Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of reading literacy skills among elementary school students. This is caused by the lack of adequate reading infrastructure, including libraries and limited variety of books. The purpose of this study is to find out how the use of the Let's Read application affects the reading literacy skills of 5th grade elementary school students. This study uses quantitative research with quasi-experimental methods. The design used in this study was a pre-experimental design where only one class was given a pre-test and a post-test, namely the experimental class without a control or comparison class. The questionnaire became the instrument used in this study. As for the respondents in this study were all 5th grade students, totaling 28 people. The treatment was given for 10 meetings. Data processing shows that the Let's Read application has a significant impact on the reading literacy skills of fifth grade students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the strategy of implementing social media in introducing the concept of ecotourism to students of SMK Swasta Kristen Tomosa 2. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach, with the research location at SMKSwasta Kristen Tomosa 2. The research used an online questionnaire with Google Form. The results showed that social media proved to be an effective tool to reach students and convey information about ecotourism. Facebook is the social media platform that they often use. Social media can raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and encourage student participation in ecotourism activities. This study provides several suggestions to improve the effectiveness of using social media in ecotourism education. These suggestions include utilizing social media platforms that are popular among students, developing interesting and informative content, using relevant hashtags to expand reach, and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of social media. Thus, it is hoped that students can gain a better understanding of the concept of ecotourism and actively participate in environmental conservation efforts.

Abstract

Wonoharjo Village has the potential to support the village government to develop economic activities. The village has the potential for local eucalyptus oil, which is used as one of the villagers' economic resources. However, no product innovation has been developed so that the selling power of the community is still low. Students of KKN Research Group 19, Sebelas Maret University Surakarta in 2024, initiated entrepreneurship education through training in making aromatherapy candles and natural soap with essential oil additives in the form of eucalyptus oil in Wonoharjo Village, Kemusu, Boyolali, Central Java. The women participating in the PKK Wonoharjo Village participated enthusiastically in the training on the utilization of eucalyptus oil into high-value products such as aromatherapy candles and natural soap. Aromatherapy candles and natural soaps are natural products used for health purposes and protection of the body so that it is expected to be able to increase the selling power of the community through existing competenciesDesa Wonoharjo memiliki potensi yang menjadi daya dukung bagi pemerintahan desa untuk dapat dikembangkan menjadi kegiatan ekonomi. Desa ini memiliki potensi minyak kayu putih lokalnya yang dijadikan sebagai salah satu sumber ekonomi warga desa. Namun, belum ada inovasi produk yang dikembangkan sehingga daya jual masyarakat masih rendah. Mahasiswa KKN Grup Riset Kelompok 19 Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta tahun 2024, menginisiasi pendidikan kewirausahaan melalui pelatihan pembuatan lilin aromaterapi dan sabun natural dengan bahan tambahan minyak esensial berupa minyak kayu putih di Desa Wonoharjo, Kemusu, Boyolali, Jawa Tengah. Ibu-ibu peserta PKK Desa Wonoharjo mengikuti dengan cukup antusias pelatihan pemanfaatan minyak kayu putih menjadi produk bernilai guna tinggi seperti lilin aromaterapi dan sabun natural. Lilin aromaterapi dan sabun natural merupakan produk alami yang digunakan untuk keperluan kesehatan dan perlindungan pada tubuh sehingga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan daya jual masyarakat melalui otensi yang ada.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of profitability, leverage and company size on Tax Avoidance in manufacturing companies for the period 2018 - 2022. This research is quantitative with a research sample of 11 companies. The data analysis method uses multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 25. The results of this research reveal that profitability has a negative effect on tax avoidance. Meanwhile, leverage and company size have no effect on tax avoidance.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to understand the concept of evaluating the affective domain, its challenges and implementation strategies in the independent campus learning (MBKM) curriculum at state Islamic religious universities (PTKIN). The method used is library research (Library Research) by collecting data in the form of journal articles, books, these and other sources relevant to the research theme. Data collection was carried out using documentation techniques (documentary study) and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The research results show that 1) The concept of evaluating the affective domain in Merdeka Belajar Kurikulum Merdeka (MBKM) at state Islamic religious universities (PTKIN) consists of five levels: receiving A1, responding to A2, assessing A3, organizing A4 to characterizing with an A4 value. 2) There are five challenges in evaluating the affective domain in independent learning campuses (MBKM) at state Islamic religious universities (PTKIN): Complexity of measuring affective aspects, Diversity of student backgrounds, Integration of religious and spiritual values, Limitations of evaluation instruments, Need for resources competent human resources. 3) The implementation strategy for evaluating the affective domain in Merdeka Belajar Kurikulum Merdeka (MBKM) at state Islamic religious universities (PTKIN) can be created by creating an instrument table containing the observed value aspects: aspect 1, aspect 2, aspect and so on as needed and containing percentage in each aspect. In discussion activities, for example, what is assessed are aspects of participation, contribution and class activity. The criteria are: asking questions, submitting comments on questions and Ethics.

Abstract

Education financing is one of the central systems in education. This study aims to find out about financing to support the implementation of education. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The results of the study show that the use of education financing is oriented towards the head of educational operational financing that supports improving the quality of education that is right on target by fulfilling the school financial management governance system that must be understood in the implementation of education financing, namely the concept of education budgeting, classifying activities, determining standardization, and determining costs unit in education budgeting. Education financing management has three important stages, namely planning, implementation stage and evaluation (evaluation) stage. These three stages when applied to financial management are the financial planning (budgeting) stage, and the implementation (accounting) stage, and the appraisal or auditing stage. With an education financing management system, it is hoped that it will be able to support, guarantee the development of the quality and quality of education and the process of organizing teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to explain whether the application of the differentiated Problem Based Learning (PBL) method was able to increase the independence of biology learning in class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Poto Tano for the 2022/2023 academic year. This research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in 2 cycles. The research subjects were class XI-2 students, totaling 33 students. The data collection technique used is observation which will be carried out during the learning process. The results of this research indicate that the application of the differentiated Problem Based Learning (PBL) method can increase the biology learning independence of class XI 2 students at SMA Negeri 1 Poto Tano for the 2022/2023 academic year. This can be proven by the increase in student independence in learning from cycle 1 by 68.67%, to 85.45% in cycle 2

Abstract

This study has investigated EFL Students’ perceptions toward watching vlog experience for speaking skill. The focus of the research is to know student’s perceptions watching vlog for learning English in speaking skill including the advantages of watching Vlog and limitations from watching Vlog  experience for speaking skill  faced by them. The research was conducted at University PGRI Sumatera Barat. A qualitative method was employed to gather in-depth insights from the participants. The research involved semi-structured interviews with three EFL students from English Department from University of PGRI Sumatera Barat. The participants were selected based on their interest in watching vlogs for language learning and their willingness to share their experiences. Based on the findings of the interview data, watching vlogs experience for speaking skill was effective because has many advantages compared to disadvantages. Students perception towards watching vlog experience show that students has positive cognitive impression because all of the participants have been learning English since middle school, indicating a long term commitment to learning the language for improving their speaking skills. They reported that vlogs helped them improve their pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency. The participants also appreciated the real-life scenarios and authentic language used in vlogs, which helped them learn the type of English used in daily lives. This study is significant because its findings can be used to inform the development/ self learning for EFL students that might enchance their speaking skills in English language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze "Improving English Reading Skills through the Audiovisual Text Media" among first-semester students of the English Language and Culture Study Program at Sumbawa University of Technology. This research is a quantitative study using a pre-experimental design approach (nondesign). The design consists of a one-group pretest-posttest design with a single predetermined group. The research sample comprises 10 students. The research instrument used to collect data is a test, which includes a pretest and a posttest. The results of this study indicate that the use of the Audiovisual Text Media can improve students' reading ability. This is supported by the analysis using the Paired Test, where the t-value is -42.052 with a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000. Comparing this with the tabulated significance value (0.05), it is evident that there is a difference between the pretest and posttest scores regarding improving English reading skills through the audiovisual text media.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of teacher characteristics on student learning motivation. The type of research used is quantitative research methods. The data processed is the result of data collection through the distribution of questionnaires given to each classThe research results obtained by the author, namely hypothesis testing, show that the value of tcount > ttable is 3.109 > 2.064. Therefore, the value that has been obtained can be said to mean that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted with a significance value of 0.005 < 0.05. It is said that there is an influence of teacher characteristics on learning motivation in economics learning for class XI IPS 1 MAN 2 Bone.
