Abstract

Aims : This study is to find out the relationship between nurse mental workload and completeness of documentation in isolation rooms during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design : This research was correlational with a cross-sectional approach. Methods : The design of this study was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. This study used primary data obtained through direct observation using a questionnaire consisting of patient demographic data, the mental workload was measured by NASA-TLX (National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index validity test obtained the value of r= 0,690 – 0,775 and reliability test Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0,797 and the completeness of documentation was measured using the standard instrument for standard documentation evaluation of the Ministry of Health. The research population was nurses who treated COVID-19 patients in Pontianak. Sampling was done using non-probability sampling using a purposive sampling technique with inclusion criteria, nurses who treat Covid-19 patients for at least 5 months. The number of samples was 30 nurses and 24 nursing care documents. Data analysis in this study used the bivariate Spearman's Rho test Results : The results of Spearman's rho analysis showed a significant value or Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.026. Because the value of Sig (2-tailed) 0.026 was < less than 0.05, there was a significant relationship between mental workload and the completeness of nursing care documentation. Conclusions : The increase in the number of patients makes the workload higher because it is not proportional to the ratio of nurses to patients.

Abstract

Aims: The increasing prevalence of stunting and its associated morbidities highlight the need for effective prevention measures. Digital-based family empowerment interventions have been identified as a promising approach to prevent stunting. This study aims to investigate various types of digital-based family empowerment interventions in preventing stunting and optimizing child growth. Method: It is a thematic literature review using a semi-structured search approach with predefined keywords in four major databases, namely Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. The research applies a systematic research method with PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines and sets search boundaries using the PICO (Population/Problem, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) approach. Three search criteria include digital-based family empowerment interventions for stunting prevention, articles published within the last five years, and written in English or Indonesian. Result: From the search, nine articles were selected, forming three main themes: (1) digital-based child growth and development monitoring programs in preventing stunting; (2) digital-based health education programs for stunting prevention; and (3) digital-based nutrition counseling programs in preventing stunting. Conclusion: Digital-based family empowerment interventions have proven to be effective in stunting prevention efforts. With a better understanding of these interventions, it is hoped that knowledge and skills in preventing stunting and optimizing child growth can be enhanced. The role of nurses can be pivotal in integrating technology into family education.

Abstract

Aims: This research aims to compare the effectiveness between Kuresif audiovisual media and Flip Sheet Media in improving mothers' knowledge and attitudes. Methods: This type of research is a quasi-experiment with a pretest posttest control group design based on the total sampling technique. The research was conducted during August-September 2021. The sample consisted of 102 control groups and 102 intervention groups. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test with questionaire. which aims to determine the effect of applying flip-sheet media and Kuresif audiovisual media on mothers' knowledge and attitudes in providing appropriate complementary feeding. Results: The results showed that in the flipchart media group there was an average increase in knowledge of 4,3% from 11,8% to 16,1%. Mothers' attitudes experienced an average increase of 20,9% from 56,8% to 77,7%. Meanwhile, in the kuresif audiovisual media group the average increase in knowledge was 6,9% from 12,4% to 19,3% and attitudes experienced an average increase of 33,4% from 59,1% to 94,5% with p=0,00. Conclusions: Kuresif audiovisual media is the most effective in increasing mothers' knowledge and attitudes compared with flipchart media. Indonesia is still facing nutritional problems that have a serious impact on the quality of human resources. Mother's lack of knowledge is one of the causes of improper nutritional intake. One way to accelerate efforts to break the cycle of nutritional problems is to increase mother's knowledge through counseling using flipchart media. Based on the evaluation carried out, the flipchart media has not shown an increase in the knowledge and attitudes of mothers regarding complementary feeding. Innovation is needed from counseling media in order to increase mother's knowledge and attitudes.

Abstract

Aims: Even though the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus in Indonesia continues to increase, research data on glycemic management, which is the primary strategy for reducing complications of diabetes mellitus, is still limited. In this study, an evaluation of glycemic control status and related factors was conducted in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: This research was a cross-sectional study with 115 type 2 diabetes adults who came to the Hospital in Kediri for treatment. Data was collected using the UK Diabetes and Diet Questionnaire (UKDDQ) questionnaire, which consists of 24 questions and the Godin Leisure-Time Exercise Questionnaire (GLTEQ), along with a blood glucose check between July and August 2023. The glycemic level was assessed using a random blood glucose level, and 'poor glycemic control' was defined when the blood glucose level was >200 mg/dL. SPSS was used for descriptive analyses and inferential statistics by chi-square test to analyze the relationship between patients glycemic control status and its relevant risk factors, including demographics, dietary control, and physical activity. Results: Only 26.1% of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Aura Syifa Kediri Hospital have good glycemic control. In bivariate analysis, gender, education, control status of diet, and physical activity (P values 0.05) were significantly correlated with glycemic control. Meanwhile, age, marital status, employment status, and duration of diabetes mellitus (p-value> 0.05) were not associated with glycemic control. Conclusion: The prevalence of good glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients remains low. Based on this research, we found that gender, education, diet control, and physical activity were influencing factors in this problem. Publicity and education regarding the importance of glycemic control should be developed for type 2 diabetes patients, and targeted interventions should be made for risk groups.
