Abstract

The mind mapping learning model is a learning model that uses a combination of writing, images, symbols and colors at the same time so that it can maximize the function of the right and left brain to make it easier to remember and understand material concepts. This is the key to effective learning. The mind mapping learning model has often been used by previous researchers to test its effectiveness in increasing understanding of concepts in scientific knowledge (IPA). However, in this research, to test the power of the mind mapping learning model on the learning outcomes of understanding concepts in the social sciences group, namely in the Pancasila Education course in the Pancasila Ideology material which explains events and each event has an implied or abstract meaning so it needs to be concreted, the figures involved, the timeline or dynamics of events, with the characteristics of the material, Mind Mapping is needed to create the main ideas of the material to make it easier for students in the learning process. This research is experimental research which aims to test the effect of the mind mapping model on learning outcomes in understanding concepts. The results of the analysis of calculating the average final ability score of students (posttest) in the experimental group were 79.43. The results of the analysis of the calculation of the average final ability score of students (posttest) in the control group were 71.87. Based on the results of the questionnaire, data was obtained that students liked learning Pancasila Education with Pancasila Ideology material using the Mind Mapping model, because it has been proven to help students understand the concept of Pancasila Ideology material. Students are also motivated to learn Pancasila Education through the phases in the Mind Mapping model and the character of the model through interesting content.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the characteristics of the transformational activities of Indonesian students in resolving problems based on cognitive conflict. The research employed a phenomenological approach with five students as subjects. The research instruments included tests and interview guidelines, and the analysis was conducted using the constant comparative method. Change-based activities are a good way to solve cognitive conflict issues, including full rule-based unexpected results, full rule-based matching problem parts, incomplete rule-based unexpected results, and incomplete rule-based matching problem parts. Exploring these characteristics serves as a foundation for instructors to enhance the quality of instructional design. Practically, a profound understanding of these characteristics can provide a solid foundation for educators to enhance their instructional design quality. By exploring and comprehending how students address cognitive conflict, instructors can design more effective learning experiences that align with the student's needs.

Abstract

The use of the Flipped Classroom (FC) Model has become a global phenomenon in the last decade, and has had a significant impact on mathematics learning objectives. Nevertheless, the scientific literature shows inconsistent results in testing the underlying theoretical assumptions in this model. This meta-analysis study collected analyses of 42 effect sizes from 31 journal articles and international proceedings between 2014 and 2024. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) program was used as a calculation tool, with the Hedges coefficient used to calculate the effect size at a 95% confidence level. The results of analysis using the random-effect estimation model show that the overall effect size is 1.06 (large effect category). This shows that the use of the FC model has a relatively high positive influence on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) mathematics when compared to the conventional model. In addition, analysis of research characteristics shows that the effectiveness of using the FC model can be increased by considering factors such as the type of platform used, the type of FC model applied, educational level, and the capacity of the experimental class. These findings provide valuable guidance for educators in the future use of the FC model, particularly in developing students' mathematics HOTS. Abstract

Conventional learning has limitations, leading researchers to propose personalized web-based learning tailored to individual student characteristics. This study focuses on enhancing web-based learning at Bhinneka PGRI University in Indonesia by customizing content and activities to align with students' learning styles. The research methodology uses a quasi-experimental design involving 72 information technology education students. Data collection includes assessments of learning styles, concept mastery, and concept application through tests. Descriptive statistical analysis shows that personalized web-based learning has a more positive influence on the mastery and application of concepts compared to non-personalized learning. There is no significant correlation between personalized web-based learning and students' learning styles. The findings indicate differences in mastery and application of concepts among students using web-based learning, but no disparities based on different learning styles. In conclusion, personalized web-based learning leads to variations in mastery and application of concepts compared to non-personalized methods, with no discernible discrepancy in the mastery and application of concepts between students with different learning styles. Research indicates that personalized web-based learning is more effective in enhancing mastery and application of concepts compared to non-personalized methods. By customizing web-based learning to individual learning styles, students can enhance the quality and outcomes of their learning.

Abstract

In the current digital era, English education is becoming increasingly important. By integrating English language learning with digital learning media, it is hoped to create a more dynamic and student-centered learning environment. The goal is to facilitate students in achieving the set learning objectives. This research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of interactive multimedia in improving English vocabulary comprehension in English subjects at the junior high school level. The research method employed is an experiment with a quasi-experimental design, involving pre and posttests in both control and experimental classes. The sample consists of 32 students from class VIII B (experimental group) and 32 students from class VIII C (control group) in SMPN 1 Jatisrono, selected using cluster random sampling from various classes. The experimental group receives treatment through learning activities using interactive multimedia, while the control group does not use interactive multimedia in the learning process. Data collection is conducted through attitude scale questionnaires filled out by junior high school students. The research findings indicate that the use of interactive multimedia significantly influences the improvement of students' English vocabulary comprehension. This is evidenced by the significant increase in students' English vocabulary knowledge after undergoing learning with interactive multimedia. Interactive multimedia is considered effective in influencing students' comprehension and helping them achieve learning objectives. Thus, interactive multimedia can be considered a suitable learning medium for English subjects at the junior high school level. The use of technology in such learning is crucial to keep up with the times and ensure that students have skills relevant to current global needs.
