Sari, Y. P., Wedari, L. S., Sawestri, S., & Rais, A. H. (2024). Fishing activities in The Kampar River, Buluh Cina Village, Riau. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembang 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 523-532). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The Kampar River is one of the important rivers in Riau, where it is the main contributor to the District's Gross Regional Domestic Income (GRDP) Kampar. The status of fish resource utilization in the Kampar River is a major concern. The aimed of this research was to obtain data on capture fisheries activities which include fishing gear type, production and fishing gear rate, also fish catch composition in the waters of the Kampar River, Buluh Cina Village, Riau. The research was conducted from March to October 2022. Fish sampling involved 10 fishers who recorded their catches (enumerators). The total catch value was calculated form the total catch of enumerator fishers in one month. Furthermore, the calculation of capture rate value for each month was obtained from the relationship between fishing effort compared to catch. Catch data was obtained from 11 types of fishing gear. There were three groups of fishing gear, namely the hook and line group (pancing, rawai, dan tajur), the trap/pot trap group (bubu, lukah, pengilar, sempirai, and toban), and the nets/gill nets group (gill nets, trawls, and cast nets). The research results showed that gill nets and sempirai fishing gear can be used throughout the year and have the highest production results. Cast nets type fishing gear has the highest catch rate. A total of 26 species including fish and shrimp were recorded during the research. The catch was dominated by motan fish (Tynnichys polylepis) 27.02%, pawe (Osteochilus kapperil) 22.30%, and snakehead (Channa striata) 11.05%.

Abstract

Kelbo, R., Timisela, N. R., & Kembauw, E. (2024). Utilization of People's Business Credit (KUR) to increase the income of rice farmers. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembangg 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 854–864). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The purpose of this study was to analyze the utilization of KUR to increase the income of rice farmers. The research was conducted in Waimital Village, West Seram Regency. The research sample consisted of 51 KUR farmer respondents who were taken through a census. The results of a simple regression analysis of the effect of KUR utilization on income show that KUR utilization has a positive effect on income. The regression coefficient value of 0.754 means that income increases by one percent, then KUR utilization will increase by 0.754 percent. Farmers utilize KUR well, so income increases which has an impact on the KUR installment process. The results of multiple regression analysis show that the Adjusted R Square value of 0.992 means that production (X1), seed costs (X2) and labor wages (X3) can explain the income of rice farmers (Y) by 99.2%, while the remaining 0.8% is explained by other factors outside the model. The F-count value of 1975.498> F-table 2.802 means that X1, X2 and X3 simultaneously affect Y. The results of the partial test show that X1 is positive, meaning that if production increases by 1 percent, income will increase by 1.024 percent. The t-count value of 51.817> t-table 2.012 means that the production variable has a significant effect on the income of rice farmers. The seed cost is negative, meaning that if seed costs increase by 1 percent, income will decrease by 0.040 percent. The t-count value of -2.402> t-table of 2.012 means that the seed cost variable has a significant effect on the income of rice farmers. Labor wages are positive, meaning that if labor wages increase by 1 percent, income will increase by 0.027 percent. The t-count value of 2.603> t-table of 2.012 means that the labor wage variable has a significant effect on the income of rice farmers.

Abstract

Destri, E., Rejo, A., Hanum, L. (2024). Determination of tempeh wastewater management model in plaju ulu with interpretive structural modeling method. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembangg 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 409–425). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The development of the household-scale tempeh industry in Plaju Ulu, Palembang, produces wastewater that has the potential to disrupt environmental balance if not managed properly. This research aimed to establish appropriate recommendations for a model of wastewater management for tempeh to minimize the impacts caused by waste disposal. This study uses the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) approach to determine the relationships between elements in formulating the model recommendations. The framework variables for this research include three main elements: the background conditions of education, economy, and socio-cultural aspects of tempeh producers. The research findings indicate that the implementation of wastewater management for tempeh in Plaju Ulu needs to be supported by strengthening formal education through workshops or seminars for tempeh producers on effective waste management techniques, or by collaborating with academics to develop innovative waste processing technologies. The success of waste management also relies on the welfare of tempeh producers, necessitating efforts such as product diversification from wastewater raw materials and providing access to product certification to enhance competitiveness and sales. Additionally, the management of tempeh liquid waste requires the development of local regulations governing the disposal and management of wastewater, involving tempeh associations in discussions to ensure that the management stages are accepted and implemented effectively. A model for managing tempeh wastewater that focuses on education, economy, and socio-cultural aspects is expected to create a sustainable environmental system through good collaboration among all partiesn.

(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembang 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 762–767).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Flies are insects that can recognize colors due to their phototropic nature, making them sensitive to specific wavelengths of light. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of various shades of purple on fly attraction. This research employed a quantitative experimental design with a post-test-only control group approach. The results indicated findings revealed a statistically significant difference between the light magenta and dark purple fly grill variations (p-value = 0.018; MD = 12.27500). The highest average fly density was found on the light magenta fly grill with 30.75 flies/block, followed by the light purple with 25 flies/block, and the lowest on the dark purple with 18.1 flies/block; meanwhile, the unpainted (wood) fly grill showed a density of 23 flies/block. The Specifically, light magenta purple attracted the highest number of flies, indicating its effectiveness as a trap color. Based on the research results, utilizing light magenta purple fly grills could enhance fly trapping efficiency. It is recommended that the use of light magenta fly grills be prioritized in fly control strategies in areas prone to infestation, such as landfills.

Sunarsih, E., Purba, I. G., Trisnaini, I., Minarti, M., & Armawan, V. A. A. (2024). Model of lung function disorders in officers street sweeper in Palembang City. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembangg 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 906–917).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Air is a mixture of various gases whose ratios vary depending on temperature and air pressure. Exposure to dust in the work environment can lead to different types of lung diseases, resulting in impaired lung function and disability. This study aimed to analyze lung function disorders among highway sweepers in Palembang City. It is a quantitative analytical study using a cross-sectional design. The population for this study includes all highway sweepers, with a sample of 91 out of a total of 95 individuals. The results indicate a relationship between smoking habits, years of work, length of exposure, and disease history with lung function impairment. Among these, length of exposure is the most dominant factor affecting lung function impairment. Age, gender, PM10 levels, TSP levels, nutritional status, and PPE use were not significantly related to lung function disorders. Recommendations include providing appropriate PPE to street sweepers and offering nutritious food to address potential nutritional deficiencies among this group.
