Abstract

This study examines the application of cupping therapy in the context of Thibb al-Nabawi, or the medicine of Prophet Muhammad saw. The author uses qualitative methods and field research to analyze the benefits of cupping therapy and its relevance in the modern era. Cupping, or al-hija>mah, is a traditional method that removes stagnant blood or toxins from the body through the skin. The concept of Thibb al-Nabawi provides a strong foundation for modern cupping therapy, emphasizing cleanliness, caution, and the spiritual dimension in healing. Living hadith supports this practice with the belief that there is a cure for every disease decreed by Allah SWT. Prophet Muhammad saw stated that cupping is the best treatment in Islam. Sunnah cupping practices in Indonesia follow Islamic principles with ethical guidelines and manners reflecting Islamic teachings. The acceptance of cupping therapy by modern society indicates its recognition as a preventive measure to enhance overall health. The transformation of cupping therapy through modern technology maintains the relevance of this traditional practice in contemporary healthcare. This study provides insights into the relevance and positive contributions of cupping therapy in healthcare while preserving Islamic values.

Abstract

KH. Ali Yafie is a great scholar of the archipelago who performs ijtihad in the field of classical fiqh with the paradigm and action of fiqh reform so as to give birth to concepts that are applicable to the modern world. This research aims to explain the study of legal istinbath conducted by KH. Ali Yafie in the renewal of fiqh. This research is a library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection is done through documentation and interviews. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman data analysis through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study explain that KH Ali Yafie's style of istinbath law is istislahi-maqashidi which prioritizes the general propositions of sharia and prioritizes benefit. KH Ali Yafie's paradigm of thought reform revolves around the concepts of tajdid, ijtihad, fiqh development, and istishlah. These four concepts encourage the dynamization and contextualization of fiqh so that it can answer social problems contextually and solutively. Meanwhile, the product of KH Ali Yafie's fiqh thinking revolves around four aspects, namely worship, mu'amalah, munakahah, and jinayat.

Abstract

The practice of Nyongkolan in traditional marriages of Lombok people has been in the spotlight because it causes traffic jams, drinking alcohol, and causes brawls. This study aims to examine the current Nyongkolan tradition and its suitability with Sasak characteristics and Islamic teachings from the perspective of 'Urf. The research method uses qualitative research with data collection through observation and documentation. The data analysis method uses Miles and Huberman data analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that basically in the view of 'Urf the implementation of Nyongkolan is allowed as long as it does not conflict with Islamic law. In the beginning, the Nyongkolan tradition was carried out to take the newlyweds to the female family's house and announce the girl's marriage in the hope that no one would disturb the two brides because they had entered into a legal marriage. The practice of Nyongkolan becomes haram when it is accompanied by erotic dancing, drinking alcohol, and brawls because it is contrary to Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges faced during the operational implementation of the 2023 Hajj pilgrimage and to identify preventive measure for the upcoming years. The research employs a qualitative approach, with primary data in the form of mortality data of 2023 pilgrims processed by Siskohatkes-Kemenkes. Meanwhile, secondary sources are derived from interviews with 2023 Hajj pilgrims and various electronic media sources. The results finding indicate that the peak of pilgrim deaths occurred in Muzdalifah, where many pilgrims suffered from dehydration while waiting for transportation to Mina. The incident started on the 10th of Dzulhijjah, allegedly due to non-Hajj visa holders were overcrowding the Taraddud routes, causing congestion in the pickup fleets. Additionaly, accommodation services and support for the elderly pilgrims were not to be insufficient. To prevent similar incident in the future implementations, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has designed various presentive measures, including Murur and Tanazul stays to hotels, deemed appropriate steps in improving pilgrim safety. This research is expected to provide significant contributions to the government and relevant authorities as an evaluation material for better Hajj management in the future.

Abstract

Financing climate change mitigation requires large costs that each country must incur. Likewise, developing countries are more vulnerable to climate change. Cash waqf as an Islamic social financial instrument has the opportunity to become a supportive financing alternative. This research aims to provide a new paradigm in developing cash-waqf-based climate change mitigation programs. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through literature study and analysis using descriptive content analysis. Waqf and the environment are in line with the goal of maqashid sharia, namely human welfare. Innovations in financing climate change mitigation programs can be carried out through Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS), Blue Waqf, and Green Waqf. Even though there is an opportunity for cash waqf to become alternative financing for cash waqf, there is still a need to create an ecosystem that supports the running of climate change mitigation programs on a cash waqf basis. Improvements are needed from various related parties to increase the quality and awareness of cash waqf and climate change mitigation.

Abstract

This article examines the design of the Qur’anic Tadabbur Model to enhance Islamic Religious Education (PAI) through the integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The study aims to develop a conceptual framework for the model, focusing on deep reflection on Qur’anic verses to strengthen students' moral character and spiritual awareness. Using a qualitative approach and library research method, the study explores the model's design and its implications for PAI. The findings show that the Qur’anic Tadabbur Model provides a comprehensive approach to fostering students' moral and spiritual development, encouraging reflection on and internalization of Qur’anic values. It not only enhances students' understanding of the Quran but also supports the application of these values in everyday life. Although still in the conceptual stage, further empirical research is required to assess the model's practical effectiveness. These findings lay the foundation for future studies on the implementation of the Qur’anic Tadabbur Model in PAI and its impact on character development.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Indonesian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in promoting religious tolerance narratives through social media, particularly Instagram, from 2019 to 2023. The research addresses the challenges CSOs face in countering intolerance and polarization online, emphasizing the digital strategies they employ. Utilizing a Discourse Network Analysis (DNA) method, the study integrates quantitative network mapping and qualitative text analysis to explore content patterns, collaborations, and audience engagement. Primary data was collected from 25 CSO Instagram accounts, supported by textual analysis, observations, interviews, and documentation. The research focuses on two key questions: (1) What do CSO networks promoting interfaith tolerance look like? and (2) How are narratives of tolerance structured and disseminated within these networks? Findings highlight variations in CSO strategies, showing that highly active organizations achieve broader reach through consistent posting, while smaller CSOs rely on quality content and partnerships to remain impactful. Despite algorithmic challenges and echo chambers, CSOs effectively leverage social media to advance tolerance narratives, integrating cultural and religious contexts. The study underscores the need for collaborative networks and adaptive digital strategies to amplify inclusive messages and mitigate intolerance, offering insights into strengthening CSO efforts in the digital era.

Abstract

This article aims to offer minority fiqh as a solution to the implementation of Islamic law (fiqh) in various regions, especially for Muslims who live as a minority. There are two important findings that the author concludes in this article, first, the use of the terminology minority and majority is used in the Qur'an in very diverse contexts. Interestingly, the term majority is used in the context of negative meanings, such as polytheists, infidels, negligent, and opposing Islamic teachings. While the use of the terminology minority has a positive connotation, referring to meanings such as believers, survivors, and so on. In line with the differences in context, classical fiqh has recognized minorities in the concepts of dzimmah, mu'ahadah, and musta'man. Second, the development of minority fiqh is carried out by applying collective ijtihad (jama'i), applying al-Qawa'id al-Fiqhiyah (legal maxim), understanding the historical context, applying the principle of facilitation (muyassar), oriented towards universal fiqh, and protecting the identity of individual Muslims while connecting it to the collective identity of Muslims.
