Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structure of the Bivalve community based on diversity and dominance indices in Pasuruan to become a potential learning resource for Biology Class X SMA learning. Bivalves are a phylum of mollusks that have many benefits for the ecosystem. Bivalve research on the coast of Pasuruan village kalirejokecamatan kraton there is still no research and also the lack of contextual learning resources based on local potential so that it supports this research. sampling is done exploratory research with purposive sampling method at each research station using an iron scratching tool. The results of the study found as many as 5 orders of 11 species of Bivalves from the orders Arcoida, Veneroida, Tellinida, Mytilida, and Vilobransia. The Diversity Index of species from the Bivalve Class Mollusc Phylum has a level of diversity that is categorized as moderate on the coast of Pasuruan with a diversity index value of 1.563. The Dominance Index of species from the Bivalve Class Molluscs has a dominance level that is categorized as low on the coast of Pasuruan with a dominance index value of 0.27. The results of the analysis of the relationship between Bivalve community structure research and Biology learning in the independent curriculum, has the potential to be found in Phase E Learning Outcomes, class X SMA biodiversity material. The results of the identification of these linkages will be poured into teaching materials in the form of Modules and Handouts and practicum guides.

Abstract

Evaluation is a process where a teacher can measure the cognitive value of students in doing something in learning. In otherwords, the measurement of training is something that must be owned by an educator in carrying out responsibilities such aseducators, because it relates to the bureau and the responsibilities of an educator in learning, namely learning is included incarrying out the end of learning. The purpose of the mini set is to evaluate biology lessons in the Immune System subject usingDiscovery Leaning in the cognitive development of high school students in class XI MAS PAB 1 SAMPALI Medan. The methodused in this research is the quantitative method. The instrument used in the form of a written test to test students' understandingof the material taught using LKS (Student Worksheet). The research location is at JL. HITA MARKET NO. 69 SAMPALI withclass XI samples. The research was conducted on 27 May 2022 at 8.45-10.00. Based on the results of the study, it was foundthat the immune system material using the Discovery Learning model can solve problems on its own related to the materialand can answer questions, because the questions given are related to life and students' critical thinking skills on the immunesystem material.

Abstract

Based on interviews and observations conducted at SMAN 18 Surabaya, show the fact that environmental awareness from students X3 SMAN 18 Surabaya needs to be improved. The purpose of this research was to increase the environmental awareness of students from class X3 SMAN 18 Surabaya by applying a problem-based learning model with a case study method on environmental change topics. This research was conducted using collaborative classroom action research with 2 cycles, each cycle had four phases which were planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in SMAN 18 Surabaya and Jangkar Park Jambangan, with 33 students from X3 as the subject of this research. The data from this research were collected using observation sheets and survey sheets. Then the data was analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The results showed that the problem-based learning model and case study method can be used to increase student's environmental awareness, it can be proven by looking at class X3 environmental awareness form observation sheet that increased from 62,33% at cycle 1 and became 80% at cycle 2, then it also can be proved by look at the data from survey sheet that also has increased from just 67% students that can be categorized have good environmental awareness at cycle 1 became 100% students that can be categorized have good environmental awareness at cycle 2. Based on the research it can be concluded that a problem-based learning model with a case study method on environmental change topics can be used to increase students' environmental awareness.

Abstract

Revolution 4.0 created reforms in various fields, including education. Skill-based learning of the 21st century which contains aspects of 4C (Critical thinking, Creative thinking, Collaboration, Communication) emerged as a demand for the 4.0 revolution era in the field of education. The quality of textbooks greatly influences learning activities, therefore the quality of textbooks used must be in accordance with the curriculum and the development of science. This study aims to analyze the quality level of class XII biology textbooks on cell metabolism material based on aspects of 21st century skills. This study used a qualitative approach with content or document analysis methods. The instrument used in this study was in the form of a checklist containing the 4C aspect score (Critical thinking, Creative thinking, Collaboration, Communication). The results of the analysis show that book I (Erlangga) gets 17 scores out of 30 maximum scores with an average score of 1.70. Book II (Grafindo) obtained 25 scores out of 30 with a maximum score with an average score of 2.50. Book III (Yrama widya) obtained 29 scores out of 30 maximum scores with an average score of 2.90. Based on the results of the analysis, it was concluded that book I (Erlangga) had a fairly good quality, while book II (Grafindo) and book III (Yrama widya) had very good quality. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for teachers and schools to be more selective in choosing the textbooks used and to be a concern for writers and publishers to pay more attention to the quality of the books published.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the product development process, product feasibility, and user response to the product. This type of research is Research and Development using steps according to Sugiyono. The instrument development process consists of several stages, namely preparing all supporting aspects of application creation and design, the assessment question design stage, and the application design stage. The validation carried out is media and material validation by distributing validation questionnaires. The trials carried out were product trials and usage trials, product trials were carried out by 3 class IX students and science teachers, while usage trials were carried out by 15 class VIII students and science teachers. The trial location is located at Daruttaqwa Junior High School, Jombang District, Jember Regency. The results of the research were, product development produced Android and Desktop Based Cognitive Diagnostic Assessment Instruments for Science Learning at Daruttaqwa Jombang Junior High School, media suitability validation was 86.66%, material suitability validation was 76.66%, student responses to product trials were 86.66%. 88.33%, teacher response in product trials was 90%, student responses in usage trials were 90.5%, and teacher responses in usage trials were 87.5%. Product quality determination uses minimum assessment criteria which are included in the "Decent" category with a percentage ≥ 56%. Based on these provisions, Android and desktop based cognitive diagnostic assessment instruments are suitable for use in implementing cognitive diagnostic assessments of science learning at Daruttaqwa Junior High School, Jombang.

Abstract

Birds have a wide range of habitats and are found in water and terrestrial areas, one of which is the mangrove area. The Setapuk Mangrove area has potential tourist attractions that can be developed, such as hearing birds chirping. The Setapuk Mangrove area has just been rehabilitated and has become an ecotourism area which has the potential to be used to improve the community's economy and preserve the environment. The aim of this research is to determine the diversity of birds in the Setapuk Singkawang Mangrove Area, West Kalimantan. This research was carried out from October to November 2023. Bird diversity research was carried out in 2 locations, namely mangrove locations and ponds using the Concentration Count method. Each location creates 3 points with a point size of 100 m. The results of this research found 14 species in the Setapuk mangrove area. The largest number of individuals in the morning mangrove location was C. leschenaultia (Great Sand Plover). In the afternoon mangroves that are often found are G. alba (White Sea Tern). In the pond locations in the morning and evening, the most numerous individuals were O. ruficeps (Cinenen Gray). The highest diversity is found in pond locations with a value of 1.67 while in mangrove locations it is 1.60. The Dominance Index at the pond location is 0.23 and the mangrove has a value of 0.26, and the Evenness Index value for the pond location is 0.70 and the mangrove location is 0.67.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' learning activities, examine the differences in environmental literacy improvement, and assess students' responses through the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) assisted by posters to enhance students' environmental literacy skills in the topic of environmental changes. This study involved two classes, an experimental group, and a control group, with a total of 30 students as the research sample. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, and questionnaires. The research design used was a pretest and posttest control group, with two classes receiving different treatments. The results of this study indicate a significant improvement in students' learning activities when implementing the Project-Based Learning model assisted by posters to enhance students' environmental literacy skills in the topic of environmental changes. The increase in students' learning activities from the second to the third meeting in the experimental class using the PjBL model assisted by posters for environmental change topics was higher compared to the control class. Furthermore, there was a significant difference in the improvement of environmental literacy skills between the experimental and control classes, with a significant result of sig 0.000 < 0.05. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. The student response questionnaire regarding the implementation of the PjBL model assisted by posters in enhancing environmental literacy skills showed that the average student response score was 72%, with 20% falling into the "very good" category, 67% in the "good" category, and 13% in the "fairly good" category. Therefore, the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model assisted by posters in improving environmental literacy skills in biology education can effectively enhance environmental literacy. Additionally, this approach provides students with direct experiences as responsible individuals for preserving and protecting the environment.

Abstract

Pleurotos ostreatus cultivation is a business opportunity that has high economic value and has increased every year. This study aims to determine the best planting inoculation method and surface method for Pleurotos ostreatus cultivation, and determine the most effective concentration of sawdust and straw mixed media for the growth of Pleurotos ostreatus. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factorials, namely surface inoculation and planting. The results showed that the cultivation of Pleurotos ostreatus using straw waste media as a replacement medium based on inoculation planting systems and surfaces including the stages of sterilization of tools and materials, making media, inoculation, incubation obtained the best model results, namely planting inoculation. Results Addition of straw media as a replacement medium based on the inoculation of the planting system and surface. After observing, the results of the most effective concentration or treatment for the growth of Pleurotos ostreatus were in the J3 treatment using the inoculation method of planting at 20.10 cm.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the obstacles faced by students in learning biology during the transition period in North Toraja Regency State High Schools. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research by distributing questionnaires related to the obstacles faced by students during biology learning during the transition period (online to offline). The population in this study was 2152 students in classes X and XI Science consisting of 10 high schools in North Toraja Regency. The sampling technique was carried out using cluster sampling based on regional divisions so that 4 schools were obtained representing each regional division. Determining the minimum sample size uses the Slovin formula to obtain results of 300 samples. The results of the analysis show that students' obstacles in learning biology during the transition period (online to offline) reached a percentage of 50% in the moderately constrained category.

Abstract

Increased levels of free radicals in the body are thought to trigger oxidative stress and cause aging. Biologists state that aging is one of the causes of infertility in men. Squid ink is known to have high antioxidant activity so that it can be used as an alternative treatment. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of inking squid on the quality and quantity of male individual spermatozoa, which included sperm count, motility, and viability of the spermatozoa of mice experiencing oxidative stress due to D-Galactose induction. This research was conducted experimentally in December 2022 – March 2023 where 24 male mice were divided into 4 groups, namely K, K- (D-Gal 150 mg/kgBB), P1 (D-Gal 150 mg/kgBB + squid ink 40 mL/kgBB), and P2 (D-Gal 150 mg/kgBB + squid ink 100 mL/kgBB). The results showed that squid ink was able to increase the quality and quantity (sperm count, motility, and viability) of mice spermatozoa which had previously decreased due to D-Galactose induction, where the best results for each parameter were shown by P2.
