Manazhim Journal is an interdisciplinary publication of original research and writing on islamic education management. This journal was published by Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI) STIT Palapa Nusantara Lombok - NTB which was published twice in a year (biannualy), February and August with a minimum of 5 articles. The journal aims to provide a forum for scholarly understanding of the field of education and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulated knowledge, values, and skills. Abstract

This study aims to determine the management of educational facilities and infrastructure at MI Tarbiyatus Syarifah Sidoarjo. The research method used is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques using interview techniques with madrasa heads and vice principals in the field of infrastructure facilities, observation and documentation. The data that has been collected is analyzed descriptive-narrative. The results of this study indicate that the management of educational facilities and infrastructure at MI Tarbiyatuhs Syarifah is carried out through a process of planning, procurement, storage, inventory maintenance and deletion. In the planning process, it is carried out by coordinating with the school concerned with planning what facilities and infrastructure are needed. Regarding the procurement process, the school made adjustments to the school's needs based on the school's financial condition. For the storage process, the school carries out and utilizes a warehouse by placing the facilities that need to be stored. In the aspect of maintenance, the school carries out routine and periodic maintenance with the aim that goods are not easily damaged. For the inventory aspect, the school carries out a digital documentation process accompanied by a process of removing facilities and infrastructure for items that are no longer used or can no longer be repaired while still following the provisions applied by the school.

Abstract

This study seeks to comprehend and assess the factors that affect the performance of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). The research sample comprises 180 participants, who are PAUD teachers in Jabodetabek. A snowball sampling technique was utilized for participant selection. The data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the SmartPLS (Partial Least Square) 3.2.8 software, encompassing both outer and inner model assessments to evaluate the research hypotheses. The study's outcomes reveal that self-efficacy, training, and achievement motivation have a substantial impact on the performance of PAUD teachers in Jabodetabek. Furthermore, self-efficacy and training affect the achievement motivation of PAUD teachers in Jabodetabek. Additionally, achievement motivation plays a mediating role in the relationship between self-efficacy, training, and the performance of PAUD teachers in Jabodetabek.

Abstract

Student engagement has an important aspect in achieving excellent learning outcomes for learners and further improving their abilities. So teachers must have strategies to encourage student involvement. The aim of this research was to investigate the strategies the teachers use in activating students active learning in teaching and learning process and the challenges the teachers face in promoting students active learning. The researcher used qualitative research. The place of the research was in SMKS Muhammdiyah 1 Palu that located in Letjend Seoprapto. The Subject of the research were all English teachers at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Palu that consist of four teachers. The data collection techniques that wil be used are: In depth Interview, Observation, and Documentation. The data will be analyzed in 3 steps, are Data reduction, data display, and conclusion. After conducting a research in SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Palu, it is found that in stimulating students’ active English learning, the teachers use six strategies; Questionning & discussion, visual based instruction, rolep lay, game, project based learning, and discovery based learning.From those six strategies the teachers used in the previous explanation, there are four strategies that are used dominantly; questioning & discussion, visual based instruction, project based learning, and discovery based learning.researcher proposes that future researchers interested in the same issue might do in-depth research on teacher ways to encourage students' active learning in English. For instance, the specific strategy that can stimulate the specific skill.

Abstract

The main obstacles encountered by students to communicate in English is the lack of their vocabulary, Therefore, there should be strategic efforts made by teachers to increase students’ vocabulary mastery, like using Crossword Puzzle Game. The objective of this research was to examine whether the application of crossword puzzle game can increase vocabulary of grade VII students at SMPS Miftaahul Khairaat Palu or not. This study utilized the Class Action Research design, implemented in a cyclical process encompassing planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research involved 17 seventh-grade students during the academic year 2023-2024.This research was conducted in two cycles; the first cycle consisted of four meetings and the second one consisted of two meetings. Thus, there were totally six meetings in two cycles (cycle 1 and cycle 2). In collecting the data, there were three types of instruments used in this research: tests, observation sheets, and field notes. The results of quantities data analysis indicate that the mean score of posttests in cycle 2, 81.05 is higher than that of posttest in cycle 1, 69.05, and that of pretest in cycle 1, 60.58, Thus, based on the comparison of the students’ vocabulary achievement in pretest and in posttest in cycle 1 and in cycle 2, it can be concluded that the use crossword puzzle game can increase vocabulary of the grade VII students. While the results of qualitative data indicate that the students’ vocabulary increases from cycle 1 to cycle 2.

Abstract

SMK Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin, the Principal plays an important role in shaping policy, fostering a positive organizational culture, and offering strategic support to teaching staff. It is important to dig deep to understand the significant influence of principal leadership on teacher performance. This article will examine how effective leadership can foster a work environment that motivates and empowers teachers, ultimately improving the quality of education in schools. The main focus of this study is to assess the impact of the principal's leadership effectiveness on teacher performance at SMK Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin. Quantitative research methods will be used to achieve this goal. The process of quantitative research involves the utilization of numerical data to acquire knowledge and analyze information. Data collection methods in this type of research include questionnaires and documentation studies. The findings of this study show that the principal's leadership style has an impact on improving teacher performance. The effectiveness of a teacher's performance is determined by how well the principal displays the success of the school in its management. This is supported by an R square adjust value of 0.232 which shows that the principal's leadership style accounts for 23.2% of the variation in teacher performance. The remaining 76.8% was influenced by other variables that were not studied in this study, such as teacher compensation, teaching materials, teaching methods, curriculum readiness, school facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Affective domain assessments that assess the emotional, motivational, attitude, interest, and spirit of learners have the same urgency as cognitive and psychomotor domains. The three domains that are the learning objectives are important positions in learning. But in actualization, the psychomotor and affective domains are often ignored, because they are too complicated and long in time. While the cognitive realm that emphasizes knowledge gets the maximum portion. This is an interesting thing to discuss with the aim of analyzing the assessment of the affective domain in PAI learning at SDN Rampal Celaket 2 Malang along with its supporting and inhibiting factors. Researchers will conduct research with a qualitative-descriptive approach to examine the assessment of affective domains in PAI learning at SDN Rampal Celaket 2 Malang. The data that has been obtained and collected will be analyzed using Milles and Huberman data analysis which includes data reduction, data presentation and conclusions from the data that has been analyzed. According to research that has been conducted, it shows that the assessment of the affective realm at SDN Rampal Celaket 2 Malang is carried out in several stages, there are planning, implementation, and evaluation. In planning, teachers make tables containing statements and assessment scales to be used in their implementation. The implementation is carried out through observation of students and conducting interviews with other teachers. While in the evaluation, the teacher analyzes the non-achievement of students at the assessment threshold. Students who are below the threshold will receive treatment to improve their affective learning outcomes.

Abstract

Students face challenges in English communication primarily due to insufficient vocabulary. Consequently, teachers should actively implement strategic measures to enhance students' mastery of vocabulary, such as incorporating activities like the use of flashcard. The objective of this study is to investigate whether the utilization of flashcard media has a positive impact on enhancing vocabulary. This research is an experimental study with a pre post test design using 2 sample groups, namely the intervention group and the control group consisting of 32 people per group. In choosing the participants, the researcher used purposive sampling. This study was conducted in SMPN 6 Palu since the participants are the students of the eighth grade. The results were analyzed using t table and t calculations to determine the effect. The result showed that the mean score of pre-test of control group is 45.13 and that the mean score post test of control group was 53, whereas the mean score of pre-test of experimental group is 45.38, and the mean score of experimental group was 81.38. t-counted (14.57) is higher that t-table (1.9988). This implies that the research hypothesis has been validated. In summary, the utilization of flashcards proves to be effective in enhancing vocabulary among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Palu. flashcard media could be used as one of media in the classroom, because it easy and interesting in applying for the students.

Abstract

This research aims to understand and analyze competitive advantage through the utilization of human resources to enhance competitiveness at MA Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. This study is based on the fact that madrasah (Islamic school) becomes the second alternative choice due to the incapacity of human resources or customers' doubts about the teachers' abilities in madrasah. Thus, this research focuses on how strategic human resource management nurtures competitive advantage in a pesantren-based madrasah. To reveal this, the researcher employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. In the process, data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman data analysis technique, which consists of data reduction, data display, and verification. This research generates findings that strategic human resource management in enhancing competitive advantage at MA Nurul Jadid is conducted in the form of; 1) formulation of HR policies and procedures; 2) development and training; 3) integrated performance management, and 4) periodic evaluation and adjustment.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are as follows: 1) To explore the development of Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject to improve reading comprehension skills at SDN 1 Sukarara; 2) To analyze the product of the development of Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject in enhancing students' reading comprehension skills at SDN 1 Sukarara; 3) To identify the obstacles faced by teachers and students in implementing Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject at SDN 1 Sukarara. The methods of this research utilized a research and development approach, referring to the Research and Development (R&D) model by Borg and Gall. The population in this study consists of the entire number of male and female students at SDN 1 Sukarara, totaling 251 students, and the research sample was the fourth-grade class, comprising 30 students. This research was conducted from October to December 2023. The product trial included the tested product, trial subjects, and the implementation of the trial. Data collection techniques employed were interviews, questionnaires, written tests, and documentation. Research instruments consisted of: a) Instruments for Subject Matter Experts; b) Instruments for Media Experts; c) Questionnaire Instruments for Students; and d) Student Evaluation Test Instruments. Data analysis was conducted through validation and trial steps by calculating the obtained scores. The data collected in this research were both qualitative and quantitative. The research findings are as follows: 1) Based on validation results, revisions, and evaluations, there was an improvement in the assessment of the developed product, specifically showing positive outcomes for the Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media. The development of this Flip Chart media used the Borg and Gall development model, simplified into 7 steps: needs analysis, design, prototype creation, product revision, field trials, final revision, and utilization; 2) Based on the analysis of expert team validation regarding the quality of the developed product, the Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media falls under the "good" category. Observations during the trial process also indicated that students were enthusiastic about learning when using the developed Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media. The delivery of material using Flip Chart media was easily understood by students. In terms of learning outcomes, the use of Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media also had an impact on students' reading comprehension skills in the Indonesian language. Based on the post-test results given to 30 students, 26 students (87%) passed and 4 students did not pass (23%), classified as "good" learning achievement. This indicates that the development of Interactive Indonesian Flip Chart Media has the potential to facilitate students in learning; and 3) Obstacles in implementing Flip Chart Media in the Indonesian language subject at SDN 1 Sukarara, including 1) Limited Resources, 2) Teacher Readiness Level; 3) Technical Constraints in Using Flip Chart; 4) Varied Student Participation Levels; 5) Lack of Administrative Support; 6) Resistance to Change; and 7) Limited Classroom Physical Conditions.

Abstract

Today, the education system in Islamic boarding schools has been transformed compared to when it was first established. Previously, students only studied religious sciences and did not study general sciences. These changes encourage management in the Islamic boarding school environment to be somewhat different so that it impacts the comfort of students which in turn will determine the students' academic achievement. The success of an educational process is characterized by the achievement of students in the academic field and the ability of students to regulate themselves well. Moreover, Islamic boarding schools' education and parenting systems have this achievement target. The problem is what needs to be investigated better. This study aims to test Attribution variables that strengthen Self-Efficacy and Self-Regulation. These three variables will affect academic achievement and other factors behind it. The study sample comprised 108 Class IX junior high school (SMP) students. The results showed that the attribution variable had an effect on increasing self-efficacy, and the variable on self-efficacy had an impact on improving self-regulation.
