This article describes the result of article review about running dictation game. This research aims to review how do teachers use running dictation game to improve students’ in English skills based on article. This research is library research. The techniques of collecting research data are primary data and secondary data. The result of the research is the researcher concludes from four articles. The first article title is “Running Dictation as an Effective Technique on The Teaching Writing Skill” from that article the researcher can conclude Running dictation technique motivates the students to have wider ideas to write their text. The second article title is “Peningkatan Keterampilan Berbicara Doubt Expression melalui Model Pembelajaran Running Dictation Menggunakan Media TEGAR pada Siswa Kelas IX-6 MTs Negeri 1 Ternate Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017.” The result of this research indicate an increase in doubt expression in speaking skill. The third article title is “The use of Running Dictation Technique to Improve Students’ Listening Skill” the conclusion from this article is it is found that Running Dictation technique can improve students’ listening skill. The fourth article is “The Effectiveness of Reading Comprehension Using Running Dictation Technique at The Eight Grade Students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kediri” this article explained The researcher can conclude that Running Dictation Technique is effective in reading comprehension. Based on four articles explanation above, it can conclude that using running dictation game can improve four English skills. There are speaking, writing, listening and reading. The study is aimed to find out the correlation between habit in listening to English songs, vocabulary mastery, and listening skill of the tenth grade students of SMK KIMIA YTK Palembang. This study used a test and a questionnaire. The population of the study is all of the tenth grade students while the sample is 30 students taken by cluster random sampling technique. The techniques used to analyze the data are simple and multiple correlation and regression by using SPSS 17. The results of the study show that there is a positive correlation between habit in listening to English songs and vocabulary mastery toward listening skill, both partially and simultaneously. The positive correlation indicates that habit in listening to English songs and vocabulary mastery tend to go up or to go down together with the student’s listening skill. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari tahu (1) Jenis kecerdasan ganda di kelas EFL pada siswa kelas delapan dari SMP Negeri 6 Lubuklinggau, (2) Apa strategi yang mewakili kecerdasan ganda yang diterapkan di kelas EFL pada siswa kelas delapan dari SMP Negeri 6 Lubuklinggau. Subjek penelitian adalah 60 siswa yang dipilih oleh perwakilan data sampling peneliti menggunakan penelitian survei dan data yang dikumpulkan oleh wawancara, kuisioner, observasi. Data dinilai dengan menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian adalah para siswa tertarik untuk mengembangkan kecerdasan ganda mereka. Para peneliti menemukan sejumlah kecerdasan item ini: kecerdasan linguistik (16.56%), kecerdasan logikal-matematika (9.51%), kecerdasan visual spasial (10.7%), kecerdasan kinestetik (13.37%), kecerdasan musikal (12.32%), kecerdasan interpersonal (10.66%), intrapersonal intelligence (11.7%), kecerdasan naturalis (15,18%). Dari 8 beberapa kecerdasan memiliki nilai tertinggi adalah kecerdasan linguistik (16.56%) dan skor terendah adalah kecerdasan interpersonal (9.51%). Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa siswa tertarik pada kecerdasan linguistik di kecerdasan ganda. Strategi yang digunakan oleh guru adalah belajar melalui video dan kartu dan mengaturan huruf-huruf yang terbuang menjadi sebuah kata.

COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 digitizes human activities. The educational field is one of the aspects that affected. The classroom activities that usually do with the teacher and students together in one room moves to the virtual class in which the teacher and the students are apart. The teachers are charged to be more creative to make an interactive class. There are various applications, educational purpose and non-educational purpose, that can be used in teaching and learning activities. Thus, this study aimed to know the students' perception of the use of learning online applications and the perception of Tumblr.com as social media to teach writing, specifically in teaching hortatory exposition text. This study uses a qualitative research design and an online survey that engaged 15 students of the English Education Department in the 4th Semester at Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa. The result of this study displayed students' improvement in writing and a positive attitude towards the use of Tumblr in the teaching and learning process. It leads to the conclusion that Tumblr can be used as an alternative solution to having interesting activities in online the teaching and learning process.

This study aims at finding out the implementation of reading aloud through virtual meetings on EFL primary students. Students have one month to use the zoom meeting application as medium to implementing read aloud. The design of this study is qualitative method using observation, questionnaire checklist, and interview. The subjects of this study were grade 4 students at Nongekeng school, Thailand. The results from data analysis show that there is positive response from students during the implementation of reading aloud using the zoom virtual meeting. Students can focus more on learning, be active in class, have good attitude, good pronunciation and intonation of reading, and ask questions confidently. However, there are obstacles during the teaching process such as an internet connection. But it can be handled well, so the implementation of reading aloud through virtual meeting is worth to use during pandemic situation like this.

Abstract This study aimed at investigating the role of EFL teachers’ teaching strategies in their teaching effectiveness and their students’ motivation and achievement in learning English as a foreign language at SMK Negri 6 Kota Kupang. Data was collected by using a mixed-method with qualitative dominance. The students evaluated their teachers’ teaching effectiveness by completing the questionnaires distributed by the researcher. This Study discusses analyzing the students’ speaking performance in demonstrating the product advertising. There were 24 second-semester students of the English Language Study Program of a private university who participated in this study. The researchers conducted this study by analyzing the students’ speaking scores and categorizing the students’ speaking achievements into five levels of ability. There were five levels of ability that cover the aspects of speaking skills. Those levels are poor, fair, average, good, and excellent. The finding showed that the excellent level contributed as 42 %, then average and good level have the same percentage as 25 % and the two last levels were fair and poor got 4 % for each of them. The average score of students’ speaking performance in demonstrating the product advertising was at a good level. It could be described that the students’ speaking performance was good, both in students cognitive and mental preparation.

This research was to identify students’s English learning strategies. Seventh grade students in VII.3 at SMP Negeri B.Srikaton was the subject. Method in this research was survey research design. The researcher used questionnaire of Strategy Inventory for language learning (SILL) by Rebecca L. Oxford and interview. In analyzing the data, researcher used four steps; they were identification, classification, description and conclusion. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found there were 6 kinds English learning strategies used by students. The strategies were memory strategies, cognitive strategies, compensation strategies, metacognitive strategies, affective strategies and social strategies. The most dominant strategy in English learning strategies was metacognitive strategy with the total 9 students. The second 8 students was cognitive strategy. The third, affective strategies 8 students. The next, 7 students was memory strategies. Then, social strategy with 2 students and the least, compensation strategy only had 2 students

The objective of this research is to investigate the listening strategies employed by the students at the tertiary level in EFL setting. The current study used descriptive approach which involved six students. They are the representative from the low, medium and high ability students. To achieve the objective of this research, the researchers used interview guideline as the instrument to collect the data. The findings showed that from those six strategies, there were only five strategies which are employed by the students; namely social startegy, cognitive strategy, compensation strategy, metacognitive strategy and affective strategy. From the result of this research, it can be concluded that memory strategy is not employed by the students.

This research takes a look at item evaluation constructed through English teachers of SMAK Giovanni Kupang. Specifically it focuses on the problem of Discrimination Power of test items. It aimed to know the quality of discrimination Power of the test items. Design used in this research was mix method. Data resource was semester test item of grade X. The instrument used was documents containing 40 multiple choice test items constructed by the English teacher in SMAK Giovanni Kupang, The result of this study showed that only 87.5% of discrimination Power.
