Abstract

Fresh graduates who have just completed their education are believed to have less mature career preparation. Good career adaptability is believed to support readiness to find work. Mature career readiness can help fresh graduates face job demands and career challenges in the world of work so as to bring happiness at work. This study aims to determine the relationship between career adaptability and happiness at work in fresh graduate employees. This research is a quantitative study using cluster sampling technique with a sample of 112 people. Data collection uses two scales, namely the career adaptability scale and the happiness at work scale. The analysis was carried out using the Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between career adaptability and happiness at work in fresh graduate employees (r = 0.688, p = 0.001) which means the research hypothesis is accepted. Additional analysis results show that the career concern aspect has a contribution of 26.18%, the career control aspect is 11.67%, the career curiosity aspect is 8.28%, and the career confidence aspect is 12.86%. Fresh graduate yang baru menyelesaikan pendidikannya diyakini memiliki persiapan karir yang kurang matang. Kemampuan career adaptability yang baik diyakini dapat menunjang kesiapan untuk mencari pekerjaan. Kesiapan karir yang matang dapat membantu fresh graduate menghadapi tuntutan pekerjaan serta tantangan karir di dunia kerja sehingga memunculkan kebahagiaan di tempat kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan career adaptability dan happiness at work pada karyawan fresh graduate. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan teknik cluster sampling dengan sampel berjumlah 112 orang. Pengambilan data menggunakan dua skala yaitu skala career adaptability dan skala happiness at work. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji korelasi Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara career adaptability dan happiness at work pada karyawan fresh graduate (r = 0.688, p = 0.001) yang berarti hipotesis penelitian diterima. Hasil analisis tambahan menunjukkan bahwa aspek career concern memiliki kontribusi sebesar 26,18%, aspek career control 11,67%, aspek career curiosity 8,28%, dan aspek career confidence sebesar 12,86%.

Abstract

Bali is known for its strong traditions and culture where women play an important role in defending these values. In the midst of modernization, Generation Z women in Bali, especially in Denpasar City and Badung Regency, face challenges in balancing their roles as workers, wives, mothers, and members of indigenous peoples. This study aims to understand how Balinese women workers who marry at a young age achieve harmony in themselves in the midst of the complexity of multi-role undertaken. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research sample consisted of four Balinese women generation Z who were married and worked in the government, private, or entrepreneurial sectors in Badung Regency and Denpasar City. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, passive participation observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman models with the help of NVivo 14 software. The results of the study show that Balinese female workers experience role conflicts, time conflicts, and behavioral conflicts, which have an impact on work-family conflict and work stress. The main factors that affect this imbalance include triple roles, quarter life crisis, marriage culture shock, and job hopping. To overcome these challenges, the informants apply coping strategies such as work-life balance strategies, role management, time management, outsourcing, and family support. The conclusion of this study confirms that although Balinese women workers strive to achieve harmony within themselves, they still face challenges in fulfilling the aspect of work-life balance. Family support and effective adaptation strategies have an important role in achieving their harmonization of multi-roles. Bali dikenal dengan tradisi dan budaya yang kuat di mana perempuan memainkan peran penting dalam mempertahankan nilai-nilai tersebut. Di tengah modernisasi, perempuan generasi Z di Bali, khususnya di Kota Denpasar dan Kabupaten Badung, menghadapi tantangan dalam menyeimbangkan peran sebagai pekerja, istri, ibu, dan anggota masyarakat adat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana pekerja wanita Bali yang menikah pada usia muda mencapai harmonisasi dalam dirinya di tengah kompleksitas multi peran yang dijalani. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari empat wanita Bali generasi Z yang telah menikah dan bekerja di sektor pemerintahan, swasta, atau wirausaha di Kabupaten Badung dan Kota Denpasar. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipasi pasif, dan dokumentasi, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman dengan bantuan perangkat lunak NVivo 14. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pekerja wanita Bali mengalami konflik peran, konflik waktu, dan konflik perilaku, yang berdampak pada work-family conflict serta work stress. Faktor utama yang memengaruhi ketidakseimbangan ini meliputi triple roles, quarter life crisis, marriage culture shock, dan job hopping. Untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut, para informan menerapkan strategi coping seperti work-life balance strategies, manajemen peran, manajemen waktu, outsourcing, serta dukungan keluarga. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa meskipun pekerja wanita Bali berupaya mencapai harmonisasi dalam dirinya, mereka masih menghadapi tantangan dalam memenuhi aspek work-life balance. Dukungan keluarga dan strategi adaptasi yang efektif memiliki peran penting dalam mencapai harmonisasi diri mereka menjalani multi peran.

Abstract

The 2023 Work Gratitude Day survey shows that 48.9% of employees feel grateful when they get rewards in the form of materials, 41% feel grateful when they get additional leave, and the rest feel grateful for personalized rewards (Lomas, 2024). In fact, individuals feel grateful and happy when they are associated with material things that are general and temporary. Individual happiness and gratitude can be explained through the construction of subjective well-being. Subjective well-being is the ability of individuals to conduct cognitive and affective evaluations of their lives (Diener, 1984). This research aims to provide education and promotive efforts that can be an individual's capital to improve subjective well-being in themselves. The expected output is an increase in knowledge in the form of being able to find creative ways to foster subjective well-being in oneself. The intervention was in the form of psychoeducation which was attended by 24 experimental groups and had the last education at the strata 1 level. Webinars are designed based on problem-based learning. The research design is a quasi-experimental one group pretest and posttest design. Convenience sampling techniques, and hypothesis tests using the Wilcoxon signed-rank statistical test. The results of the analysis test showed that the significance value of p=0.018

Abstract

Business competition in the retail sector is currently very competitive characterized by the number of retail businesses in Indonesia that compete starting from traditional retail businesses and the emergence of modern retail businesses. Retail companies are facing intense pressure due to technological advancements, increased consumer expectations, and fierce competition. To deal with these market changes, strategies are needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of organizational justice and knowledge sharing on innovative work behavior among retail company employees. This study also aims to examine how gender role differences affect innovative work behavior. A total of 110 employees from a retail company in makassar was recruited using non-probability sampling technique. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test the validity of each scale using Mplus software. Multiple regression analysis method was utilized to analyse the data, using SPSS software. The results showed that organizational justice and knowledge sharing significantly have a positive influence on innovative work behavior. This study suggests the company should implement fair, transparent policies, and strengthen the culture of knowledge sharing to create innovative work behavior. Persaingan bisnis di sektor ritel saat ini sangat kompetitif ditandai dengan banyaknya bisnis ritel di Indonesia yang bersaing mulai dari bisnis ritel tradisional hingga munculnya bisnis ritel modern. Perusahaan ritel menghadapi tekanan yang hebat karena kemajuan teknologi, meningkatnya ekspektasi konsumen, dan persaingan yang ketat. Untuk menghadapi perubahan pasar tersebut, diperlukan strategi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran keadilan organisasi dan berbagi pengetahuan terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif pada karyawan perusahaan ritel. Penelitian ini juga ingin melihat bagaimana perbedaan peran gender terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif. Sebanyak 110 karyawan dari sebuah perusahaan ritel di Makassar direkrut dengan menggunakan teknik non-probability sampling. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) digunakan untuk menguji validitas setiap skala dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Mplus. Metode analisis regresi berganda digunakan untuk menganalisis data, dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa organizational justice dan knowledge sharing secara signifikan memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap innovative work behavior. Penelitian ini menyarankan perusahaan perlu menerapkan kebijakan yang adil, transparan, dan memperkuat budaya berbagi pengetahuan untuk menciptakan perilaku kerja yang inovatif.

Abstract

The sandwich generation is recognized as a group with dual responsibilities, namely fulfilling the needs of both children and parents simultaneously. This condition often leads to significant financial and emotional pressures. This study aims to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and problem-solving abilities among retail store employees in the sandwich generation in Seberang Ulu, Palembang. The research employs a quantitative correlational method involving 147 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using emotional intelligence and problem-solving scales, analyzed through simple regression tests. The results indicate a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and problem-solving abilities, with a correlation coefficient of R = 0.577 (p < 0.01) and an emotional intelligence contribution of 33.3% to problem-solving. These findings suggest that individuals with high emotional intelligence tend to be more effective in addressing problems. The implications of this study highlight the importance of training and interventions to develop emotional intelligence in the workplace, enhancing the problem-solving abilities of the sandwich generation so they can adapt better to the pressures and demands of dual roles. Generasi sandwich dikenal sebagai kelompok yang memiliki tanggung jawab ganda, yaitu memenuhi kebutuhan anak-anak dan orang tua secara bersamaan. Kondisi ini seringkali memunculkan tekanan finansial dan emosional yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada pegawai toko retail generasi sandwich di Seberang Ulu, Palembang. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan melibatkan 147 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui skala kecerdasan emosional dan problem solving, yang dianalisis menggunakan uji regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan problem solving dengan koefisien korelasi R = 0,577 (p < 0,01) dan kontribusi kecerdasan emosional sebesar 33,3% terhadap problem solving. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa individu dengan kecerdasan emosional tinggi cenderung lebih efektif dalam menghadapi masalah. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya pelatihan dan intervensi pengembangan kecerdasan emosional di tempat kerja untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah generasi sandwich, sehingga mereka dapat lebih adaptif dalam mengelola tekanan dan tuntutan peran ganda.

Abstract

Academic achievements, which should ideally be a source of pride, can instead create pressure that has the potential to trigger impostor phenomenon in some students. This study aims to examine the role of academic self-efficacy and academic self-concept on impostor phenomenon among high achiever students in Malang City. A quantitative approach with a multiple regression design was employed in this study. The respondents consisted of 385 high achiever students, meeting the criteria of class year 2019-2021, aged 18-25 years, and having a GPA above 3.50. Several instruments were used in this study, including: 1) The Academic Self-efficacy Scale (TASES); 2) The Academic Self-concept Scale Short Form (ASCS-SF); and 3) The Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS). The results indicate that academic self-efficacy and academic self-concept have a significant effect on impostor phenomenon both partially and simultaneously, with a contribution of 24.1%. Prestasi akademik yang seharusnya menjadi suatu kebanggaan, justru dapat menimbulkan tekanan tersendiri yang berpotensi memicu impostor phenomenon bagi beberapa mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran academic self-efficacy dan academic self-concept terhadap impostor phenomenon pada high achiever student di Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain regresi berganda. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 385 high achiever student dengan kriteria tahun angkatan 2019-2021, berusia 18-25 tahun, dan memiliki IPK diatas 3,50. Terdapat beberapa instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: 1) The Academic Self-efficacy Scale (TASES); 2) The Academic Self-concept Scale Short Form (ASCS-SF); dan 3) Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa academic self-efficacy dan academic self-concept berpengaruh signifikan terhadap impostor phenomenon baik secara parsial maupun simultan, dengan sumbangan pengaruh sebesar 24,1%.

Abstract

The issue of homosexuality, particularly gay individuals, had been a topic of debate from various perspectives, including both pro and con views. In recent decades, the presence of gay individuals began to gain attention, especially through media and films. This research aimed to explore the relationship between self-concept, subjective well-being, and social support among gay adolescents in Samarinda, as well as analyze the role of social support in moderating or mediating the relationship between self-concept and subjective well-being. This study was quantitative research with a non-experimental approach. There was a significant relationship between self-concept and subjective well-being among gay adolescents in Samarinda, and social support also influenced subjective well-being. The implications of this research could provide insights for policy counseling and more targeted interventions to improve the well-being of gay adolescents through the development of better self-concept and social support. Isu homoseksualitas khususnya gay telah menjadi topik perdebatan dari berbagai sudut pandang termasuk pro dan kontra. Dalam beberapa dekade terakhir keberadaan gay mulai mendapatkan perhatian terutama melalui media dan perfilman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri hubungan antara konsep diri, subjective well-being, dan dukungan sosial pada remaja gay di Samarinda, serta menganalisis peran dukungan sosial dalam memoderasi atau memediasi hubungan antara konsep diri dan subjective well-being. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan non-eksperimental. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara konsep diri dan subjective well-being pada remaja Gay di kota Samarinda serta dukungan sosial yang turut mempengaruhi subjective well-being. Implikasi dari penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan bagi penyuluhan kebijakan dan intervensi yang lebih tepat sasaran dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan remaja Gay melalui pengembangan konsep diri dan dukungan sosial yang lebih baik.

Abstract

Prisoners ace a loss of freedom and difficulty adapting, which increases stress and aggressiveness. Resilience is essential for survival, while locus of control plays a role in behavior regulation. This study aims to analyze the influence of locus of control and resilience on inmate aggressiveness at Class IIB Detention Center Banyumas. A quantitative method was used with a sample of 109 inmates selected through non-probability sampling. The results of the study showed that locus of control influenced aggressiveness, resilience influenced aggressiveness, and locus of control and resilience simultaneously influenced aggressiveness. The dimensions of locus of control (internality, external power and external chance) influenced as predictors in influencing the aggressiveness of prisoners in Class IIB Banyumas Penitentiary. The dimensions of resilience (emotion regulation, empathy and reaching out) influenced as predictors in influencing the aggressiveness of prisoners in Class IIB Banyumas Penitentiary. These findings emphasize the importance of psychological interventions to increase resilience and change the locus of control to suppress the aggressiveness of prisoners Narapidana menghadapi kehilangan kebebasan dan kesulitan beradaptasi, yang meningkatkan stres dan agresivitas. Resiliensi diperlukan untuk bertahan, sementara locus of control berperan dalam pengendalian perilaku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh locus of control dan resiliensi terhadap agresivitas narapidana di Rutan Kelas IIB Banyumas. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan sampel 109 narapidana melalui teknik non-probability sampling. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa locus of control berpengaruh terhadap agresivitas, resiliensi berpengaruh terhadap agresivitas, dan locus of control dan resiliensi secara bersamaan berpengaruh terhadap agresivitas. Dimensi locus of control (internality, external powerful dan external chance) berpengaruh sebagai prediktor dalam memberikan pengaruh agresivitas Narapidana di Rutan Kelas IIB Banyumas. Dimensi resiliensi (emotion regulation, empathy dan reaching out) berpengaruh sebagai prediktor dalam memberikan pengaruh agresivitas Narapidana di Rutan Kelas IIB Banyumas. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya intervensi psikologis untuk meningkatkan resiliensi dan mengubah locus of control guna menekan agresivitas narapidana.

Abstract

Individuals in long-distance relationships (LDR) have many challenges in maintaining their relationships. Many admit that it is difficult to live to the point of questioning the certainty of the relationship. However, many have also succeeded in living long-distance relationships. In fact, although LDR couples rarely have direct contact, they also have the same level of romantic relationship satisfaction as those in geographically close relationships. This study aims to explore the description of romantic relationship satisfaction in individuals in long-distance relationships. The method used is a literature review based on a literature review of previous publications regarding romantic relationship satisfaction in individuals in long-distance relationships. This study then shows that in achieving relationship satisfaction in LDR couples, namely by utilizing technological assistance to communicate which is then used for self-disclosure to build trust and minimize uncertainty in the relationship. Romantic relationship satisfaction also has an impact on individual health. Individu yang menjalani hubungan jarak jauh (LDR) memiliki banyak tantangan untuk mempertahankan hubungannya. Banyak yang mengakui sulit menjalaninya hingga mempertanyakan kepastian hubungannya. Namun banyak juga yang berhasil dalam menjalani hubungan jarak jauh. Faktanya, meskipun pasangan LDR jarang melakukan kontak secara langsung, mereka juga memiliki tingkat kepuasan relasi romantis yang sama dengan mereka yang berada dalam hubungan yang dekat secara geografis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi terkait gambaran kepuasan relasi romantis pada individu yang menjalani long distance relationship. Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review berdasarkan kajian literatur publikasi-publikasi sebelumnya mengenai kepuasan relasi romantis pada individu yang menjalani long distance relationship. Penelitian ini kemudian menunjukkan bahwa dalam mencapai kepuasan hubungan dalam pasangan LDR yaitu dengan memanfaatkan bantuan teknologi untuk berkomunikasi yang selanjutnya digunakan untuk pengungkapan diri demi terbentuknya kepercayaan dan meminimalisir ketidakpastian dalam hubungan. Kepuasan relasi romantis juga berdampak pada kesehatan individu.

Abstract

Reading is a very important skill to master. The ability to read is an important part of human life as a window of knowledge. But not all students can read and understand reading fluently. Especially mentally retarded students who have intellectual abilities, memory, and concentration are very limited. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of Fernald's method in learning to read children with mental retardation who have problems in reading. The subjects of this study were third grade elementary school students with mental retardation who had early reading problems. The research method is single subject experiment and analysis technique using pretest posttest score chart. The data collection instrument used is WISC. Fernald's method was given in 6 meeting Sessions. The results of the study showed an increase in reading ability after the intervention to the subjects. So it can be concluded that Fernald's method can improve reading skills in third grade students who are mentally retarded. Membaca merupakan keterampilan esensial yang berperan sebagai pintu gerbang pengetahuan. Namun, tidak semua peserta didik memiliki kapasitas yang sama dalam menguasainya, terutama siswa dengan retardasi mental yang mengalami keterbatasan dalam intelegensi, memori, dan konsentrasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji efektivitas metode Fernald dalam pembelajaran membaca bagi siswa dengan hambatan intelektual. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas tiga SD yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca awal. Menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen subjek tunggal dan analisis grafis melalui skor pretest dan posttest, data dikumpulkan dengan instrumen WISC. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi membaca setelah enam sesi penerapan metode Fernald, yang menegaskan potensi metode ini dalam mendukung perkembangan literasi pada anak berkebutuhan khusus. Tes informal disusun berdasarkan kurikulum sekolah Abdurahman (2012).
