Abstract

Discipline is the key to educational success. One indicator that shows the level of student discipline in the education process is the level of student participation in school. The presence of students in schools is closely related to achievement. Therefore, schools in Indonesia, continue to strive to achieve high levels. The use of presence by using barcodes is one of the educational innovations that is expected to improve student discipline so that student achievement increases. The purpose of this study is 1) To explore how the process of using presence by using a barcode; 2) discuss 1) how the attendance process is done by using a barcode in increasing student discipline; 2) Knowing the supporting factors of applying the presence of barcode in schools. 3) Knowing the inhibiting factors of the application of barcode barcodes in schools. This type of research is a descriptive study with qualitative. The research subjects were determined based on purposive sampling technique. The research subjects consisted of administrative staff, teachers, and students. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data collected is equipped with interactive deductive data analysis techniques that are collected collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and completing conclusions. The results showed: 1) The process of implementing presence by using a barcode to improve student discipline is done by making a barcode on students, students do a barcode scan on each student, on direct barcode scanning automatically their expected name on the computer, while students who do not enter are written manually according to their description; 2) Supporting factors for the implementation of barcode initiatives in schools is that there is support from parents and all school members, in addition to that there are also infrastructure facilities such as barcode machines and electricity. 3) Inhibiting factors The application of barcodes in schools is a compilation that occurs due to power outages and damage to barcode machines, as well as when barcode guards are not present at school.

Abstract

Religious culture is applied in schools so that the good habits of students, so that the strategy of developing religious culture is essential to be applied to schools so that students have a noble character in Islamic education. The purpose of this study is to describe the strategy of developing a religious culture to shape students' character. This research is qualitative. Data collection obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. This study's subject was determined based on a purposive sampling technique with information from the homeroom teacher. Checking the validity of the data starts with using a check and continues with the triangulation technique. The results showed that the strategy of developing a culture of religious and improving the character of students at SD Muhammadiyah Tonggalan, 1) creating a religious atmosphere in schools including allocating half an hour to learn to read the Qur'an before the lesson begins, do the Dhuha, Dhuhr, Asr prayer,  Ramadan fasting, qurban worship, hajj rituals, social services, Sunday morning teachings,  also (2) habituation of Islamic values. The research findings expected to illustrate that the strategy of developing religious culture can shape students' character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan jumlah siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin Gunungkidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin Gunungkidul. Penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Proses pengambilan data dengan observasi, wawanacara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik Pemeriksaan data mengunakan triangulasi sumber, triangulasi teknik, dan triangulasi waktu. Analisis data berupa Reduksi data, display data dan verifikasi data. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa SMP Muhammadiyah Al Mujahidin dalam membangun kepercayaan masyarakat tidak lepas dari peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang memiliki beberapa strategi sebagai berikut : 1) penyampaian visi dan misi yang jelas, 2) mendorong guru untuk meningkatkan profesioanalismenya, 3) menciptakan lingkungan yang kondusif, 4) pembelajaran yang ramah siswa, 5) membangun manajemen yang kuat, 6) menciptakan kurikulum yang luas tapi seimbang, 7) penilaian dan pelaporan prestasi siswa yang bermakna, serta 8) pelibatan orang tua dan masyarakat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi praktik terbaik dalam implementasi pendidikan Adiwiyata di Sekolah Dasar dengan fokus pada pembangunan kecerdasan ekologis. Metode kualitatif digunakan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang bagaimana pendidikan Adiwiyata diterapkan dalam konteks sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini melibatkan observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dengan guru dan staf sekolah, serta analisis dokumen terkait kebijakan dan program pendidikan Adiwiyata di Sekolah Dasar. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Adiwiyata dapat menjadi salah satu cara yang dapat diandalkan dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan ekologis siswa dengan cara melibatkan mereka dalam kegiatan praktis, seperti pengelolaan sampah dan konservasi lingkungan. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang keberlanjutan lingkungan, tetapi juga membangun sikap dan perilaku pro-lingkungan yang berkelanjutan. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan Adiwiyata di sekolah dasar adalah model yang efektif untuk membangun kecerdasan ekologis siswa, dan praktik terbaik dalam implementasinya dapat memberikan panduan berharga bagi sekolah dan pendidik dalam upaya menjadikan pendidikan lebih berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The contemporary progress of the world has ushered in the era of the industrial revolution, where human existence revolves around information. Consequently, preparing graduates with high competence, capable of global competition, and adept at mastering technological advancements is imperative for individuals and the future of a nation. In the epoch of globalization, the global initiative for the school literacy movement aims to metamorphose educational institutions into literate learning hubs. Primary educational establishments, particularly elementary schools, play a pivotal role in shaping a generation poised to confront myriad challenges. Hence, fostering a novel digital culture is paramount in the modern educational landscape, facilitating the construction of a stronger national identity and readiness for the 21st-century global education era. This article aims to explore the avenues for cultivating students' personalities as lifelong learners through digital literacy, equipping them to navigate the nuances of 21st-century education and thrive in the globalized learning landscape. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this study elucidates phenomena in the contemporary environment, gathering data through observations, interviews, and document analysis.

Abstract

Balancing transcendental and worldly values through prophetic counseling is crucial for preventing mental disorders and addressing global socio-cultural challenges. Prophetic counseling focuses on spiritual and afterlife concerns, unlike traditional counseling, which centers on worldly matters. The purpose of this study is to explore prophetic values and internalization experienced by counselors at school. This study is a qualitative research that used Descriptive Phenomenological Psychology. Data were obtained by interviewing three guidance and counseling teachers from Islamic schools. Data analysis was carried out by arranging the description and categorization based on the founding of the theme that intrigued and internalized the values of prophetic counseling at school. The result showed that prophetic in school counseling by the counselors was drawn into two aspects: professional competency, which is applied in approach, strategy, technique, or method of guidance and counseling, and personality competency, which tends to reflect their personal character. Internalization of prophetic values gradually occurred through the relationship of counselor-counselee in the guidance and counseling, which has been turned into a method for adding new knowledge and improving counselor attitude and behavior

Abstract

The school principal is the key factor in achieving an excellent school. This research explores the role of the school principal in building an outstanding school. The research method used is a field research method. Data collection is conducted through interviews, and data analysis is performed using qualitative data analysis. The results of the research indicate that the role of the school principal in building an excellent school begins with the establishment of the criteria for an outstanding school, providing continuous guidance and evaluation of teacher performance, as well as providing feedback based on performance evaluations, and implementing proportional rewards and punishments.

Abstract

Extracurriculars are school programs that aim to develop students' potential, interests and talents. In addition, as a material to improve student achievement. In its implementation, good and regular management is needed so that these extracurricular activities can run well. This study aims to determine the management of extracurricular activities at SD Muhammadiyah 7 after the Covid-19 pandemic. By using qualitative methods and descriptive research types. From the results of the research, it was found that SD Muhammadiyah 7 in its management underwent a change in the management system which was initially managed by an independent institution under the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership Foundation in Bandung City, now it is managed by the school's own management. In its stages 1) Make SOP / standard extracurricular management rules. (2) Create an easier registration system for parents. (3) Make a one semester lesson plan for each type of extracurricular.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the positive experiences of education students related to learning in the Kampus Merdeka program. The research employs a qualitative method, involving 12 participants who are students from the teacher education program. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal three main themes identified by the students as positive aspects of learning in the Kampus Merdeka program. First, the flexibility of the curriculum, which allows students to select courses based on their interests and career needs. Second, the innovative quality of instruction, encompassing the use of creative teaching methods and advanced educational technology. Third, the availability of career guidance, which assists students in preparing for their future careers. These findings indicate that the implementation of Kampus Merdeka has a significantly positive impact on the learning experiences of education students.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and optimize the implementation of library services at SMP Al-Imam Islamic School Balikpapan to enhance student literacy. Currently, the library services play a crucial role in supporting literacy activities, but there is still potential for further development. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the library services have shown positive developments, particularly in increasing student participation in literacy programs. The continuously updated book collection and the relevance of literacy programs tailored to students' needs are key factors supporting literacy improvement. Based on these findings, it is recommended to continue innovating library services, such as expanding access to digital resources and developing more interactive and engaging literacy programs. This optimization is expected to further strengthen the role of the library as a literacy center that significantly contributes to improving the quality of education at SMP Al-Imam Islamic School Balikpapan.
