Abstract

Abstract Interest in web-based multimodality learning media has increased rapidly in recent years. Multimodality learning media combines various elements such as text, images, audio, video, animation, and interactivity to create rich and interesting learning experiences. This study aims to describe the success and acceptability of web-based multimodality learning media among students. This study uses a qualitative approach involving students from various levels of education. Data was collected through observation, interviews and surveys. The results showed that web-based multimodality learning media was highly accepted by students. They expressed high satisfaction with interactive multimodality learning experiences and greater involvement in the learning process. Learners appreciate the accessibility of web-based learning media that allows flexible and independent learning. They also reported that the use of various media elements such as images, videos, and audio helps reinforce understanding and maintain interest in learning. Students also like interactive features that allow them to be actively involved in the learning process, such as quizzes, interactive exercises, and online discussions. However, this study also identified several challenges that need to be addressed. Some students experience problems accessing a stable and limited internet, while others have limitations in technology skills. In addition, the attention that is divided between learning media and online distractions is also a challenge faced by students. Referring to the results of this study, it is suggested that educational institutions continue to encourage the use of web-based multimodality learning media. Efforts need to be made to improve internet accessibility and provide technology skills training to students. In addition, it is important to design learning media that are interesting, interactive, and easy to use to maintain students' interest and involvement in the learning process. Abstract

The emergence of issues of species extinction, pollution, scarcity, and others need to be addressed by everyone, including educators. One solution is the use of motion graphics-based learning media. This research was conducted to describe design development, design validity, and the effectiveness of motion graphic designs with content related to Education for Sustainable Development. The research method used is Design-Based Research. The stages of this research include identifying and analyzing problems for initial development needs, designing motion graphics media designs, implementing, reflecting, and making the final product. This research was conducted at the UPI Campus Tasikmalaya partner school. The results of the study found that motion graphics which contain Education for Sustainable Development are very useful as a medium for learning the functions of attention and affection significantly. Motion graphics duration of no more than 3-5 minutes is sufficient to focus students' attention on learning more deeply about human activity with a sustainable perspective. However, it was also found that this short duration limits the richer educational content related to Education for Sustainable Development, so it is recommended to use motion graphics in combination with learning media and other teaching materials.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a literacy learning model based on the visual analogy of Wayang Sukuraga as a construction of values in reflective writing for elementary school students. EASI integrates the visual analogy media of Wayang Sukuraga with reflective writing learning to enhance understanding and value development in writing. The inadequate literacy programs in elementary schools, especially in students' writing abilities integrated with local wisdom values, became the background of this research. As a solution, the author developed a literacy learning model based on the visual analogy of Wayang Sukuraga and conducted a limited test and effectiveness of this model in seven elementary schools in Sukabumi City. This research used a research and development method involving the stages of development, validation, and implementation of the learning model. The research subjects were elementary school students in seven schools in Sukabumi City, in the area where Wayang Sukuraga originated. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and written tests. The results of the research showed that this model is effective in improving reflective writing skills and constructing values in students, especially in religious values, honesty, courage, independence, cooperation, and hard work. The visual analogy of Wayang Sukuraga proved to be an effective means of facilitating literacy learning for students, so the development of a literacy learning model based on the visual analogy of Wayang Sukuraga can be an effective alternative for improving reflective writing skills and value construction in elementary school students in Sukabumi City. Furthermore, this model is also effective in facilitating a more active, creative, and enjoyable learning process for students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition model assisted by video media on its effect on reading comprehension and critical thinking. With a hypothesis that has a significant effect on students' reading comprehension and critical thinking skills, this research departs from the low reading comprehension ability and critical thinking skills of students at SDN Cihanjawar 02. A quantitative method with a quasi-experimental method is the method used in this research. Meanwhile, the design used is a non-equivalent group by conducting a pretest and posttest. Management techniques are carried out using normality tests, homogeneity tests, t tests and effect sizes. With the results of this research data analysis, there is an influence arising from the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition model on the ability to read comprehension and critical thinking of fifth grade students at SDN Cihanjawar 02 based on the results of the Independent Sample T test obtained a sig (2-taled) value of 0.025 < 0.05 for reading comprehension ability and 0.010 <0.05 which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. With the influence seen from the effect size test of 0.54 for reading comprehension skills and 0.60 for critical thinking skills, it can be said that the Cooperative Integrated Reading And Compositon model assisted by video media has a moderate effect. Abstract

This study explored the relationship between household characteristics and school dropout rates among primary school children in Uganda. Using secondary data from UWEZO Uganda’s 2015 survey, data was gathered from 16,373 children and 808 households across 112 districts. The study employed descriptive and inferential analyses, with Pearson correlation and linear logistic regression used to assess key household variables. Results showed that the gender and education level of the household head, the number of children, and meal frequency significantly influenced children's likelihood of dropping out of school. These findings underscore the importance of household well-being in ensuring children remain in school. The study suggests that, in addition to government efforts to promote gender equality, both parents should be equally engaged in their children’s education. It also advocates for family planning and food security campaigns to enhance school retention.
