Abstract

The dialogue between Imam Al-Ghazali and Ibn Rushd is one of the most monumental stories in the study of Islamic philosophy, in which his criticism of Al-Ghazali is refuted by Ibn Rushd with his various arguments. The purpose of this article is to strengthen Imam Al-Ghazali's criticism of the philosophical eschatological paradigm. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that (1) Imam Al-Ghazali sentenced the philosophers to be disbelievers who held this view of nature as eternality, God does not know the details, and the resurrection of the soul on the Day of Judgment. (2) However, this verdict was criticized by Ibn Rushd. That nature is eternal, because its existence coincides with the beginning of time. Then this knowledge of God has nothing to do with a detailed or global model of knowledge, because God is the substance that causes an object to exist. Then this religious text is metaphorical in nature, so it is not certain that it is the body that is resurrected. (3) It's just that, the majority of scholars' from Sunni circles support Imam Al-Ghazali's statement. They based it on religious texts QS. Al-Hadid verse 3 about the eternality of nature, QS Al-An'am verse 28 regarding the knowledge of God, and QS Al-Kahf verse 47 and Al-Anbiya '104 regarding the resurrection of the body.

Abstract

Marriage aims to build a happy and eternal family, but realizing this is challenging because many factors trigger a conflict that leads to divorce. Research focuses on reasons for divorce based on marriage law. To sharpen reasoning in studying the laws of other countries, the research was carried out using comparison. The country chosen to compare with Indonesia is Turkey because Turkey has reformed family law in the form of a law, apart from that because Indonesia and Turkey have a majority Muslim population with a majority of the Shafi'i school of thought in Indonesia and Hanafi in Turkey. The research method uses a statutory and comparative approach with secondary data, namely Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage, the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), and the Turkish Civil Code 1926. The analysis uses three paths with conclusions based on vertical comparisons: Indonesia and the Islamic School of Religion. Shafi’i and Turkey, with the Hanafi School, both adopted some of the provisions of the school to become part of the regulations. Horizontally, the reasons for divorce in the Marriage Law in Indonesia and The Turkish Civil Code 1926 in Turkey are largely similar, and diagonally with a comparison of the history of marriage legislation, namely that every aspect of marriage law regulations is more or less influenced by the school of thought followed by that country.

Abstract

Spreading Islam in the early Walisongo period amidst the strong establishment of the Hindu monarchy - Majapahit - was certainly not an easy thing. Adaptation and persuasion efforts were needed so that Islamic values did not encounter resistance from Javanese society at that time. One of the things that Walisongo - especially Sunan Kalijaga - did was infiltrate it through arts and culture. One of the things he did was construct a wayang character, namely Puntadewa, which incidentally was very popular with the people of his time.Using qualitative research with library research specifications, the author tries to explore how the value of monotheism is infiltrated into society through the construction of Puntadewa's character. The results of this research can be concluded that Puntadewa's position as the eldest of the Pandavas was used as an initial benchmark in infiltrating the value of monotheism into Javanese society at that time. The protagonist's typical character traits, which from the start are filled with attributes of perfection, make this step quite smooth. A series of storylines attempted in such a way as to reduce the previous values attached to the Mahabharata epic - and some of which were contrary to Islam - were actually quite successful and even without physical resistance in society at that time.
