Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of project-based learning tools to improve students' communication skills. The design used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D model (define, design, develop, & disseminate). This research is only limited to the develop stage, namely validation by six expert validators with supporting data in the form of physics education student responses to the learning tools developed. The learning tools developed include the syllabus, lesson plans, LKPD, and observation sheet instruments. The results of the study based on expert validation showed that the learning tools developed had very valid criteria on the syllabus, lesson plans, LKPD, and observation sheet instruments. The average result of the calculation of student responses is 99%. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that project-based learning tools are feasible to use in the physics learning process to improve students' communication skills.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum is oriented to the development of the 21st century which is faced with various challenges in the world of education. Things that cause problems in implementing the 2013 curriculum are teacher competencies that are still lacking, online learning facilities are not evenly distributed, and the division of learning hours using a shift system causes the quality of students and education itself to be lacking. This study aims to provide solutions to problems faced in schools, namely by developing HOTS integrated worksheets to improve students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is development (R&D) which refers to the 4-D model, namely define, design, develop, disseminate. The feasibility of the HOTS integrated LKPD media was obtained from the results of expert validation, LKPD media trials in the form of practicality analysis and effectiveness analysis. The improvement of students' critical thinking skills is obtained from the standard value of the N-gain test of students' critical thinking abilities. The results of the study indicate that the HOTS integrated LKPD has been produced which is suitable to be used to improve students' critical thinking skills with a standard N-gain value of 0.71 in the high category.

Abstract

Due to the spread and increasing number of positive cases due to the COVID-19 virus in Indonesia Especially Sape, Bima NTB, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) recommends ways to reduce the spread of the virus by conducting online learning, this study explores the effect of cooperative learning on student learning outcomes in terms of interst in learning. The cooperative learning model used is Think Write Pair Share (TWPS) assisted by a learning management system (LMS) to lear during pandemic. The LMS used is Schoology. This research is an experimental study using a pre-test post-test control group design model. The research subjects consisted of two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. All groups were given a pre-test (an instrument to measure learning outcomes) and a learning interest questionnaire using the ARCS model (attention, relevance, self-confidence) with thirty-four questions, the experimental group was given treatment in the form of teaching using Schoology-assisted cooperative learning TWPS. The control group was given conventional learning, after treatment, all groups were given a posttest and a learning interest questionnaire. The last stage is a data processing and data analysis using ANCOVA, the result is that Schoology assisted TPS cooperative learning can improve student learning outcomes with a significance level of 0.005.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a physics e-module based on a multiple representation approach to improve understanding of the concepts of prospective physics teachers on the kinematics of straight motion and parabolic motion. This type of research is research and development. The development stage in this study uses a 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The instruments used in this study consisted of; validation sheets, questionnaires, and concept understanding test instruments. Validation sheets are used to obtain assessments and suggestions for the initial product draft that was developed in terms of material, media, and language aspects. There are 3 experts involved in this validation. Based on the validation results, it shows that the initial draft of the e-module is feasible to use with a very good category for all aspects (material, media, and language). After going through the revision stage in accordance with the validator's suggestion, then a limited trial was carried out on 9 (nine) prospective physics teachers. Based on the results of the limited trial, it is shown that the module is feasible to proceed to a wider trial stage. The wider trial aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of e-modules in increasing the understanding of the concepts of prospective physics teachers. Based on the results of a wider trial, it shows that e-modules can improve understanding of concepts in the medium category with an N-gain score of 0.41. Thus, it can be concluded that the e-modules that have been developed are feasible and can be used as alternative learning to improve learning outcomes. understanding the concept of prospective physics teacher during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The purpose of this study are to determine whether there was a significant effect of the application of the Problem Solving Laboratory learning model on high school physics learning achievement and to identify improvements in high school physics learning achievement by using the Problem Solving Laboratory learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent control group design. The population of this study is the entire class X even semester of MA Al-Islamiyah 1 Sumber Batu Blumbungan Larangan Pamekasan, while the samples are 2 classes X IPA consist of 22 students each selected using purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-test test in the SPSS V. 25 program, obtained a value of   >  (4.334 > 2.018) and a sig value (2-tailed) = 0.000 or < 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of application of the Problem Solving Laboratory learning model to high school physics learning achievements. The results of data analysis using the N-Gain test showed the N-gain value in the experimental class was 0.7823 or G > 0.7. Thus, it is concluded that the improvement of high school physics learning achievements using the Problem Solving Laboratory learning model is in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential for landslides in the Ayudia housing location, Semarang. The data obtained in this study were apparent resistivity data using the geoelectric resistivity method of the Schlumberger configuration. Measurements were carried out on two tracks, namely the first track with a stretch length of 150 m and electrode spacing of 10 m and the second track with a stretch length of 75 m and electrode spacing of 5 m. Res2dinv software was used to display the resistivity value on each track so that a color image is seen that describes the change in resistivity in each rock layer. The results of the study indicated the identification of the location of the slip plane on the first track with a layer that is suspected to be the slip plane, namely limestone with resistivity values (307-939) Ωm and is at a depth of (19,9-26.9) m. This layer had a higher resistivity contrast than the top layer of the slip plane in the form of sandstone which can store water content. Thus, it could be concluded that the first track identified the potential for landslides to occur.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of crossword puzzle learning media with discovery learning models on student learning outcomes on the concept of sound waves. This research is a quasi-experimental type of research using one class (one samples) only the experimental class using the One Group pretest posttest design. In this study, learning was conducted three times online with the discovery learning model. The instrument used in data collection is an essay test of learning outcomes. The method used to analyze the data is descriptive analysis technique, namely normality test, hypothesis testing with a significance level of 5%. Based on hypothesis testing using parametric statistics t test obtained tCalculate (5.789 > ttabel (2.024) with a significant level = 0.05. where hypothesis one (H_1) is accepted. This shows that there are differences in student learning outcomes before and after learning using learning media crossword puzzle with the discovery learning model. This result is also shown from the increase in student learning outcomes on the posttest test which is higher than in the pretest test with an average value of 76.03% and 65.71%. Thus the use of crossword puzzle media with the discovery learning model affects the results student learning

Abstract

Covid-19 has an impact on education. In order to maintain the quality of learning, online mode learning innovation is carried out with the application of project based learning through experiments in the application of Bernoulli's Law on used bottle leaks. Online learning at SMAN 1 Metro usually uses Problem Based Learning. In this study will be used PjBl to increase the creativity of students. This research aims to explore students' ability in problem solving in dynamic fluid concepts. This type of research is quantitative with a Quasi Experimental approach, and the design used is Nonequivalent Group Design. The subject of the study was Sma N 1 Metro in class XI IPA which numbered 67 students. The analysis method uses the N-Gain Test and the different tests between the two sample groups. Results: N-Gain in experimental class by 65.74% and in control class by 25.04%. Based on hypothesis tests, it was found that the effect of applying madel project based learning in improving student learning outcomes in Bernoulli Law material. Project based learning model in online learning is also effective in developing 4Cs.

Abstract

The study aims at describing the composition of the cognitive system within the national exams of high school physics questions in 2019. The theoretical framework applied in analysing the exam refers to Taxonomy of Introductory Physics Problem (TIPP). Then, this study applies a quantitative descriptive design by conducting document analysis towards the aforementioned exam, which consists of 40 item questions. Interestingly, the findings indicate that the analysed questions have be designed based on the TIPP principles, referring to the categories of remembering, understanding, analysing, and utilising knowledge with 3, 2, 15, and 20 questions respectively. It indicates that the questions for each category are not evenly distributed as the categories of remembering and understanding have lower number questions compared to others. Such evidence could truly become essential insights for the national exam question development team to consider the portion comparison of the question items for the four categories within TIPP.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to see how much influence the level of parental education had on students’ motivation to learn physics in two secondary schools in Kontukowuna District, Muna Regency. This research is quantitative research, with the population used is all students of class XI science at SMAN 1 Kontukowuna and all students of class VIII at SMPN 1 Kontukowuna. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with the category of random sampling, where the samples used were 28 people for high school and 30 people for junior high school. The data analysis technique uses simple linear regression analysis through SPSS 16. Data analysis using the t-test regression equation shows a significant influence of the students' parents' education level on their motivation to learn physics, 94.1% for SMAN 1 Kontukowuna and SMPN 1 Kontukowuna with a significant effect of 84.8%. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the level of parental education on students' learning motivation
