Abstract

To date, the Coronavirus disease-19 (Covid-19) pandemic still occurs and there has not been found a satisfactory specific treatment to treat Covid-19. Some medicinal plants are known to increase body endurance and are useful for maintaining health during a pandemic. This community service activity aims to provide education in an effort to increase public knowledge about the use of herbal medicines for the prevention and treatment of Covid-19. The method used is a webinar with three presentation materials that are myths and facts about the use of herbal medicines for Covid-19, is it safe to consume herbal medicines and the classification of herbal medicines based on scientific evidence. In this activity, participants were also given a questionnaire to determine the knowledge of the webinar participants about herbal medicine. The results of the questionnaire showed that most of the webinar participants consumed herbal medicines (84%) with the aim of maintaining health. Meanwhile, the most widely consumed type of herbal medicine was jamu (42.8%) and the most widely used medicinal plant was ginger (50.36%). Most of the participants in the webinar (60%) believe in the safety of herbal medicines. In conclusion, public knowledge about the use of herbal medicines and their safety needs to be improved.

Abstract

The world of education certainly cannot be separated from teaching and learning activities. Educators are required to be able to make the learning atmosphere feel fun and exciting. Educators are required to be able to take advantage of existing learning media, whether it's modules, worksheets, or electronic books to be optimized as learning support tools both in the inside and outside the classroom. Effective, conducive, and creative learning in this modern era has changed the style and process of learning. Outbreak of the covid-19 requires teaching and learning activities to be carried out remotely relying on internet technology. Kahoot is a web-based learning media which in its operation involves educators and students to interact and conduct interactive learning in the form of games, quizzes, surveys, and polls. The use of Kahoot as a learning media is considered appropriate because both students and educators have been confirmed as active internet users. The use of the internet for learning can also brighten the view that the digital world is increasingly sophisticated, educate students to surf the internet wisely, and learning activities teaching is not always monotonous and boring.

Abstract

The complications of diabetes mellitus (DM) is diabetic ulcers. The principles of Preparation of the wound (3 M principles) are cleansing, removing necrotic tissue in the wound, choosing the right topical therapy. The aim of this community service to implementation research result about effectiveness of boiling guava leaves as wound washing for diabetic clients. The community service method was wound care diabetic training through guava leaves boil. The program have done as long as a week which the participant were diabetic client in Sidangkal public health center. Before doing community service, the client experienced on caring wound diabetic was used Na-CL, closed wound with cotton, washed every day, and used insulin as preventive diabetic complication. The result of training, the participant said the information about guava leaves boil was new information for them. And all participant also given positive response for this training. And the lead of public health center also said this program improve the knowledge of clients about caring wound diabetic foot.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition that causes abnormalities in blood pressure that can interfere with other organ systems and can cause other diseases such as coronary heart disease and stroke. Hypertension is caused by a disturbance in the blood vessels which results in the supply of oxygen and nutrients carried by the blood being blocked to the body's tissues that need it. Hypertension has become a major problem in public health in Indonesia and in several countries in the world. One of the efforts to improve public health is through the application of a healthy lifestyle. This will be achieved if people get correct information about health either through electronic media or through counseling methods. The purpose of this community service activity is to determine the effect of health education on the level of pre-elderly knowledge about hypertension. The design method in this activity is Pre experimental design and the design is in the form of. One group pre-test-post-test. The population in this activity is 70 families, the sample size uses a minimum sample size of 30 families as the sample with the target of this activity being pre-elderly people aged 45-59 years. In measuring the level of knowledge, pretest and posttest questions were filled in with 15 questions each. The test group was given health education through lectures using leaflets with the door to door technique (from house to house). Results: Based on the statistical test using the Wilcoxon test, it is known that the Asymp value. Sig (2-tailed) is 0.000, because 0.000 <0.05, then according to the established hypothesis, it means that the health education method given regarding hypertension in the pre-elderly has been proven to increase pre-elderly knowledge compared to before health education was conducted. Conclusion: Health education has an effect on the level of knowledge of pre-elderly.

Abstract

Since Covid 19 burst into Indonesia, most of the Nasyiah members and their husbands have not been longer working due to termination of employment (PHK). Passing through discussions with the general chairman of PDNA Sidoarjo and the head of the socio-economic section of PDNA Sidoarjo, our community service team from the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo has carried out several program activities, namely: through the Nasyiah business group, we increase the productivity of the economic activities of Nasyiah members who are not productive (unemployed) through various empowerments, namely product branding innovation, and digital marketing training. This public servant aims to increase the productivity of economic activities for unproductive (unemployed) Nasyiah members passing through various empowerments. These were launched into a situation analysis to formulate the right solution in overcoming the problems faced by partners. The empowerment was carried out through product branding training and digital marketing training. This community service program is able to improve community governance, human resources, and resource management. Partners already have product branding which are able to implement digital marketing strategies and are able to record business finances through the SME Accounting application created by the UMSIDA community service team

Abstract

Emergency events certainly cannot be predicted, whenever and wherever someone can experience it, the event requires immediate help. Delays in handling can result in physical disability or even death. This condition requires proper and immediate emergency treatment, so that first aid in victims / patients can be done optimally. The role of the community in first aid to health problems has been widely felt and in general who find the first time emergency patients at the scene is a community known as "lay people", so they are the ones who often provide first aid to patients before by competent health workers. This condition becomes a shared responsibility, especially Muhammadiyah Regional Leader (PDM) and Colleges as organization that pay attention to health services and to the community. The solution offered is the implementation of basic life support training. The activity was held on November 24, 2021 with the target of Muhammadiyah Autonomous Organization (ortom) in Tasikmalaya City. The implementation of activities carried out by lecturers and students is assisted by PDM Tasikmalaya City.

Abstract

Batik has become a cultural heritage that has been recognized internationally by UNESCO. Indonesian batik has been known worldwide, even the president of the Republic of Indonesia has set October 2 as the national batik day. This should be a matter of pride for the people of Indonesia, especially Yogyakarta, which has a batik culture. The pride of the batik culture that has been recognized by the world must be owned by the Indonesian people as a whole. Not only to adults but also to children. Unfortunately, in this globalization and modern era, children, especially in the Semaki and Kotagede sub-districts, are more interested in modern culture than batik. The development of technology has given a considerable influence on children in the current era of globalization. Children are more interested in playing gadgets than making batik. The complicated process of making batik becomes less attractive to the younger generation. This community service program is carried out in the form of collaborative learning with the theme Project based learning in fostering a love of batik from an early age through written batik training with natural dyes for children. The purpose of this PPM is to provide knowledge and understanding to students and children about how to make batik with natural dyes. By knowing and understanding how to make batik, it is hoped that children in the Semaki and Purbayan sub-districts will be interested in batik culture and will develop a sense of love and pride in the batik culture that has become a legacy of their ancestors. The method of this service activity consists of socialization, debriefing, natural dye testing, written batik training, natural dye training, evaluation, and reporting. This activity will be held from 21 to 26 December 2021 in Semaki and Purbayan villages. This activity has succeeded in increasing the knowledge and understanding of participants, both students and children. Students' understanding of batik skills increased from 27% to 100% while students' natural coloring skills increased from 12% to 100%. The understanding of the children also experienced a significant increase. The children's batik skills increased from 25% and 7.5% to 100% being able to make batik. While natural coloring skills increased from 4% and 0% to 100%.

Abstract

Farming is a job that is mostly done by people in Boyolali. Low back pain in farmers often occurs because of the working position carried out by farmers, namely bending over. The use of a lumbar corset can reduce low back pain in farmers. The purpose of community service at the Rukun Sentosa Ngesrep 1 Ngemplak Boyolali Farmer Group is to empower farmers to know about early detection, prevention and treatment of low back pain that is often experienced by farmers. The activity is carried out in three months starting from May 31, 2021 to August 10, 2021. The stages of activity are preparation, implementation and evaluation. Preparation is carried out by conducting a preliminary survey to see conditions in the field and obtaining permits for activities in farmer groups. The implementation is carried out by empowerment in the form of counseling in the form of discussions with farmer groups, detection of farmers who experience pain, and giving a Lumbar Corset. Evaluation of activities is carried out for each stage by collecting and concluding data from each stage of activity. The result of the activity is the implementation of counseling and early detection of low back pain to farmers and providing a lumbar corset to be used by farmers to reduce back pain when farming. Implementing the activities of lecturers and students and assisted by the management and members of the Rukun Sentosa Ngesrep 1 Ngemplak Boyolali farmer group.

Abstract

Humans are social creatures who cannot live individually, but humans need the help of others. In interacting, both with themselves and with other people, personally and in groups, humans need to communicate. Everyone can communicate both verbally and non-verbally, but not everyone is able to communicate in public. Public speaking skills are important for everyone from any background to learn. The development of youth soft skills in organizing through basic public speaking training is one way to improve speaking skills in organizations and train youth to be confident. The method used in this research is observation and interviews. This activity can develop and improve youth skills in public speaking so that teenagers can be more confident. After this training, Karang Taruna (Youth Organization) of Putat 1 Village members can be more active and participate in discussions. Teenagers become more confident in expressing their opinions and are able to make the organization better.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide assistance to teachers, parents and students regarding hybrid learning. The use of applications to support learning activities while online by using Google class rooms and dojo classes. The method used in this community service activity provides training/workshops and assistance to teachers, parents and students regarding the use of the Google Class Room and Class Dojo applications. The activity stages are divided into four activity stages, namely (1) survey and problem analysis, (2) offered solutions, (3) workshop and mentoring activities, (4) and evaluation. The result of this community service activity is the competence of teachers in using online learning applications such as google class room and closs dojo as media to support hybrid learning. Parents and students can better utilize information and communication technology to carry out remote learning supervision activities.
