Abstract

Arabic is the Qur'anic language used by all Muslims to worship. Arabic is superior to other languages not only because it is the language of the Qur'an but Arabic has characteristics that make it unique compared to other languages worldwide. One of its uniqueness is the number of synonyms owned by one vocabulary. These synonyms are also found in the Qur'an with various interpretations. Synonyms are not merely different vocabulary and the same meaning, but each vocabulary with the same meaning has a unique meaning not owned by other vocabularies. This study aims to analyze the differences in the use of a child's vocabulary based on the context of the story contained in Surah Ali Imran verses 40 and 47 relating to the story of Prophet Zakariā and Maryam. In this study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative methods and documentation techniques. The result of this research is that ghulām and walad have differences in four aspects: the origin of creation, the process of being born, the relationship with parents, and the wishes of parents.

Abstract

231,690,932 Muslims in Indonesia believe in protecting the Qur'an by memorizing or repeating it. However, they have difficulties because they are not tied to the institution of memorizing the Qur’an and need solutions to help memorize the Quran. This research aims to describe the development of the HIFDZ application as a peer teaching-based Al-Qur'an memorization platform. Research method The HIFDZ application uses the Waterfall method, which was first introduced by Winston Royce in 1970 and is often used for Software Engineering (SE) development, including (1) Analytic Needs, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Testing, (5) Maintenance. The Peer Teaching approach or peer tutoring is adequate regarding interest and achievement. The practicality of the HIFDZ application was tested on 3 Al-Qur'an memorizers, showing that HIFDZ can be used easily by Al-Qur'an memorizers. Interview results from the HIFDZ application trial with three practitioners who had memorized 30 chapters of the Qur’an showed that the application was excellent and suitable for memorizers of the Al-Qur'an. هناك 231,690,932 مسلمًا في إندونيسيا يؤمنون بحماية القرآن عن طريق حفظه أو ترديده. ومع ذلك، فإنهم يواجهون صعوبات لأنهم غير مرتبطين بمؤسسة تحفيظ القرآن، ويحتاجون إلى حل للمساعدة في حفظ القرآن. الهدف من هذا البحث هو وصف تطور تطبيق HIFDZ باعتباره تطبيقًا قائمًا على التدريس النظير. منصة تحفيظ القرآن الكريم. طريقة البحث يستخدم تطبيق HIFDZ طريقة الشلال التي قدمها وينستون رويس لأول مرة في عام 1970 وغالباً ما تستخدم لتطوير هندسة البرمجيات (SE)، بما في ذلك: (1) الاحتياجات التحليلية، (2) التصميم، (3) التطوير، (4) ) الاختبار، (5) الصيانة. يعتبر أسلوب تدريس الأقران أو تدريس الأقران فعالاً من حيث الاهتمام والإنجاز. تم اختبار التطبيق العملي لتطبيق HIFDZ على 3 من حفظة القرآن الكريم مما يدل على أنه يمكن لحافظي القرآن استخدام HIFDZ بسهولة. أظهرت نتائج المقابلة من تجربة تطبيق HIFDZ مع 3 ممارسين كانوا يحفظون 30 جزءًا من القرآن أن التطبيق كان جيدًا جدًا ومناسبًا للاستخدام من قبل حفظة القرآن.

Abstract

ChatGPT applications are increasingly popular for answering questions and providing information to users on various topics and languages, including text translation. In several previous studies, the use of the ChatGPT was deemed coherent, relatively accurate, informative, and systematic. This research aims to open new avenues for analyzing the quality of ChatGPT translation in Indonesian texts into Arabic, not only to pinpoint translation errors, but also to explore the positive aspects and capabilities of ChatGPT in translation. This study attempts to assemble a layered cascading translation analysis, progressing from individual words to phrases, then to simple sentences, and finally to longer sentences covering popular themes, such as education, health, economics, and tourism. Consequently, this research can serve as a consideration for translators collaborating with AI, aligning with the focus of Industry 5.0 era. This study employs qualitative and quantitative descriptive research models. The qualitative descriptive research model is obtained through textual analysis techniques that focus on translating various models and types of texts, and the quantitative data are provided by the questionnaire results from general readers for the readability of the translation result. The researchers found that the use of ChatGPT in Indonesian Arabic text translation has both drawbacks and advantages. The shortcomings of ChatGPT include difficulties in translating complex words with specific themes, such as education, tourism, and literature. When translating long sentences, it tends to be less appropriate in composition, and in the semantic field or meaning within specific contexts, it may lack precision. The selection of pronouns may not be suitable for the subject, and the use of complex idioms and the arrangement of words in idhafah and wasfi forms may be inaccurate. Evidence shows that ChatGPT's translation has a 66% readability percentage, indicating a relatively good outcome. Nevertheless, human translators can still contribute to translations by collaborating with the advancements of ChatGPT and utilizing their sensitivity to the context and external elements of the text. Further research and analysis, such as the development of a translation framework applicable to learning and translation practice or an analysis of Indonesian-Arabic translation within translation classes, could be implemented.

Abstract

The trend of naming brands in Indonesia is always changing from time to time. In the last decade, there has been a notable change from western language (English or Latin) to Arabic language such as Wardah, Safi, and Zoya. Not only national class brands, local shop names are also increasingly using Arabic. Nowadays, we often see Arabic products and shops in the market such as Al-Azhar, Yasmin, and El-Faza. This study aims to reveal the phenomenon and meanings behind the use of Arabic in naming local brands in Indonesia, especially in Tulungagung. The research is conducted using onomastic studies. Onomastics is one discipline of socio linguistics that studies the etymology, history, and use of names. Using qualitative descriptive method, this study analyzes the form, reference meaning, and function of the use of Arabic language in shop names in Tulungagung. The researcher uses observation, documentation, and interviews to collect the data. The results of this study reveal that the naming system for shops in Tulungagung is conducted using particular techniques like using single words in Arabic or combination of Arabic and English or Indonesian. Meanwhile the origin of the names could be traced to personal (self and family) names, geographic names, or Islamic terms. The purposes of Arabic naming consist of showing the identity of the owner, matching the type of products and service and the emergence of halal life style.  It is in line with the rise of Islamic spirit which is related with the role of Arabic as a symbol of cultural identity.

Abstract

The Department of Arabic Literature at Malang State University faces a problem of weak reading comprehension among students in the extensive reading course, with an average score of 77.18. This issue is attributed to the educational materials not being designed to meet the students' needs and the ineffective use of technology. This research aims to develop a blended learning model to improve students' reading comprehension, focusing on: (1) producing an Arabic language teaching model based on blended learning in the extensive reading course, (2) assessing the validity of the developed model, and (3) measuring the effectiveness of the model's application in improving academic achievement. The study used the development method by modifying the Borg and Gall model, and data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests, analyzed both qualitatively descriptively and statistically. The results showed: (1) the production of an Arabic language teaching program based on blended learning that includes an electronic learning management system and a discussion forum, (2) the developed model is valid for use according to experts' opinions, and (3) the developed model is effective in improving students' academic achievement based on a paired T-test with a probability value of 0.000 and a calculated T value of -23.869, indicating statistically significant differences in academic achievement after the model's application. This research presented an educational model for reading comprehension skills in the extensive reading course at the university level, with the integration of technology into the teaching process to meet the needs of students in learning the Arabic language, which opens up new information to develop their language skills. تواجه قسم الأدب العربي بجامعة مالانج الحكومية مشكلة في ضعف مهارة الفهم القرائي في مادة القراءة الموسعة، بمتوسط درجة 77.18. ويعود ذلك إلى عدم تطوير المواد التعليمية بما يلبي احتياجات الطلبة وعدم الاستفادة من التكنولوجيا بشكل فعال في عملية التعليم. يهدف هذا البحث إلى تطوير نموذج التعليم المدمج لتحسين الفهم القرائي للطلبة، ويركز على: (1) إنتاج نموذج تعليم اللغة العربية القائم على التعليم المدمج في مادة القراءة الموسعة، (2) قياس صلاحية النموذج المطور، و (3) قياس فعالية تطبيق النموذج المطور لتحسين التحصيل الدراسي. استخدم الباحث هذه الدراسة منهج التطوير بتعديل من نموذج بروج وغال، وتم جمع البيانات من خلال المقابلات والملاحظات والاستبانات والاختبارات، وتحليلها وصفياً كيفياً وإحصائياً. أظهرت النتائج: (1) إنتاج برنامج تعليم اللغة العربية القائم على التعليم المدمج يتضمن نظام إدارة التعلم الإلكتروني ومنتدى النقاش، (2) النموذج المطور صالح للاستخدام حسب آراء الخبراء، و (3) النموذج المطور فعال في تحسين التحصيل الدراسي للطلبة بناءً على اختبار T المزدوج بمعامل احتمالية 0.000 وT المحسوب -23.869 مما يدل على وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في التحصيل الدراسي بعد تطبيق النموذج. قدم هذا البحث نموذجا تعليميا لمهارة الفهم القرائي في مادة القراءة الموسعة في المستوى الجامعي، مع دمج التكنولوجيا في عملية التدريس لتلبية احتياجات الطلبة في تعليم اللغة العربية مما يفتح معلومات جديدة لتنمية مهاراتهم اللغوية.

Abstract

In this study, the researcher analyzed the curriculum for the Phonetics course in four Indonesian universities considering the book "Al-Idha'at" by Abdul Rahman Al-Fawzan. Specifically, the study focused on analyzing the course objectives, content, teaching, and learning strategies outlined in the curricula of these four universities. This research is a qualitative desk study with a descriptive-analytical comparative approach. The study found that theoretical or cognitive aspects dominate most teaching objectives for this course. The course content is predominantly theoretical, emphasizing theoretical knowledge over practical skills. Furthermore, most teaching strategies for the course heavily rely on lectures, discussions, questions and answers, and the distribution of assignments, with minimal emphasis on pronunciation exercises for Arabic sounds that are absent in Indonesian phonetics. To address these issues, the researcher suggests complementing the existing strategies in the curriculum with the teaching approach outlined by Abdul Rahman Al-Fawzan in his book "Al-Idha`at," which includes three vocal exercises. قام الباحث في هذه الدراسة بتحليل الخطة الدراسية لمادة علم الأصوات في أربع الجامعات الإندونيسية في ضوء كتاب "الإضاءات" لعبد الرحمن الفوزان، وبالأخص بتحليل الأهداف الدراسية ومحتوى المقررات واستراتيجية التعليم والتعلم المكتوبة في خطط تلك الجامعات الأربع. هذا البحث بحث مكتبي نوعي مع مقاربة وصفي تحليلي مقارن. توصلت الدراسة إلى أن الجانب النظري أو المعرفي يسود جل أهداف تدريس هذه المادة. وأن محتوى مقررات دراسية لهذه المادة يغلب عليها الطابع النظري على حساب الطابع العملي المهارتي. وأن غالبية استراتيجيات لتدريس  المواد المقررة تعتمد كثيرا على المحاضرة والمناقشة والأسئلة والأجوبة وتوزيع الوظيفة الخاصة للمقرر دون اللجوء إلى تدريبات النطق للأصوات العربية المنعدمة في الأصوات الإندونيسية. فلمعالجة هذه المشاكل يقترح الباحث استكمال الاستراتيجيات الموجودة في الخطة باستخدام استراتيجية تعليم مادة علم الأصوات عند عبد الرحمن الفوزان في كتابه "الإضاءات" من خلال التدريبات الصوتية الثلاثة.

Abstract

One good way of expressing your thoughts and feelings is by writing. The existence of maharah kitabah learning can help students express their thoughts and feelings. In this digital era, there are many ways to practice writing skills. In this case, it can be seen from the development of maharah kitabah learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the digital development of maharah kitabah learning in the Sinta 2 journal for 2020-2022. The method used in this study is a literature review with a qualitative approach. Literature review will provide an overview of the development of a particular topic. Literature review will allow a researcher to identify a theory or method, develop a theory or method, identify gaps that occur between a theory and relevance in the field / to a research result. The results obtained from this study are, because this research is limited to accredited journals of the sinata 2 journal in 2020-2022, there has not been much development in digitalization in maharah kitabah learning in the sinta 2 journal in 2020-2022. So it requires special attention for reputable journals sinta 2 to further increase the use of digital technology, especially in maharah kitabah learning.

Abstract

The reason for choosing this research stems from the researcher's interest in exploring the practice of an Arabic language teacher who conducts self-study, to improve the quality of learning that he does. The qualitative research method, using a phenomenological approach, was chosen because it was felt that this research method was the most appropriate to further explore information related to independent learning carried out by Arabic language teachers. Data was collected by looking at the whole process of daily activities, in-depth interviews, and observations of independent learning carried out. The subject of this research is an Arabic teacher who was chosen based on the criteria of self-learning represented through daily activities. The results of this study report that there are seven independent learning activities carried out, namely: reading, watching video tutorials, listening to podcasts, taking online courses, conducting experiments, discussing with others, and attending training programs. This research contributes to expanding the study of self-learning, which is important for teachers to do, as a self-effort to improve the quality of Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Research on the style of balaghah language has a very important goal, which is to convey the beauty of the style of language conveyed by the author in a prose to convey the intended meaning to the readers, especially in the novel Sununuwati Kabul by Yasmina Khadra. This research needs to be discussed because after the researcher conducted a survey of this novel and the researcher found the beautiful Arabic styles that the author used in expressing an event that will be described to the reader, especially the Tashbih language style in Balaghah. So, with the explanation of this novel must be examined more deeply about the various styles of Tasybih language used by the author. The author of the novel Sununuwati Kabul uses tasybih language style in conveying ideas and goals. In this study, the researcher used a type of qualitative research, in which this research was more about describing or explaining the existing data, for the research method, the researcher used a descriptive analysis method. This method is carried out by explaining or describing the data then followed by an analysis of the data using a predetermined theory. As for data collection techniques, researchers used the library research method or library research to explain the data in this study. The results of this study are 7 types, including: tasybih mursal is totaling 4, tasybih mursal mufassal goiru tamtsil is totaling 28, tasybih mursyal mujmal is totaling 25, tasybih mursal mujmal jama' is totaling 1, tasybih muakkad mufassal goiru tamtsil is totaling 3, tasybih balig is totaling 2, tasybih mursal maqlub is totaling 5.  And from these results the author concludes that this novel describes a beautiful and meaningful Arabic style. Because the style of tasybih language is not only one or two but, the author came up with many styles of tasybih language to express the parables of the parables of the existing events. هذا البحث عن أسلوب لغة البلاغة له هدف مهم للغاية، وهو نقل جمال أسلوب اللغة الذي ينقله المؤلف في نثر لإيصال المعنى المقصود للقراء، خاصة في رواية سنونوات الكابول لياسمينة خضرا. يستخدم مؤلف رواية سنونوات الكابول أسلوب لغة تشبيه في نقل الأفكار والأهداف. في هذه الدراسة، استخدم الباحث نوعًا من البحث النوعي، حيث كان هذا البحث أكثر حول وصف أو شرح البيانات الموجودة، أما بالنسبة لمنهج البحث، فقد استخدم الباحث أسلوب التحليل الوصفي. يتم تنفيذ هذه الطريقة من خلال شرح أو وصف البيانات ثم يتبعها تحليل البيانات باستخدام نظرية محددة سلفًا. أما بالنسبة لتقنيات جمع البيانات ، فقد استخدم الباحثون أسلوب البحث في المكتبات أو البحث المكتبي لشرح البيانات في هذه الدراسة. أما نتائج هذه الدراسة هي 7 أنواع ، بما في ذلك:تشبيه مرسل هو 4 ،تشبيه مرسل مفصل غير التمثيل هو  28 تشبيه مرسل مجمل هو 25، تشبيه مرسل مجمل جمع 'هو إجمالي 1 ،تشبيه مؤكد مفصل تمثيل هو 4، تسيبية بليغ هو 2 ، تشيبية مرسل مقلوب هو 5.  ومن هذه النتائج يستنتج المؤلف أن هذه الرواية تصف أسلوبا عربيا جميلا وهادفا. لأن أسلوب لغة التشبيه ليس واحدا أو اثنين فقط ، ولكن المؤلف توصل إلى العديد من أنماط لغة  التشبيه للتعبير عن أمثال الأحداث القائمة.

Abstract

Teaching Arabic at the middle school level has a crucial role in shaping students’ Arabic language skills, especially in the seventh grade. In view of the challenges and needs in the learning process, the researcher tried to improve students’ abilities to understand and apply these challenges. This research seeks to develop the pocketbook as a companion to the Arabic language book to improve language skills at Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Middle School, describe its validity, and the effectiveness of its use. The results of the research in this study are (1) This development research used the Borg & Gall development model, and the steps taken by the researcher were needs analysis, desk study, field study, material selection, product development, expert testing, correction, product trial and final product improvement. The development of this educational material led to the creation of the pocketbook as a companion to the Arabic language book consisting of three units, (2) Validity testing was conducted which includes expert testing in two main aspects: validity of the material and validity of the methods. The results of the material validity test were 70%, while the results of the methods validity test were 90.8%. (3) The pocketbook received the category of effective for use as an educational tool for seventh grade students at Al Hamidiya Islamic Middle School. The test results show that the calculated t value is larger than the t table, that is, the calculated t is -24.948 while the t table is 2.060. إن تعليم اللغة العربية على مستوى المدرسة المتوسطة له دور حاسم في تشكيل مهارات اللغة العربية لدى الطلاب، وخاصة في الصف السابع. وذلك بالنظر إلى التحديات والاحتياجات في عملية التعلم، حاولت الباحثة لتحسين قدرات الطلاب على فهم وتطبيق هذه التحديات وجوه. يسعى هذا البحث إلى تطوير كتاب الجيب كمصاحب كتاب اللغة العربية لتحسين المهارات اللغوية بامدرسة الحميدية المتوسطة الإسلامية، ووصف صلاحيته، وفعالية استخدامه. فنتائج البحث في هذه الدراسة هي (1) استخدم بحث التطوير هذا نموذج التطوير Borg & Gall، والخطوات التي قامت بها الباحثة هي تحليل الاحتياجات، والدراسة المكتبية، والدراسة الميدانية، واختيار المواد، وتطوير المنتج، واختبار الخبراء، والتصحيح، وتجربة المنتج وتحسين المنتج النهائي. أدى تطوير هذه المادة التعليمية إلى إنشاء كتاب الجيب كمصاحب كتاب اللغة العربية يتكون من ثلاث وحدات، (2) تم إجراء اختبار الصلاحية الذي يتضمن اختبار الخبراء في جانبين رئيسيين: صلاحية المادة وصلاحية الوسائل. وكانت نتائج اختبار صلاحية المادة 70%، في حين بلغت نتائج اختبار صلاحية الوسائل 90.8%، (3) حصل كتاب الجيب على فئة فعالة للاستخدام كوسيلة تعليمية لطلاب الصف السابع بمدرسة الحميدية المتوسطة الإسلامية. أظهرت نتائج الاختبار أن قيمة t المحسوبة أكبر من جدول t، أي أن t المحسوب هو -24,948 بينما جدول t هو 2,060.
