Abstract

AbstractMathematics is a subject with a concept of how to solve it. Mathematics is also a subject that can be found in education, trading, buying and selling, work, and other daily activities. Combination is the arrangement of an object regardless of the order. The purpose of this research was to find out the standard of the subject's mathematical understanding ability. This research was conducted with a subject of 33 students who attended MA AL ITTIHADIYAH in Medan City with the results of the study getting 2 types of students, namely high ability students reaching 93% and students' moderate ability reaching 7%. The results are obtained through a pilot test in the form of 2 questions with 1 essay and 1 multiple choice question.Keywords : Understanding Of The Problem, Combination, Qualitative          AbstrakMatematika merupakan mata pelajaran dengan memiliki konsep cara penyelesaian. Matematika juga merupakan mata pelajaran yang dapat di temukan di pendidikan, perdagangannya jual beli, pekerjaan, serta kegiatan sehari-hari lainnya. Kombinasi merupakan penyusunan suatu objek tanpa melihat urutannya. Tujuan di adakan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui standard kemampuan pemahaman matematis subjek. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan subjek berjumlah 33 siswa yang bersekolah di MA AL ITTIHADIYAH di Kota Medan dengan hasil penelitian mendapatkan 2 type siswa yaitu kemampuan tinggi siswa mencapai 93% dan kemampuan sedang siswa mencapai 7%. Hasil di dapat dengan melalui tes uji coba berbentuk 2 soal dengan 1 essay dan 1 soal pilihan berganda.Kata Kunci : Pemahaman Masalah, Kombinasi, Kualitatif

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of various learning methods to the learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 15 Toboali on the area of flat shapes. This research was conducted on fifth grade students of SD Negeri 15 Toboali. After learning that applied various learning methods to the material "Area of Flat Shape" in Mathematics learning, the following results were obtained: (1) from the aspect of the learning process, students were actively involved in learning activities from Cycle I to Cycle III; (2) there was an increase in students' academic ability, namely students' mastery of the concept of learning material, starting from cycle I to cycle III the average score of students increased so that it reached 82.69; and (3) in terms of student activity, the score obtained in Cycle III was 83.65 and in terms of student cooperation, a score of 82.69 was obtained in Cycle III. Based on the values, activeness, and cooperative attitudes obtained by students, it can be concluded that the application of various learning methods can improve student learning outcomes and be used in learning at school, especially learning "Area of Flat Shape" in Mathematics.

Abstract

Thinking skills are very important in learning mathematics because, with the help of mathematical reasoning, students can develop their thinking skills in mathematics. This research aims to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities by using a project-based learning model (PjBL). This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, designed in a one-group pretest and posttest design. The population in this study were all students of SMP AW 8 (UNIVA) Medan which consisted of five classes. The research sample consisted of one class, namely class fourth with a total of 12 students selected by simple random sampling. Data collection techniques use students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the form of descriptive questions. The instrument used is a mathematical reasoning test consisting of pretest and posttest questions which will be used after testing the validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discriminating power. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is a paired sample t-test to find differences in students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the research class and get points to determine the increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The results of the analysis using the sample t-test were obtained with a value of t_count = -27.735 <t_table = -2.20 indicating that students' mathematical reasoning abilities increased by using the project-based learning (PjBL) learning model. Students' mathematical reasoning ability increased in high class with an average score of 0.71

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes through the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach in Class V of SD Negeri 106162 Medan Estate. The research method used is classroom action research involving teachers and students in a process of reflection and improvement. Data collection was carried out through observation, tests and interviews. PMRI steps are applied in planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research results show a significant increase in student learning outcomes after implementing PMRI. PMRI-based mathematics learning encourages students to be more active, creative and independent in understanding mathematical concepts. This is proven by the increase in student observation results, namely the score obtained was 72.20 (fair) in the first observation activity (cycle I) which increased to 85 (good) in the second observation activity (cycle II). Apart from that, increasing student learning outcomes can achieve success, as evidenced by the first observation (cycle I) and second observation (cycle II), namely from 65.50% (fairly good) to 87.50% (very good).

Abstract

Based on classroom observations, it is evident that most teachers utilize conventional methods or lecturing, resulting in a less conducive classroom atmosphere. Therefore, there is a need for innovation in classroom learning, one of which involves implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The aim of this research is to enhance the mathematics learning outcomes of grade 1 students at SD IT PERMATA. This study employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, with grade 1 students at SD IT PERMATA as the subjects, focusing on their mathematics learning outcomes regarding the measurement of object lengths. The action research was conducted over two cycles, comprising initial reflection, action planning, implementation, observation/data collection, and reflection phases. Data were gathered through observations and written tests using observation sheets and descriptive questions. Descriptive analysis was employed for data analysis. The results of the action research indicate that (1) the application of the PBL model effectively improves mathematics learning outcomes in the measurement of object lengths, and (2) implementing the Problem Based Learning model shows a significant improvement in student learning outcomes in Mathematics, particularly in the measurement of object lengths in grade 1 at SD IT PERMATA. This is evident from the increase in the average score from 56.93 pre-action, with 10 students (33.33%) meeting the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), to 70.00 in cycle I. Moreover, there was an increase in the KKM standard from 63.33% in cycle I to 86.67% in cycle II, with 26 students (86.67%) meeting the KKM standards

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the increase in students' mathematical literacy skills using the CANVA application. The subjects of this research were class VIII students at SMP Al Washliyah 8 Medan for the 2023/2024 academic year. The instrument in this research is a mathematical literacy ability test using CANVA learning media. There was an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills using CANVA learning media, the average score increased from trial I of 71.43 to 89.28 in trial II. The average score for each indicator of mathematical literacy ability also increased from trial I to trial II. trial I did not provide sufficient classical completeness (85%) of the number of subjects, so the researchers continued with trial II. Judging from classical completeness, at least 85% of the number of subjects has been completed. So the students' classical completion of trial II has reached >85%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetah gambaran kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan populasi penelitiannya adalahwa kelas 7D SMPN 3. Kosambi Kabupaten Tangerang sejumlah 30 siswa dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 3 siswa berdasarkan kategori tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mengenakan tes tulis kemampuan berpikir kritis berbentuk essay dan wawancara berdasarkan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa ang berkemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi mampu menyelesaikan soal dengan menggunakan 4 indikator yaitu interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi, siswa yang berkemampuandang mampu menyelesaikan soal dengan 2 indikator yaitu analisis dan evaluasi, sedangkan siswa yang berkemampuan berpikir kritis rendah mampu menyelesaikan soal dengan menggunakan I indikator yaitu interpretasi.

Abstract

Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa disebabkan oleh pembelajaran masih bersifat individual. Selain itu, model pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi trigonometri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X 2 SMA Swadaya Pulau Rakyat sebanyak 47 orang. Objek penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar siswa pada materi trigonometri dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, setelah pemberian tindakan diperoleh pada siklus I terdapat 38 orang (80,85%) dari 47 orang siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar dengan nilai rata-rata 73,57. Oleh karena itu kelas tersebut belum mencapai ketuntasan secara klasikal yaitu kurang dari 85% siswa yang telah mencapai KKM. Dan pada siklus II terdapat 41 orang (87,23%) dari 47 orang yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar dengan nilai rata-rata 78,70. Maka dari itu kelas tersebut telah mencapai ketuntasan secara klasikal yaitu lebih dari 85% yang telah mencapai KKM. Karena telah memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan belajar siswa dan mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I dan siklus II maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi trigonometri.Kata kunci: Trigonometri, Model Pembelajaran Numbered Head Together

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of using problem-based learning methodology in the domain of mathematics education. This research falls into the Pre-Experimental Design category, which specifically utilizes one experimental group without a control group. This research consisted of a group of 25 class VIII students at SMP Darma Medan. This research specifically examines three of the four elements used to assess learning effectiveness. Variables that are considered in this context include educational goals, activities and obligations carried out by students, as well as responses and comments given by students. The instruments used consist of academic achievement assessments, monitoring sheets to observe student engagement, and surveys to assess student feedback. Descriptive analysis shows that the mathematics learning outcomes achieved are relatively high with an average score of 82.48. Regarding the evaluation of learning outcomes (1) 5 students (20%) did not meet the criteria, while 20 students (80%) achieved individual proficiency benchmarks. Thus, it can be concluded that students' mathematics learning outcomes after implementing problem-based learning strategies meet the requirements for achieving comprehensive classical learning goals. (2) The average level of student participation is 80.4%, thus meeting the criteria for active student involvement. (3) The student learning response rate was 80.5%, indicating acceptable results. After evaluating the three efficacy criteria, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model has been effectively applied to class VIII students at SMP Darma Medan.Keywords: effectiveness, mathematics, problem-based learning models,

Abstract

This study aims to apply differentiated learning to improve mathematical problem solving skills. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design. This research consists of a cycle in cycle I which consists of four stages, namely (1) planning, which is the first stage in the research, the first stage which is carried out by compiling a learning plan and research instruments in accordance with the previous stages, (2) implementation, at the beginning of this the researcher carries out the learning process in accordance with the learning plan which has been previously planned, (3) implementation, this stage is carried out throughout the learning process to carry out all student activities in the implementation activities. test instrument to see students' problem solving abilities (4) reflection, this is done to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the learning process that has been carried out. This research was carried out at SMPN 2 Rawa Belonging with research subjects being students of class VII-1 in the academic year 2023/2024 with a total of 30 students consisting of 14 male students and 16 female students. Based on the results of this study, it is shown that the results of the test of students' mathematical problem solving ability increase for each cycle, so it can be concluded that the implementation of differentiated learning can increase students' mathematical problem solving ability. Keywords: Application, Differentiated Learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability
