Abstract

This study was motivated by the low English speaking skills of students and the less than optimal use of learning media in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to create learning media that can improve the speaking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in English. This study used the ADDIE model. The subjects were material experts, learning media experts, practitioners, and students in fourth grade of elementary school. The purpose was to measure their level of English speaking skills. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Observation guidelines, interview guidelines, assessment scale sheets, and questionnaire sheets were the tools used to collect data. A total of 34 students from fourth grade of elementary school were involved in the product trial. To determine the effectiveness of the product, a t-test with correlated samples was used to analyze data from the pre- and post-test results. The results showed that the mobile-assisted language teaching tool (MALL) based on contextual problems was valid. Thus, the results of expert and practitioner evaluations determine the validity and effectiveness of the developed contextual problems.

The subjects of this study were 1 subject expert, 1 learning design expert, 1 learning media expert, 1 learning language expert, 3 students for individual trials, and 9 students for small group trials. This study is a development research using the Dick and Carey model. Data collection was carried out using observation, interview, questionnaire and multiple choice test methods. The data analysis techniques used were quantitative descriptive analysis, qualitative and inferential statistical analysis (t-test). The results of the study showed a review of learning content experts of 96.87%, a test of learning media experts of 95%, a test of learning design experts of 100%, a test of learning language experts of 97.5%, an individual trial of 98.3% and a small group trial of 97.2%. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between before and after using the IPS e-module media with innovations containing Balinese folklore based on the Pancasila student profile. The implications of this study are to make students more active in the learning process, understand local wisdom, and form characters in accordance with Pancasila values.

Abstract

The problem in this study is that many students still have not mastered the skills of PLC-based control systems in accordance with the learning objectives. This is because the learning media is only a simulation using buttons and pilot lights without using the original components. The aims of this study is to examine and reveal the effectiveness of the outseal PLC-based PLC training kit in improving students' practical skills in PLC-based control systems. Pre-experiment one group pre-test and post-test is the research methodology used in this study, with a research sample of 32 students from the electrical power installation engineering department vocational school. The research data were collected using a skill assessment questionnaire and analyzed using paired sample t-test analysis technique and effect size test. The results revealed that the t-value obtained was 7.915 with a significance of 0.000 and a value of d = 1.701. These results show differences in students' skills after and before using the training kit that is applied and proven to improve student skills significantly. Thus, it is proven that this training kit effectively improves vocational students' skills. Based on these results, vocational high schools are expected to apply this training kit to facilitate learning and improve students' PLC-based control system skills.

Abstract

There is a significant gap between cognitive psychology theory and learning practices in many educational institutions. As a result, many students do not fully benefit from approaches designed to improve comprehension and retention. This research aims to analyze the influence of cognitive psychology on students' responses to learning mathematics. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with comparative methodology. In this research, a purposive sampling technique was chosen to random sampling. The research sample consisted of 120 class VII students from two schools. The sampling technique used was random sampling. This research sample was taken from four class VII, with a total of 30 research subjects. Data was collected using instruments in the form of a cognitive psychology questionnaire and a questionnaire on student responses to mathematics learning as measured by a Likert scale. Quantitative data analysis was carried out using data processing software with comparison tests and influence tests. The research results showed that there were significant differences in aspects of cognitive psychology between the two groups studied. Apart from that, the research results also indicate that cognitive psychology has a significant influence on students' responses to mathematics learning. By understanding the influence of cognitive psychology on student responses, educators can develop more effective teaching strategies that can increase student motivation and learning achievement.
