Abstract

This study aimed to determine: (1) the effect of fixed target kicking training on the accuracy of penalty kicks, (2) the effect of changing target kicking training on the accuracy of penalty kicks, and (3) which training method is more effective between fixed target kicking training and changing target kicking training in improving penalty kick accuracy. The population in this study consisted of 20 students of SSB Bina Tunas Muda, Purworejo Regency, who were also used as the research sample. This research employed a quantitative experimental method using a pre-test and post-test group design. The sample was divided into two groups receiving different treatments, namely fixed target kicking training and changing target kicking training. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS with descriptive analysis, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results showed that both training methods significantly improved penalty kick accuracy. The fixed target kicking training group showed an increase from a pre-test mean score of 10.90 to a post-test mean score of 18.00 with an improvement of 65.14%. Meanwhile, the changing target kicking training group improved from a pre-test mean score of 10.90 to a post-test mean score of 17.20 with an improvement of 57.80%. Therefore, fixed target kicking training was found to be more effective than changing target kicking training in improving the penalty kick accuracy of students at SSB Bina Tunas Muda, Purworejo Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of learning models, teacher creativity, and teacher competence on motor educability test results in inclusive elementary schools in Salatiga City. This research used a mixed-methods approach with a concurrent design, combining quantitative and qualitative data. The research subjects consisted of four PJOK teachers and 91 fourth-grade students from four inclusive elementary schools in Salatiga. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, documentation, and Motor Educability Tests using the Iowa Brace Test. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were used to strengthen the interpretation of findings. The results showed that the implementation of learning models, teacher creativity, and teacher competence in inclusive physical education was mostly in the moderate category (50%), with some teachers categorized as high (25%) and low (25%). Meanwhile, the results of the Motor Educability Test indicated that all students (100%) were in the high category. These findings indicate that adaptive learning models, teacher creativity in modifying learning activities, and adequate teacher competence contribute to improving students' motor learning abilities in inclusive classes. The study confirms that inclusive physical education can effectively support motor skill development when supported by appropriate pedagogical strategies.

Abstract

Physical education has a strategic role in shaping students holistic development; however, emotional intelligence is often not the main focus in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the relationship between emotional intelligence and physical education learning outcomes among elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method, involving a population of 113 fourth and fifth grade students. Using purposive sampling, 112 students aged 9–11 years were selected as the sample. The research instruments included a Likert-scale emotional intelligence questionnaire and documentation of physical education learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 24, starting with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, which indicated that the data were not normally distributed. Therefore, hypothesis testing was conducted using Spearman Rank correlation analysis. The results showed a correlation coefficient of 0.026 with a significance value of 0.782 (p > 0.05). This indicates that there is no significant relationship between emotional intelligence and physical education learning outcomes among elementary school students. Thus, emotional intelligence is not a primary factor influencing physical education learning outcomes in this study.

Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing the implementation of the National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN) coaching program at the elementary school level. The research addresses issues related to students’ low participation, inconsistent motivation, and various external constraints that hinder the effectiveness of sports coaching. The purpose of this study is to analyze both internal and external factors affecting the success of O2SN coaching. This research employed a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal five main factors influencing O2SN coaching: student motivation, social support, facilities and infrastructure, teacher competence, and school support. Among these, student motivation emerged as the most dominant factor, influenced by aspects such as interest, discipline, physical condition, and self-confidence. External factors, including limited facilities, inadequate social support from parents and the environment, and constraints in teacher competence, were found to hinder optimal implementation. Additionally, school policies and resource allocation play a significant role in supporting the sustainability of the program. Overall, the study highlights the importance of an integrated approach involving students, teachers, schools, and families to enhance the effectiveness of sports coaching programs and improve student achievement in O2SN.
