Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of REACT Strategies (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transfering) to the learning outcomes of students on Acid and Base material. This research was conducted in January-February 2019 at SMA Negeri 39 Jakarta using the Quasy Experimental design, Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The experimental and control groups were each given an initial ability test before learning and post-test after the learning process ended. The experimental group was given a REACT learning strategy while the control group formed a 5M learning strategy. REACT Learning Strategy consists of 5 stages, namely relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, and transferring. The results showed the average post-test in the experimental group was better than the control group of 77.42 and 66.95. Then the statistical test results obtained tcount> ttable is tcount of 3.64 while ttable with a 5% significance level of 1.67. Related to the application of the REACT learning strategy (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transfering) has a positive influence on the learning outcomes of chemistry in Acid and Base materials. Abstract

This research is aiming to discover effect of the application of Team Assisted Individualization type of cooperative learning model towards learning outcomes students of class X MIA in the subject of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The design research used in this research is posttest-only nonequivalent control group. This research is performed in Class X MIA, 27 Senior High School Jakarta in academic year of 2018/2019. Sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling, thus Class X MIA 1 defined as experiment class and Class X MIA 2 defined as control class. The learning model used in experiment class is Team Assisted Individualization learning model, while in the control class is using Active Learning. The results show that there’s a difference in student learning outcomes in experimental class and control class (tcount = 1,995; ttable = 1,668, tcount > ttable). It can be concluded that learning activities using Team Assisted Individualization learning models have a positive influence on student learning outcomes on the subject of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. Abstract

The purpose of this reseacrh is to develop electronic module based on Learning Cycle 5E model on acid-base materials in chemistry learning. This research process used the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation) research and development method. This research was conducted from December 2018 until June 2019. The research instrument that used ini this study are preliminary and needs questionnaire of students and teachers, media, material and language experts validation questionnaire, and trial test questionnaire on students and teachers. The expert validation of the electronic module was carried out by three material and language experts and media experts. The results of the material and language experts on the overall indicator obtained as good to excellent categories. The results of the media experts on the overall indicator obtained as good to excellent categories. Result of the product trial test to students and teachers on the overall indicator obtained with good to excellent categories. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the devlopment of electronic module based on Learning Cycle 5E on acid-base materials is in accordance with students and teachers needs and has been eligible to be used in the learning process as a source of students learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop students' analytical thinking skills through the Prepare, Do, Review learning model on acid and base indicator topics. The study was conducted at SMAN 36 Jakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year with the subjects 33 students of class XI MIPA 4. The study employed qualitative methods by collecting data through tests, observation, and reflective journals. The Prepare, Do, Review model implemented through three stages of learning, namely preparation, conducting activities, and review. Analytical thinking ability include of three indicators, namely diffrerentiating, connecting, and organizing. Indicators of analytical thinking ability to be achieved are adjusted to the indicators of achievement of existing competencies. The overall results of the study showed 84,85% of students reached very good levels, 15,15% reached good levels, and there were no more students who were at a fair level, poor level and not very poor level. In each indicator of analytical thinking ability on acid and base indicator topics, there are no students at poor level and very poor level which suggests that learners’ analytical thinking skills develop. Prepare, Do, Review creates a meaningful learning process because learners have experience in learning process, so this model can develop the ability of learners’ analytical thinking. Abstract

This study aims to produce electrochemical learning e-module as environmentally integrated contextual teaching materials for students of Vocational Automotive Engineering Competency. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 26 Jakarta during the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year. The method used is the Research and Development method. Respondents in this study were vocational students, lecturers, and teachers. The results of the interpretation of the material and linguistic feasibility test of 74% - 87% with a value of r = 0,93 indicate that the e-module is very good in terms of the feasibility of the content and the feasibility of the presentation. While the results of the interpretation of the media feasibility test 76% - 89% with a value of r = 0,94 shows that the e-module is very good in terms of e-module size, e-module skin design, and e-module content design. Based on the assessment of students in small group trials, e-modules were corrected and re-tested in large groups and an interpretation of 72% - 90% showed that the e-modules were very good in terms of material feasibility and feasibility of presentation. Based on the evaluation of teacher trials obtained an interpretation of 84% - 100% with a value of r = 0,81 which shows the e-module is very good. The results of the excellent interpretation show that the electrochemical e-module for the Vocational High School of Automotive Engineering Skills is appropriate to be used as teaching material.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the chemistry learning outcomes in redox between students who have the cognitive style of the Field Dependent and Field Independent on the Contextual Teaching and Learning model. This research was performes in X MIA class, SMA 36 Jakarta. The research method used is quantitative with comparative techniques. Sampling in this study used a purposive sampling technique. Learning used in two classes is the Contextual Teaching and Learning model. The instruments used are in the form of Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT) and posttest. The data obtained are then analyzed using the t-test. The average learning outcomes obtained by students with the Field Independent cognitive style were 80.77 and in students with the Field Dependent cognitive style was 54.58. The results showed differences in student learning outcomes between students with Independent Field cognitive style and students with Field Dependent cognitive style (tcount = 10.62; ttable = 1.68, tcount> ttable). So that it can be concluded that the cognitive style can have a positive effect on student learning outcomes at redox with the Contextual Teaching and Learning model. Abstract

acids and bases topics. Quasy experiment was chosen as research method with posttest only group design. The research population was students of XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 in SMA Negeri 26 Jakarta. The sample was established using the purposive sampling technique by choosing two classes as experiment class and control class. The experiment class was taught by using the Blended-Problem Based Learning model, while the control class was taught by using Blended-Explicit Instruction. The data were collected by using critical thinking skill questions. The data analysis technique used independent sample t test. The result showed that the experiment class’s mean was 68,306, while the control class was 58,611. The hypothesis was obtained by value of tcalculate (3,454) > ttable (1,667) with significant level is 0,05. So, it can be concluded that there was positive effect of Blended-Problem Based Learning model on students’ critical thinking skill in acids and bases topics. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of chemistry learning using module media in terms of student achievement and student responses to the use of modules. This type of research is a descriptive quantitative method. Data collection techniques in the form of test results, observation, interviews, and the results of student questionnaire responses. The research subjects were students of class X Building, totaling 24 students. The results showed that learning chemistry using media modules followed the steps in the form of preparation of study material, practice exercises and evaluation of learning achievement. The use of modules in chemistry learning increases student learning achievement from 48.38 to 78,18. Students also gave a positive response to the use of modules in learning, namely 90% in the feasible category. Another thing that was observed was the implementation of learning supported by internal factors in the form of teacher and student readiness, the mastery of the study material, learning motivation, and the appropriateness of the task with the study material. Abstract

This research is motivated by students' chemical mastery in learning is still low, especially for abstract concept/theory material. This can be seen from students being less active and lacking memory in following the learning process. In addition, schools only rely on textbooks that make students less interested in learning and there is no student workbook to support students' understanding. This research aimed at knowing the appropriateness of the instructional media design in the form of Probing-Prompting based student workbook on Periodic System of the Elements lesson. It was administered at State Islamic Senior High School 1 Pekanbaru. It was R&D (Research and Development) with 4-D model, and it was limited to 3 models—define, design, and development. The subjects of this research were the experts of material, the experts of media, and the experts of language, Chemistry subject teachers, 10 students at the tenth grade of MIA 1. The object was Probing-Prompting based student workbook on Periodic System of the Elements lesson. The research findings showed that Probing-Prompting based student workbook was appropriate to be used and it was based on the results of validity and practicality levels. The percentage of validity level obtained was 85.78% (very valid) and the practicality level was 85.33% (very practical). Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was for knowing whether there was a difference and an effect of Probing Prompting Learning model toward student critical thinking ability. It was a quasi-experimental research, using experimental and control groups that would determine the difference of two variables. There were two sample classes—the tenth-grade students of MIA 4 (experiment) that were 28 students taught by using Probing Prompting Learning model and 28 students of MIA 5 (control) taught by using conventional learning. Collecting the data was done by using written posttest, and the obtained data were analyzed by using Independent sample t-test and Simple linear regression test. Based on the result of processing the final data, it was obtained the score of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 that was lower than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It could be concluded that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It meant that there was a difference between Probing Prompting Learning model and conventional learning toward student critical thinking ability. The equation of the regression was Y=56.658+0.351 X. It could be known that the score of the significance (sig.) 0.001 was lower than the probability 0.05 (0.001<0.05), so it could be concluded that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It meant that there was an effect of Probing Prompting Learning model toward student critical thinking ability at the tenth grade of Senior High School of Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru.
