Abstract

This research examines the process of internalizing Islamic education through the Jamaah Tabligh movement in shaping the religious character of the Wetu Telu indigenous community in Bayan, Lombok. The Wetu Telu community is an indigenous community with unique Islamic practices, blending local traditions with Islamic teachings. The presence of the Jamaah Tabligh movement, as a transnational da'wah (Islamic missionary) movement, has significantly influenced the transformation of religious understanding and practices among the local community. This research aims to analyze the da'wah strategies of Jamaah Tabligh in internalizing Islamic educational values, identify the dynamics of interaction between normative Islamic teachings and Wetu Telu local traditions, and evaluate the impact of the movement on the formation of the community's religious character. A qualitative approach using ethnographic methods was employed to collect data through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies. The results show that Jamaah Tabligh applies a persuasive and cultural approach in the process of internalizing Islamic education, emphasizing practical worship, noble morals, and purification of faith. This internalization process faces challenges in the form of cultural resistance and concerns about the loss of local identity. However, cultural negotiation occurs, resulting in a synthesis between universal Islamic values and local wisdom. The impact of this movement is evident in increased awareness of worship, strengthening of community morals, and a gradual shift in religious practices towards a more orthodox understanding of Islam, although some members of the community still maintain elements of Wetu Telu tradition as part of their cultural identity.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have significant potential for growth; however, they continue to face various challenges, particularly in digital adaptation. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of PT Telkom Indonesia seeks to strengthen the digital capacity of MSMEs through learning processes based on non-formal education methods. This article aims to analyze the role of non-formal education in strengthening the digital capacity of MSMEs through the CSR program of PT Telkom Indonesia, which is implemented through training, mentoring, and the enhancement of digital access. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach employing a literature study, with documentation as the data collection technique to analyze digitalization efforts in MSME empowerment as part of the CSR program implementation of PT Telkom Indonesia. The findings indicate that training improves human resource capacity, mentoring strengthens business management, legal compliance, and MSME development, while the utilization of digital technology enhances competitiveness and expands market access. The CSR program can thus be understood as a practice of non-formal education that contributes to strengthening the digital capacity of MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the increase in the efficiency of teachers' administrative tasks before and after using the artificial intelligence (AI)-based Teachy application at SMP Negeri 1 Poli-Polia. The main problem underlying this study is the high burden of teachers' administrative learning, which results in limited time for developing innovative and student-centered learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design through a one-group pretest–posttest model. The research subjects involved all 18 teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Poli-Polia, with a sampling technique using total sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire on the efficiency of teachers' administrative tasks and learning device documentation, then analyzed using the N-gain test, paired t-test, and Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was an increase in the efficiency of teachers' administrative tasks in the moderate category after using the Teachy application. In addition, there was a significant difference between the efficiency of teachers' administrative tasks before and after using the Teachy application, and the use of the Teachy application was proven to have a significant effect on the efficiency of teachers' administrative tasks. These findings indicate that the use of the AI-based Teachy application can be an effective solution in reducing the administrative burden on teachers and supporting improvements in the quality of learning management in junior high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher strategies in administering remedial exams to improve the learning achievement of arithmetic operations in elementary schools. The study used a qualitative case study design with a qualitative approach conducted at Muhammadiyah Condongcatur Elementary School, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The research subjects consisted of one fourth-grade teacher and two fourth-grade students who experienced difficulties in learning mathematics. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, then analyzed interactively through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that teacher strategies in administering remedial exams include four main aspects, namely planning, implementation, monitoring or supervision, and remedial strategies. In the planning aspect, teachers make special schedules, give preliminary assignments, adjust the form of questions, and communicate intensively with students and parents. In the implementation aspect, remedial exams are carried out in a controlled manner with an emphasis on honesty, independence, and teacher guidance. The monitoring aspect is carried out through gradual corrections and re-discussions to diagnose student misconceptions. Remedial strategies are applied flexibly, adaptively, and repeatedly until learning completeness is achieved according to the principles of mastery learning. The main obstacle identified was students' low mastery of the prerequisite material. This study concluded that pedagogically and diagnostically managed remedial exams can significantly improve learning outcomes, not just improve academic grades.

Abstract

Gender inequality remains one of the most pressing challenges on the global development agenda. Although significant progress has been achieved through the MDGs and SDGs, the gap between men and women in economic access, political representation, and personal security remains very wide. This study aims to explore the sociological roots of gender inequality, its impact on the global economy, and how the currents of globalization and digitalization create both new opportunities and threats to gender justice. The method used in this study is a comprehensive analysis through an in-depth literature review of patriarchal structures, intersectionality theory, and the dynamics of gender issues in the 21st century. The analysis covers the mechanisms of perpetuating patriarchy through the institutions of family, education, and religion, as well as its manifestations in the capitalist economy and digital space. The results show that patriarchal hegemony remains a structure that is difficult to dismantle and is transforming into more complex forms in the digital era, such as technology-mediated gender-based violence. The gender wage gap and unpaid care work continue to hinder global economic potential, while women's representation in strategic decision-making remains far from targets. Intersectionality theory emphasizes that the discrimination experienced by women overlaps with issues of race, class, and colonialism, thus requiring non-monolithic solutions. This study concludes that gender transformation is not merely a moral issue but a prerequisite for the progress of civilization, demanding legal reform, inclusive education, and cross-national commitment to deconstruct oppressive hegemonic structures.

Abstract

The phenomenon of secondary school students’ involvement in political protests in Indonesia, Nepal, and Serbia during August–September 2025 emerged almost simultaneously, yet exhibited divergent patterns of mobilization. At the same time, scholarship on social movements has remained dominated by studies of university students, while secondary students are often relegated to the margins, with virtually no cross-national comparative analyses available. This study aims to compare forms of solidarity, agency, and institutional support surrounding students in the three cases by integrating the perspectives of Political Opportunity Structure (POS) and structuralism. Methodologically, the research employs a comparative study based on scholarly literature, media reports, and relevant academic documents. The findings reveal that Nepal demonstrates generational solidarity that fosters transformative agency; Serbia illustrates institutional solidarity that generates moral agency; whereas Indonesia operates within a structural vacuum, producing only a fragile form of pseudo-agency. These variations are further shaped by historical trajectories, economic inequalities, educational institutions, political culture, and geographic conditions. The study underscores that student agency is relational, constituted through the interplay between external political opportunities and the availability of internal structural supports. Normatively, the findings suggest that when students receive institutional backing or inclusive spaces for participation, they can function as moral and political agents reinforcing state accountability. Conversely, state repression does not produce uniform outcomes: in Serbia, repression strengthened moral consolidation through symbolic peaceful acts; in Nepal, state pressure fueled coordinated radical escalation; while in Indonesia, repression accelerated fragmentation, rendering student protests fragile, anarchic, and vulnerable to manipulation.

Abstract

The press, as an information medium, is a tool for conveying or obtaining various important information, such as political, entertainment, social, and other issues. Through the press, people can learn or obtain useful information. Meanwhile, the press, as an educational medium, means that the information or news disseminated through the media also serves to educate, contain truth, educate, and encourage good deeds. Freedom of the press constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of democracy and the rule of law. In Indonesia, press freedom is constitutionally guaranteed under Articles 28E and 28F of the 1945 Constitution and further regulated by Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press. This article aims to analyze the legal protection of press freedom in Indonesia and the challenges faced in its implementation. This study employs normative legal research using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that although press freedom is normatively well protected, practical challenges remain, including the criminalization of journalists, the use of ambiguous provisions under the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (EIT Law), and political as well as economic pressures on media institutions. Therefore, strengthening regulatory frameworks, ensuring consistent law enforcement, and enhancing media independence are essential to guarantee responsible press freedom within the framework of a rule-of-law state.

Abstract

This study analyzes  the factors influencing parental decision-making when selecting a kindergarten (TK) in South Semarang, Indonesia. It examines the direct and indirect effects of the marketing mix—conceptualized through price, place, and physical evidence—and brand image on the school choice process, with trust hypothesized as a critical mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a structured questionnaire distributed via WhatsApp to parents of kindergarten students. Data from 153 valid responses were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0.0.9. The results confirm that both the marketing mix and brand image exert significant positive direct effects on parental trust and, subsequently, on the school decision-making process. Trust fully mediates the relationship between the marketing mix and decision-making and partially mediates the relationship between brand image and decision-making. Notably, brand image demonstrates the strongest direct influence on the final choice. The model explains a substantial proportion of variance in trust (65.8%) and in the decision-making process (67.8%). This research provides a nuanced, context-specific model for early childhood education (PAUD) marketing within a developing urban setting.

Abstract

The Student Passport system in private schools of East Java represents an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based educational service innovation positioned as the primary strategic instrument in school digital transformation. This service operates through integrated involvement of management, teachers, students, and parents to respond to modern educational needs dynamics. This research aims to analyze AI's effectiveness as a decision-support system in discipline management, academic efficiency improvement, health monitoring, and mapping sustainability determinants. The study employs descriptive qualitative methods with triangulation data collection techniques based on effectiveness theories by Sutrisno, Siagian, and Hasibuan. Research findings reveal AI functions effectively as the primary driver of school operations. In disciplinary aspects, the system provides objective data supporting real-time decision-making. In academic domains, AI serves as an intelligent assistant facilitating automated lesson planning preparation and mass exam correction, while also functioning as an information access gateway for students. System effectiveness extends to health services through predictive analysis features delivering medical information and preventive action recommendations for student welfare. Managerially, efficiency is demonstrated through paperless budget savings and accelerated information distribution. Success supporting factors include management commitment (top-down policy) and server infrastructure stability, while inhibiting factors comprise network capacity limitations (peak load bottlenecks) and low digital literacy among certain parents. The research concludes that schools have successfully established robust digital ecosystems but require network infrastructure strengthening and external user education to ensure Smart School sustainability.
