Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of virtual laboratory on student laboratory skills on acid-base titration in SMAN 26 Jakarta. The subject of this study was XI IPA 1 as control group and XI IPA 3 as experiment group and was conducted on February through March 2019. The method that used in this research is quasi experiment with posttest only control group design. The sample was chosen by purposive sampling technique. The experiment group uses virtual laboratory in practical activities, while the control group uses assistance in practical activities. The result showed that the average score of the posttest in experiment group was 80.77 while the control group is 67.04. Meanwhile, the result of t-test shows that tobtined was 6,625 > ttable was 1,67. It means there is a difference on student’s laboratory skills between the experiment group and control group. Therefore, it can be conclude that the virtual laboratory in practical activities has a positive effect on student’s laboratory skills on acid base titration. Abstract

The interest of students in learning chemistry is one of the factors that increases the learning process that can be improved through Learning Cycle 5e learning and the use of mystery topics in learning. Therefore the purpose of this study is to analyze the interest of chemistry learning students through the application of Learning Cycle 5E using mystery stories to acid-base learning. This study was conducted at SMAN 61 Jakarta in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year with the research subjects consisting of 32 people of class XI MIPA 3. The study was conducted using qualitative analysis methods by collecting data through observation, reflective journals, student interviews and interest questionnaire. Learning Cycle 5E learning consists of 5 stages, namely engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration and evaluation. Mystery Scenario used in the elaboration stage to expand students' understanding and make students interested in learning. The results of the analysis show situational interest, pleasure for the study of chemistry and self-efficacy in chemistry in chemistry formed during learning. Aspects of belief about chemistry and self-concept in chemistry appear only in a few students. The most dominant Learning Cycle 5E stage that raises student interest is Elaboration Keywords Interest in learning chemistry, Learning Cycle 5E, Mystery scenario, acid base

Abstract

This study aims to develop a feasible chemistry learning media in the form of learning modules based on environmental problems with a problem-based learning approach on th solubility and the solubility product. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). There are 4 stages carried out in this study, which are preliminary analysis, product planning and development, product validation by experts, and product trials on students and teachers. Learning modules are prepared by applying the problem-based learning approach. The presentation of problems and learning activities are systematically designed with an attractive appearance to increase students' interest in the learning process. The results of the module validation assessment from chemistry experts, linguists experts and media experts respectively showed very good results with the percentage, respectively 93.98%, 86.03% and 88.39%. The results of the module feasibility assessment trials by students get a very good interpretation with a percentage of 78.89% and the results of the module feasibility assessment trials by teacher also get a very good interpretation with a percentage of 96.83%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the chemistry learning module based on environmental problems with the problem-based learning approach on the solubility and the solubility product that has been developed is feasible and is suitable for use in the chemistry learning process in school. Abstract

The existence of the curriculum not only emphasizes the importance of attention to education, but also our efforts to explore and interpret the vital role of curriculum that will bring Indonesian education to international level. Especially in chemistry learning, prioritizing the structure and implementation of the right curriculum is an essential part of introducing and reviving the role of meaningful chemical learning. This study aims to investigate the metacognitive aspects of students in reviewing the implementation of senior high school in Yogyakarta. This research is a quantitative-qualitative descriptive study with 3 project based learning. The research was conducted from August to December 2018. The research instruments used were interview sheets, test questions according to metacognitive level indicators, questionnaires in the form of Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI), presentation-discussion assessment sheets, and reflection sheets. Data collection techniques include descriptive analysis of the results of metacognitive level tests, MAI questionnaire analysis using Rasch Model, analysis of interviews, observation, and reflection descriptively. The results show that students were good at analyzing curriculum structure and studying the implementation of high school and vocational chemistry curriculums in Yogyakarta with the acquisition of an average score of 82.65 for curriculum comprehension, component surgery and high school chemistry content in the curriculum having an average score of 89.57. Regarding the final value of the group project, the average value of the ability and analysis aspects in the chemistry teachers interview is 87.11; the average value for presentation design is 91.51; and the average value of presentation and discussion skills is 83.14. In the metacognitive test, 87.5% and 97.14% of students were completed and supported by Cronbach's Alpha Value of 0.94 for the results of the MAI questionnaire analysis using the Rasch Model. The five metacognitive levels have been achieved well. Keywords Project based Learning, Metacognitive Skills, Curriculum Implementation, Chemistry at Senior High School
