Abstract

The current problem shows that the human resources of the existing apparatus are very far from what is expected. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the human resources of the apparatus so that they can improve the quality of the apparatus, both their professional abilities, insight abilities, leadership abilities and service abilities so that in the end it will improve the quality of work of an apparatus. This study aims to see and examine the quality of human resources that have been / are being carried out to improve the performance of Civil Servants. The quality of human resources is an analysis of activities carried out to improve and improve the knowledge and skills of employees through education and training, non-training activities, learning assignments and promotions. Then the performance of civil servants is the quality of service, timeliness, the value of the list of work implementation, attendance, and interpersonal impact. The research method used is the correlation method, which is a research process that looks at the relationship between the independent variable (X) and the dependent variable (Y). The study population was 32 civil servants at the Office of the Revenue and Financial Management and Asset Management Office of the City of Probolinggo. The research sample was taken from the entire population, amounting to 32 respondents. Meanwhile, to examine the service quality of the apparatus, which is one indicator of the apparatus' performance, the authors took a sample of 32 people. Based on the research conducted and continued with analysis using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (rxy) test, the result is that there is no correlation between the quality of human resources and the increase in the performance of civil servants, with the acquisition of an rxy value of -0.143 which indicates there is no relationship.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline, work culture, and work environment on the performance of social service employees, women's empowerment and child protection. The research uses a quantitative descriptive research method which is carried out through data collection with primary and secondary data. The data analysis technique in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the variable Work Discipline has a positive and insignificant effect on Employee Performance, meaning that if Work Discipline increases, then Employee Performance will increase, and vice versa. The Work Culture variable has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, meaning that if employees have a good Work Culture, then Employee Performance will increase significantly, and vice versa. The work environment variable has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, meaning that if a company has a good work environment, employee performance will increase significantly, and vice versa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and explain the significant effect of pelebelans on the interest of re-buying Viva cosmetics products on STIA Bayuangga Probolinggo. The study uses explanatory research methods carried out through data collection in the field. the population of all Viva cosmetic product users in college students STIA Bayuangga Probolinggo with a sample of 98 female students, data analysis using statistical methods of Multiple Linear Regression and testing of hypotheses and coefficients is terminated. Based on the results of the study showed that Pelebelan can increase the interest of re-buying Viva cosmetics products in college students STIA Bayuangga Probolinggo and Brand Image can increase interest in repurchasing Viva cosmetics products to students STIA Bayuangga Probolinggo

Abstract

This study aims to find out how students respond during learning with models make a match, and how are the activities of students and teachers in Catholic Religious Education lessons. The type of approach used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. The results of the analysis found that at the beginning of the use of the learning model make a matchstudents are still confused and do not dare to present their cards. However, after the meetings in cycles 1 and 2, the responses of the students seemed very enthusiastic about the way the material was presented in this model and the learning activities had increased. As well as the results of student activities and teacher activities look significant in the observation table. Based on the findings above, it can be concluded that the learning modelmake a match influenced the responses and activities of students and teachers in Catholic Religious Education lessons at SMP Negeri 3 Bonti, Sanggau Regency.

Abstract

English is arguably the most widely used language in the world and it is considered as the mother tongue by more than 400 million people. It is underlines the impotance of mastering English and the scope of English which is too broad makes everyone has different motivations in learning English. The purpose of this research is to investigate the differences motivation in learning English as a foreign language. The participants of this study were 5 people from different backgrounds based on their needs to support them in living their lives. They were from student, lecturer, awardee of scholarship, worker, and course-taking people. This research method employed a descriptive qualitative method. The sample was taken using purposive sampling since data collection was in accordance with their respective positions. Data collection techniques included observation, interview, and documentation. The results and discussion will be further presented.

Abstract

The prompt development of English has formed a new perception that English should be the language of daily life. Diverse studies have been carried out to extend knowledge about the language itself with the various methods used. The researcher, in this context, aims to examine the speech style used by the main actor and the racial conflict that happened in the movie of “Freedom Writer”. The researcher uses a socio-linguistic approach to get a better understanding of the context of the speech and the speech style that is used according to the context. The film was based on a real story that happened in the united stated. The film was released in 2007. The researcher found a variety of speech style that was used by the main actor in the movie. The most dominant speech style used in the film is “Formal Style”. The formal style is used in an important and serious situation such as lectures, sermons, television newscasts, and some other occasions. The language style that is rarely used in this film is the “Frozen” style because the style is used in certain literature. More complexed discussion in this movie regarding racial issues were also further discussed.

Abstract

Mastering vocabulary is one of the important factor in learning English. In general, EFL Young Learners interpret vocabulary as a matter of words and also related to meaning and dictionary. The objectives of this research are: (1) to find out whether or not the use of PPP approach can improve the vocabulary mastery of the fifth grade learners at SD Pasalakan 2 Sumber Cirebon; and (2) to describe the class situation when PPP approach is implemented in teaching vocabulary. The study was carried out by using qualitative and quantitative method. The data collected using various techniques in qualitative method obtain from questionnaire, interview, classroom observation, and field note. While technique of collecting data using quantitative method was obtained from vocabulary test that consist of pre-test and post-test. Then in analyzing the qualitative data, the writer uses analyzing action research, while quantitative data are analyzed by using descriptive statistics method. The improvement of EFL young learners’ vocabulary mastery included: (1) pronouncing words correctly; (2) spelling the words correctly; (3) understanding the meaning of words; (4) making simple English sentences correctly. Related to the improvement in the classroom situation, EFL young learners are more enthusiastic and more interested in learning process.

Abstract

Songwriters utilize figurative language to portray their ideas, sentiments, and emotions in a manner that is more intriguing, attractive, and distinctive. This encourages this research to study a song written by Paul Mauriat entitled "Love is Blue." This song is analyzed to answer some research objectives, namely what figurative languages are frequently used by the writer, how the contextual meaning is built, and what emotions are expressed by the writer. Through the analysis, this present study finds five types of figurative language in this song with different percentages. With 38% of the total, metaphor dominates the use of figurative language. The rest of the figurative language found in this study consists of alliteration (33%), hyperbole (11%), repetition (11%), and personification (7%). Also, there are three basic emotions that are found in every context of the lyrics that indicate the use of figurative language. Those are the emotions of sadness, anger, and happiness. The findings indicate that the use of figurative language can express various types of emotions.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the application of teacher pedagogy influences the development of basic biology competencies that contain metacognitive elements. The subjects of this study were teachers and students from schools A and B. The selection of subjects was based on differences in school admissions. The research method used is descriptive research. The results of this study indicate that the pedagogical implementation of teachers A and B is equally high in directing motives. Teacher A focuses more on interactions that occur between fellow students, and teacher B focuses more on interactions between teachers and students. The results of this study indicate that based on the mapping of class interactions according to the Verbal Category Interaction System, school A has the highest frequency of 28.3% occurring during group discussion activities. In school B, it has the highest frequency of 20.1%, which occurs during group discussions and presentations. Student B's metacognitive knowledge is better able to demonstrate metacognitive knowledge than student A.

Abstract

This paper is a type of qualitative research with a library research approach. Collection of literature related to charismatic and visionary leadership. Furthermore, when viewed from the closeness of the content, the literature can be classified into two. First, the primary source (primary source) and the second secondary source (secondary source). Charismatic leadership is a leadership style by highlighting charisma to attract and inspire devotion by others. A visionary leader is a leader who is able to determine where the organization is going and how to achieve it. Thus, visionary leaders must have predictive, anticipatory, systematic, holistic, integrative, and comprehensive thinking skills.
