Abstract

Creative Products and Entrepreneurship (PKK) is designated as a subject with five lesson hours per week, taught by all general subject teachers, so in practice this subject is used for uncertified teachers to obtain certification. This risks lowering the quality of teaching if teachers' main focus is on certification rather than improving students' competencies. This research aims to comprehensively analyze the implementation of the PKK independent learning curriculum. This type of research uses a field research method with a qualitative approach. The research informants were six PKK subject teachers. Data collection procedures through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Curriculum has been carried out in stages, including the preparation of teaching modules, teaching materials, learning tools, evaluations, and reports on student learning outcomes. The preparation of PKK teaching modules has also been carried out with supervision from the school and the Education Office. The implications of this study indicate that the implementation of Merdeka Belajar Curriculum has been carried out systematically, but still faces challenges. The research results can be the basis for policy makers to provide further support, such as providing training for teachers in preparing teaching modules, improving IT skills, and fulfilling facilities and infrastructure. The routine evaluations carried out can be further developed to increase the effectiveness of learning and ensure the achievement of student competencies according to curriculum objectives.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a phenomenon that continues to grow alongside social changes and progress, affecting the psychological development of adolescents, who are often emotionally unstable. This study aims to analyze the causes of juvenile delinquency among students at Melati Binjai Private High School and to identify the contributing factors, as well as the strategies used to address this issue. The approach used in this study is quantitative, employing a correlational method. The subjects of the study consisted of 30 private high school students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using two instruments: a juvenile delinquency scale and a social learning scale, both measured using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation. The results of the study showed no significant relationship between social learning methods and juvenile delinquency. This finding suggests that other factors—such as parenting styles, social environment, and peer interactions—may have a greater influence on delinquent behavior. The study concludes that social learning alone is insufficient to address juvenile delinquency and recommends that additional factors be considered in efforts to prevent such behavior. The implications of this research are important for various stakeholders, particularly educators, schools, and policymakers in the field of education.

Abstract

The absence of multilingual teaching materials does not have an impact on students' ability to understand local cultural competition material. Based on this, the aim of this research is to develop multilingual teaching materials based on the local cultural content and context of the Ngada tribe with the theme My Family which is appropriate to the characteristics of grade I elementary school students. This type of research is development research with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). The data sources obtained from this research are content/material experts, Indonesian language experts, regional language experts and design experts. The data collection method uses a questionnaire. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire sheet. The data analysis technique uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The research results are  This teaching material has the potential to be an effective innovation in supporting inclusive, contextual and meaningful early learning. The conclusion of this research states that the teaching materials developed have proven effective in increasing students' understanding of learning materials, strengthening early literacy skills, and fostering appreciation for the diversity of local languages and cultures. The integration of Indonesian, regional languages and English in one teaching material that is contextual to students' lives has been proven to be able to create more enjoyable, relevant and meaningful learning. The implications of this research indicate that developing teaching materials that combine a multilingual approach and local cultural content can be an effective strategy in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools, especially in the early grades.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the use of less varied learning media. This study aims to investigate the process of developing an e-storybook and to evaluate the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of an e-storybook tailored to cocoa plantations in Doesoen Kakao Glenmore. This development research uses the Borg and Gall development model, but its implementation only reaches the eighth stage. The research subjects were fifth-grade students from an elementary school. The data collection instruments used were observation guidelines, interview sheets, student response questionnaire sheets, documentation sheets, and learning outcome test sheets. Data analysis techniques used, product validation, trials, product effectiveness, and product practicality were carried out through manual calculations using statistical formulas. The development of an e-storybook focused on cocoa plantations resulted in a valid, effective, and practical product. The product's validity obtained a score of 85 (very feasible). The product's effectiveness was demonstrated by the results of student learning tests, which yielded a relative effectiveness of 68% (high effectiveness). The product's practicality obtained a score of 80% (practical). Based on the above data, the e-storybook oriented towards cocoa plantations is a valid, effective, and practical tool for implementing learning. Thus, e-storybooks can be used as an innovative learning medium to help students learn independently and improve their learning outcomes. outcomes.

Abstract

English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students often struggle with academic writing, especially when working on undergraduate theses. This study explores the perceptions and factors influencing using AI-based paraphrasing tools by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) undergraduate students in their thesis writing. The study used a qualitative descriptive method and a case study design involving 53 students. The data collection method used a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with five participants from the 9th semester of the English education study program. Data collection instruments used questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique used qualitative descriptive analysis. The study results showed that students considered AI-based paraphrasing tools helpful in saving time, improving vocabulary, and avoiding plagiarism. The main factors influencing their use included time management, institutional requirements for originality, and the desire to improve the quality of writing. Despite positive perceptions, students also expressed concerns about over-reliance on the tools and the potential for decreased originality. The study concluded that although AI-based paraphrasing tools support academic writing, they should be a complement, not a substitute, for critical writing skills.

Abstract

Community Learning Activity Centers (PKBM) are known to be of low quality and have minimal achievement of school quality indicators. This study demonstrates the direct and indirect influence of management innovation, school ethos, and community involvement on school quality. The sampling technique was stratified cluster random sampling, with a sample size of 400 administrators spread across 15 East Java Province, Indonesia cities. The research design used a quantitative approach with a structured equation model (SEM). Data collection used questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The results showed that management innovation, school ethos, and community involvement significantly influenced school quality. Management innovation implemented by the principal and management team was proven to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process and school governance. The high school ethos is reflected in teacher enthusiasm, student discipline, and a positive culture within the school environment, directly impacting educational service quality. Meanwhile, community involvement from parents, the school committee, and the surrounding environment strengthens support for school programs, both in material and moral aspects. These three variables simultaneously contribute to improving school quality, both in terms of student academic achievement, availability of facilities and infrastructure, and the school's reputation in the eyes of the community.
