Abstract

تتناول هذه الدراسة استجابات طلاب مادورا تجاه منهج دورة اللغة العربية عبر الإنترنت من منظور التعليم القائم على النتائج (OBE). ومع التقدم في تكنولوجيا المعلومات، أصبح التعلم الإلكتروني أكثر سهولة، مما أتاح للطلاب فرصًا أوسع لتعميق معارفهم خارج إطار الفصول الدراسية التقليدية. تبحث هذه الدراسة في دوافع طلاب مادورا للالتحاق بالدورات العربية الإلكترونية، ومدى تقبلهم لمنهج التعليم القائم على النتائج، وتأثير هذه الدورات على نتائج تعلمهم. وقد استخدمت الدراسة المنهج النوعي، حيث جُمعت البيانات من خلال المقابلات والملاحظات الميدانية مع 18 طالبًا من مادورا ينتمون إلى عدد من المعاهد الإسلامية. وكشفت النتائج عن رؤى مهمة تتعلق بالعوامل الثقافية والاجتماعية التي تؤثر في تفاعلهم واستجابتهم للتعلم الإلكتروني، مما يبرز أهمية تكييف الممارسات التعليمية بما يتناسب مع السياقات المحلية لتعزيز فعالية التعلم.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze expressive reading-based performative assessment as an innovation in Arabic poetry text learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method through thematic content analysis of various academic literature discussing performative assessment, expressive reading, and Arabic literature learning. The results of the study show that expressive reading is an effective assessment instrument because it is able to measure learners' understanding authentically through phonological accuracy, prosody, fluency, understanding of meaning, and emotional expression. In addition, the use of a multidimensional assessment rubric is considered important to maintain the objectivity and transparency of performative evaluation. This study also emphasizes the role of teachers in guiding text interpretation and providing constructive feedback. The findings of this study contribute conceptually and practically to the development of a holistic, contextual, and learner-oriented assessment model for Arabic poetry learning.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the symbolic meanings and hidden messages in the Arabic lyrics of the song “Dreamers,” performed by Jungkook and Fahad Al-Kubaisi. Using a qualitative descriptive method and Riffaterre’s semiotic approach, the analysis focuses on the discontinuity of expression, heuristic-hermeneutic readings, as well as matrices, models, and hypograms. This study concludes that the meaning of the lyrics is not merely entertainment, but a medium of symbolic expression regarding hope, solidarity, and a universal spirit. The results of this study indicate that: (1) a heuristic reading of the “Dreamers” lyrics depicts a story of individuals who dream and strive to realize those dreams; (2) a hermeneutic reading reveals deeper meanings regarding spirit, optimism, and the conviction to achieve future hopes; (3) the matrix of this song centers on the ideas of dreams and hope; (4) the emerging model is the figure of “dreamers” who dare to dream and continue to strive to achieve their goals; and (5) the hypogram of this song relates to the discourse of motivation, hard work, and the spirit of unity that frequently appears in modern inspirational texts.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the rhetorical understanding of Surah Al-'Alaq verses 1–5, which is often trapped in the dichotomy of literal and esoteric interpretations, using the theoretical framework of Nazm by Abdul Qahir al-Jurjani. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research design. Data were collected using documentation techniques sourced from the primary text of the Qur'an and the book Dala'il al-I'jaz. The analysis uses Nazm-based content analysis to examine the syntactic architecture of the verses. The findings reveal that the syntactic architecture of the verses, such as the fronting of verbs and the omission of objects is not merely a stylistic ornament but an instrument of cognitive engineering. This structure integrates intellectual validity with spiritual awareness, building an epistemological foundation that fundamentally rejects intellectual arrogance. Ideally, Islamic education curricula and digital da'wah strategies should be reoriented to go beyond textual reading towards holistic and transformative structural meaning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate a hybrid multidimensional curriculum model for Arabic language learning in Islamic boarding schools. The study addresses the gap between traditional grammar-based instruction and contemporary communicative approaches in non-formal Islamic education. Using a design-based research (DBR) methodology, the researchers conducted the study in an Arabic language center in Indonesia. The research involved iterative phases of needs analysis, curriculum design, expert validation, field implementation, and evaluation. The findings indicate that the proposed model integrates grammar-based, communicative, situational, and skill-based approaches, resulting in improved learner engagement and language competence. This study contributes to Arabic language pedagogy by offering a context-sensitive and theoretically grounded curriculum model applicable to similar educational settings.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the improvement of the mahaarah al-kalaam ability of PBA STAIN Madina students whose previous education base was Salafiyah boarding school. This study aims to explore the implementation of compensation strategy as a direct strategy in muhadatsah learning in PBA STAIN Madina Study Program, supporting and inhibiting factors and their implications for mahaarah al-kalaam skills. Data were collected using observation and online interview techniques. Data were analyzed based on Miles and Huberman's analysis, namely data reduction, data display, and verification. The findings of this study are 1) the implementation of compensation strategies is integrated into other strategies in muhadatsah 1 learning for beginner-level students 2) there are various supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of compensation strategies both internally and externally, and 3) muhadatsah lecturers and students recognize the implications of implementing compensation strategies in the form of reducing shyness and anxiety, increasing self-confidence and motivation and fostering a sense of pleasure in mahaarah al-kalaam. This research has implications as a foundation and reference for Arabic language teachers and lecturers everywhere in applying compensation strategies as a solution to the limitations of oral language skills for beginners.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the ArabEasy interactive mobile application as a medium for learning Arabic vocabulary (mufradat) for seventh-grade MTs students. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE research model, which includes the stage of analysis, design, development, implementation, and limited evaluation. The research subjects were 15 students of seventh-grade MTs and one Arabic language teacher. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, media and material expert validation questionnaires, as well as teacher and students’ response questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods with a Likert scale. The results show that (1) the development process resulted in an interactive mobile application that integrates vocabulary materials with images, pronunciation audio, example sentences, and interactive quizzes based on the ADDIE development stages and (2) the ArabEasy application was rated as very feasible by media and material expert, and received very positive responses from the teacher and positive responses from the students.

Abstract

This study examines the construction of identity and solidarity in Arabic-language Instagram content related to Palestine from a sociolinguistic perspective. Social media has become a crucial space for expressing collective identity and mobilizing global solidarity. This research employs a qualitative approach using discourse analysis to investigate linguistic strategies in digital communication. The data consist of 15 selected Arabic captions from the Instagram account عين على فلسطين posted between January and March 2025. The analysis is based on the identity construction framework of Bucholtz and Hall (2005) and Critical Discourse Analysis by Fairclough (2015). The findings reveal that identity and solidarity are constructed through collective pronouns, emotional metaphors, and resistance-oriented expressions. These linguistic strategies not only reflect ideological positions but also strengthen emotional engagement and digital solidarity among audiences.

Abstract

Along with technological advancements and the increasing use of social media among students, TikTok has become a potential platform for interactive learning. This study aims to analyze the use of TikTok as an alternative tool in vocabulary learning (mufradat) among students of Arabic Language Education. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through participatory observation and semi-structured interviews. The research sample consists of students from the 2022 cohort of the Arabic Language Education program at UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. Observations were conducted to directly examine how TikTok influences vocabulary learning, while interviews explored students' experiences using the TikTok application. Documentation, including notes and photos, was also gathered to describe the use of TikTok in Arabic language learning, particularly in vocabulary acquisition. The study concludes that the use of TikTok as a social media platform is considered effective as an alternative learning tool for mastering Arabic vocabulary, as indicated by the majority of respondents who viewed TikTok as suitable for such purposes.

Abstract

This study examines the trends and patterns of digital media and artificial intelligence integration in Arabic language learning within pesantren contexts. Using a systematic literature review approach guided by PRISMA procedures, it analyzes 20 selected articles published between 2016 and 2026 from major academic databases. The findings reveal a growing use of digital and AI-based media to enhance learner engagement, motivation, and access to diverse learning resources, particularly in receptive skills such as listening and reading. Theoretically, these practices align with Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and constructivist learning theory, emphasizing interaction, autonomy, and active knowledge construction. However, several limitations persist, including short-term implementations, limited integration of multiple language skills, and the tendency to use technology as a supplementary rather than pedagogically grounded tool. This study contributes by providing a structured synthesis of current research trends and identifying critical gaps in the use of digital and AI-based media in pesantren settings. The findings highlight the need for more comprehensive, integrative, and longitudinal research to develop pedagogically sound and contextually relevant approaches to Arabic language learning.
