Abstract

At SMP Negeri 2 Palembang, the persistent underachievement of students, as indicated by their summative assessments, remains a critical challenge. This issue is not solely attributed to pedagogical strategies but is compounded by classroom dynamics, material misalignment, and ineffective teaching methodologies. In response, the Station Rotation model was introduced to enhance student engagement by rotating them through diverse learning stations, including independent, collaborative, and technology-driven activities. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Station Rotation model in improving academic performance. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a True Experimental Design (Posttest-Only Control Design), the research involved 30 students in both the experimental and control groups. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation. Results demonstrated a significant improvement in student learning outcomes following the intervention. Prior to the intervention, 63.33% of students were in the medium-performance category, with 20% in the high-performance category. Post-intervention, the medium-performance group increased to 73.33%, while the high-performance group grew to 3.33%. A Paired Samples T-Test yielded a statistically significant result (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000), validating the model’s impact. The experimental group’s average test score improved to 83.50, compared to 64.17 in the control group. Additionally, N-Gain analysis supported these findings, revealing a 63.97% improvement in the experimental group (moderate category), compared to a 21.14% increase in the control group (low category). These results underscore the efficacy of the Station Rotation model in enhancing student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Of the 225 million Muslim population in Indonesia, about 54% are categorised as not knowing the Qur'an, so about 46% know the letters and can recite the Qur'an. This study aims to analyse the use of the Tartilqu method on the ability to read the Qur'an of children of TPA Rabbani Palembang. The sample used in the study was TPA Rabbani students with a total of 20 students selected from a population of 20 students. The research data were collected by observation, oral tests and documentation. The collected data were then analysed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the use of the Tartilqu method on the ability to read the Qur'an of the students. Based on the results of the analysis output of IBM SPSS version 30, that (Sig. 2 tailed) of 0.001 <0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that in the comparison of t count with t table, t count is greater in value than t table while the value (P-Value) is smaller than the value of 0.05 then there is a significant influence on the ability to read the Qur'an using the Tartilqu method.

Abstract

This study explores strategies to develop reading habits among students at SDN 8 Tanjung Lago Banyuasin and the challenges faced. Reading plays a vital role in intellectual and character development, yet students' reading habits remain low. Using a qualitative approach through observations, interviews, and documentation, the study finds that while literacy programs like daily reading sessions and classroom reading corners exist, they have not fully established a strong reading culture. Challenges include a lack of engaging books, tight academic schedules, minimal parental support, and the distraction of digital entertainment. To address this, schools enhance teachers' roles as literacy facilitators, engage parents in literacy programs, and integrate digital resources. Strategies such as book discussions, storytelling, and reward systems create a more engaging environment. Findings highlight the need for collaboration between schools, teachers, and parents to nurture lifelong reading habits, supporting students' academic success and personal growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum to shape students' religious character. Using a literature review method, this research identifies several key obstacles, including the flexibility of the Merdeka Curriculum, the influence of social environments, and students' limited understanding of religious teachings. These factors contribute to difficulties in fostering religious character effectively. The findings emphasize the need for comprehensive efforts to enhance the competence of PAI teachers through continuous professional development and curriculum adaptation. Additionally, strong collaboration between schools, families, and communities is essential to creating a supportive learning environment. By addressing these challenges, educators can better integrate religious values into the curriculum, ensuring that students develop a strong religious character while adapting to the evolving educational landscape. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on religious education in Indonesia and provides insights for policymakers and educators in improving PAI implementation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low student interest in learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MAN 2 Malang, due to monotonous teaching methods and the dominance of textual materials. In response to technological advancement and the Merdeka Curriculum, this study explores the use of audio-visual media as a transformative approach in Islamic education. The aim is to evaluate its effectiveness in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 2 SKI teachers and 30 twelfth-grade students. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model—reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing—supported by source triangulation. The findings indicate that audio-visual tools such as animated videos, digital slides, and interactive quizzes significantly improve student participation, motivation, and historical understanding through visual storytelling. This study offers a practical contribution by integrating technology into SKI learning, shifting it from passive to interactive. Despite positive outcomes, challenges such as infrastructure limitations, unequal digital access, and varying teacher digital literacy persist. The study suggests the need for structured training, equitable resource distribution, and curriculum alignment to ensure sustainable implementation. The novelty of this research lies in highlighting contextual application of media in faith-based education under the Merdeka Curriculum.
