Abstract

: The homogeneity of mass products often results in anonymity and detachment from the objects that surround our lives, resulting in an ever-increasing demand for products with diverse tastes, preferences, and personalities. This study aims to identify the impact of customization strategies on customers in terms of self- expression, personal identity, and satisfaction. Conducted within the framework of mass customization theory, this study employs qualitative analysis by applying phenomenological research methods, thereby enabling us to explore customer views and gather invaluable insights. Research findings reveal that customers value a structured, sequential approach to customization, where clarity of the process increases their engagement and satisfaction. In addition, the decision-making process serves as a symbol of individuality. Elements such as the ability to personalize products, a wide range of design options, and the inclusion of aesthetic appeal not only increase customer satisfaction but also emphasize the important role aesthetics plays in customization. The conclusions in this study recognize customization as a powerful tool for facilitating individual relationships and self-expression in the realm of mass commodities. Furthermore, this study adds to knowledge in the field of product development and marketing, with an emphasis on the importance of product customization for them. Abstract

The population of Indonesia in 2022 will reach 27,536 million people, of which 17.5 millionpeople are people with disabilities. In this context, disability refers to physical or mental limitations limiting a person's social interaction. The primary function of a wheelchair brake is to control the speedand movement of the wheelchair and its equipment. However, the manual wheelchair braking systemis still not ef ective enough to overcome steep roads. Accessibility for people with disabilities is greatlyinfluenced by environmental and structural factors, especially in areas where the streets are long or steep. To increase accessibility for people who use manual wheelchairs and have physical limitations, particular research was carried out. The method used in this research uses a design thinking frameworkthat begins with a data collection process through interviews, observations, documents, and validationusing triangulation of data sources to conclude, then carrying out the design process using experimental methods and validating wheelchair users with disabilities. This research aims to address the mobilitychallenges of people with physical disabilities who use manual wheelchairs in areas with steeptopography. The result of this research is that an innovative concept of using brake accessories onmanual wheelchairs has been developed. Keywords : disability, wheelchair, accessibility, physical limitations

Abstract

For a variety of indoor activities, humans require artificial lighting, particularly for the activities that need for a task lighting which have focused lighting. Initially, the majority of task lighting design in massive shape and made from manufacturing materials such as metal and frosted glass, which were effective as light reflectors by directing light towards a specific spot in the area that needed to be illuminated. The task lighting cap design has evolved during its development to emphasize the aesthetic qualities of craftsmanship, both in terms of a shape that is no longer massive and using of natural materials that are simpler to procure and manufacture. This frequently results in a change from task lighting to general lighting. In order to restores the right function of task lighting, this experiment was done and the result is products of task lighting with craft aesthetic value that can also be manufactured into effective light reflectors. Bamboo and shells were chosen as the materials that could most closely approximate the quality of metal and frosted glass as light reflectors capable of concentrating lighting at one point in the area in accordance with their function as task lighting through the use of experimental methods from a variety of craft materials that were still possible to form lamp cap. Although bamboo and shell materials, which are made of natural materials, these still have a weak point in lux if compared to manufactured materials cause they have a small amount of absorption, but this can be fixed by changing the lumens of light source.

Abstract

The coastal areas of Makassar City face challenges such as population growth, environmental abrasion, land use conflicts, slums and the emergence of settlements on the water that impact the livelihoods of fishermen and marine resources. This phenomenon emphasizes the need for architectural design that focuses on the order of fishermen's settlements. The research location of the fishermen village arrangement design on Barrang Lompo Island, Sangkarrang Islands District, Makassar City RW004 is mostly inhabited by Jolloro fishermen, an area of 4.14 Ha with a population of 213 people / 216 family heads. The diversity of the island's potential is the basis for considering the need for a structuring concept with a typical fishermen's thematic village theme to maintain the uniqueness and sustainability of Barrang Lompo Island. The results of the concept design of the area arrangement consist of 3 main functions, namely residential, independent economic center, and tourism. In the concept of site arrangement, there are residences, green open spaces, fields, ARSINUM, RESERVOIR, UMKM corner, fishing and tourism docks, and interaction spaces. By applying the Modular Behavior concept, it is expected to provide ease of development and modification in the future, energy efficiency, and the use of environmentally friendly materials. This concept can be a reference for the concept of revitalization of the fishing village area in the case study of RW004 Barrang Lompo Island, Makassar City and can be applied to coastal areas and small islands in Indonesia with different conditions. Keywords : abrasion, area planning, barrang lompo island, modular concept, sustainability

Abstract

Changes in the physical order of an urban area are thought to occur due to economic development, changes in social aspects related to community behavior according to needs and lifestyles, and the carrying capacity of the environmental aspects where it is located. In reality, the development of urban areas runs spontaneously and so quickly, thus providing physical-spatial problems that can be encountered in everyday life. This research aims to identify the aspects that influence the occurrence of this phenomenon in the case study of the Cihapit Residential Neighborhood in Cibeunying area, Bandung City. The research was conducted through analyzing changes in physical-spatial elements that affect changes in the pattern, type and system of a case study area using the main approach of the study of Transformation and Permanence of Kostov's five Urban Form elements (Edge, Street, Subdivision, Buildings & Open space) in a qualitative diachronic manner based on the time context when the neighborhood was founded (1920s), its development period(1990s) and the present (2020s). The results of this study found things that were lost, survived and changed in the Pattern-Type-System relationship of the Urban Form element, and the disharmony of the physical spatial order of the multi-aspect Economic, Social and Environmental relationships. In addition, the permeability that occurs in the environment of the study object is suspected to be the main cause of Transformation and Function Change which results in changes in the scope of commercial services andphysical-spatial order problems in the Cihapit Settlement Environment in Bandung City.
