna Kering 3%, R3= Rumput 50% + Konsentrat 37% + Lemna Basah 10% + 3% Lemna Kering, R4= Rumput 45% + Konsentrat 38% + lemna basah 15% + Lemna Kering 2%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh pemberian lemna minor tidak berpengaruh terhadap (P>0,05) kadar lemak, berat jenis, dan bahan kering tanpa lemak susu. Kesimpulan bahwa pemberian lemna minor dalam pakan sapi perah tidak dapat meningkatkan kandungan lemak, berat jenis, dan bahan kering tanpa lemak susu friesien Holstein.
