Abstract

Raising disaster awareness for student teachers has become a necessity nowadays, especially in Indonesia which is geographically located in the world's ring of fire. It is hoped that the physics practicum-based landslide learning model will be able to raise disaster awareness among prospective teachers. By using a landslide case study, this research seeks to create a disaster learning resource model that is student-oriented, including lesson plans, LKPD, syllabus, and disaster awareness evaluation. The 4D model research design—Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate—is the research methodology used in this research. Analysis of learning objectives, disaster awareness, and disasters is completed in the Define step. Learning tools are created during the Design stage. Product development, product expert validation, product revision, and testing of methods for evaluating student instructors' knowledge of disasters are all carried out in the development stage; Product distribution has not been completed at the disseminate stage. The trial was carried out among a sample of fifteen prospective teachers from the Physics Education Study Program, FKIP, Mataram University. The expert validator test of the disaster (landslide) learning model learning tool based on practical physics gave valid results. The results of the validity and reliability test of the disaster awareness evaluation instrument are valid and reliable. These results support the idea that disaster awareness assessment instruments and learning resources for prospective teachers can be used in the classroom.

Abstract

Science education is a great opportunity to create a generation of people with character. In classroom learning, there are several obstacles so that students do not optimally accept concepts or experience misconceptions. This situation proves that a learning process is needed that can overcome this problem. The aim achieved is to determine the effect of learning using the Interactive Demonstration model on increasing understanding of the concepts of class VII students in the material of temperature, heat, and expansion. Quasi Experiment is the method used and the design refers to Posttest-Only Control Design. The posttest results for conceptual understanding in the experimental class were superior to the results obtained in the control class. So, we can conclude that understanding the concepts of temperature, heat, and expansion in class VII at SMPN 20 Pekanbaru can be improved through the application of the Interactive Demonstration model.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the physics literacy skills of students solving HOTS questions and self-regulated learning (SRL) on measurement material at private high schools in Maju Village, through descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The instruments used include questionnaires, and HOTS test questions on Measurement material. The results showed that the low SRL category (score 98) was unable to reach the questions at C4. The medium group (score 120), could not fulfill all level 4 indicators. In high SRL, students are able to fulfill the indicators, by solving the problem completely, using the right information, applying numeracy skills, and being able to provide conclusions and their reasons, but cannot fulfill the indicators at level 5 and 6. The learning independence factor plays a significant role in determining the level of HOTS student.

Abstract

In the teaching process needed by the teacher, namely the use of learning models, because it creates an atmosphere of effectiveness in the classroom and also for understanding and mastering concepts in physics material. According to MA Miftahul Ulum Bettet, students' conceptual understanding, especially in physics, is low, the evidence is that students' daily test results do not reach the minimum completeness criteria. The purpose of this study is whether there is a significant effect applying discovery learning as a learning model with the help of mind mapping based zooming presentation media on dynamic electrical material on understanding concepts. This type of research is a quasi-experimental using a pretest posttest control group design. All students of MA Miftahul Bettet are the research population, while 2 classes as samples are taken randomly, namely class XIA and class XIB. The data acquisition technique uses a test instrument. The data was processed using t-test, the value of tcount > ttable (7.526>2.606) so significant (2-tailed) <0.05 (0.000 <0.05). For this reason, the conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of the application of the discovery learning model with the help of mind mapping based zooming presentation media on students' understanding of the concept of dynamic electricity.
