Abstract

This research aims to determine the critical thinking abilities of biology education students on environmental change material, methodology using qualitative differentiation. The population in this research was Biology students in semesters III, V, totaling 57 people. Using a Saturated Sample considering that all of these students have taken Environmental Science courses. This research uses a type of primary data, namely tests, where the thinking test questions focus on environmental change material. Then carry out a Construct and Content Test by colleagues, there are 5 indicators where all 38 questions consist of 28 objective questions and 10 essay questions. After carrying out empirical tests and continuing with Reliability Tests using a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.768. After empirical testing, there are 24 questions that can be used in data collection, including 17 objectives and 7 essays. Research data obtained from indicator one Providing a Simple Explanation, percentage 60.29 in the medium category, indicator two Building Basic Skills, percentage 56.2 in the low category, indicator three Drawing conclusions, percentage 61.12 in the medium category, Indicator four Providing further explanation, percentage 53.21 low category, indicator five Managing Strategy and Tactical 58.55 medium category. It can be concluded that the Critical Thinking Ability of Biology Education Students in Environmental Change Material is in the medium category.

Abstract

Pronunciation is a fundamental aspect of English-speaking skills. This study aims to identify students' pronunciation errors when articulating English short vowels in the fifth semester of the English Language Education program using the English Pronunciation IPA application and to explore the factors contributing to these errors. A qualitative research design was employed, with data collected through pronunciation tests and interviews. The English Pronunciation IPA application was used as a tool to assist students in taking short vowel pronunciation tests. Five students were selected as interview participants. The study findings revealed that students achieved an average score of 15.57, with short vowels scoring 3.70 points. The most frequent pronunciation errors occurred with the /ɒ/ and /æ/ vowel sounds, where students exhibited significant difficulties and confusion. Most interviewed students admitted that they pronounced words based on their written form. The study concluded that language interference and phonological knowledge were key factors affecting students' pronunciation issues. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for teachers regarding students' pronunciation difficulties and serve as a reference for future studies in this area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the Photomath application as a supporting tool in facilitating an intuitive and formal approach in mathematics learning at SMPN 1 Pasir Penyu. This study uses a qualitative approach by involving 10 students in grade IX.7 of SMP Negeri 1 Pasir Penyu as research subjects. Data collection techniques include giving tests, analysis questions, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research instruments include description tests, analysis questions, and the Photomath. The results show that Photomath has limitations in helping students complete the description test. Students revealed that this application is less effective because it does not provide audio and video features that can make their understanding easier. In addition, the completion steps provided are considered to be less detailed, so students find it difficult to follow the overall completion process. This finding indicates the need to develop features in the Photomath application to better support optimal mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study was conducted to improve students' motivation and understanding through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) method in class VIII-B of SMP IT Al Fateeh. The research approach used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach, with data sources derived from students' difficulties in understanding advertising texts, slogans, and posters during the learning process. These difficulties include a lack of understanding of the structure, meaning, and function of the three types of text. The results of this study indicate that the application of the Project Based Learning method can significantly improve students' understanding. This can be seen from the results of the assessment before using the PjBL method, which shows that students' learning achievements are still low. After this method was implemented, there was an increase in both assessment results and student and teacher activities. With a project-based approach, students become more active in exploring materials, collaborating, and developing critical and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the low level of students' understanding of advertisement texts, slogans, and posters, which is due to the lack of comprehensive explanations in the textbooks. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the Picture and Picture learning method for this material as an effort to improve students' comprehension. This study uses a mixed-method approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative data were obtained through student test results, while qualitative data were collected through observation and documentation. The results show that the Picture and Picture method significantly improves student learning outcomes. Of the 16 students who participated as research samples, 12 students met the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKTP), with an average class score of 78.25. In addition, this method positively influenced students' motivation and engagement during the learning process. In conclusion, the Picture and Picture method can be used as an effective, engaging, interactive, and contextual alternative to enhance students’ understanding of advertisement texts, slogans, and posters.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effect of implementing the Game-based learning model integrated with Monopoly game media on improving student learning achievement in the Business Economics subject of class X Accounting 3 at SMK Negeri 1 Cepu. The research approach used is quantitative, with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of the learning intervention was evaluated through statistical analysis using a paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS version 24. The test results showed that the calculated t value of 17.209 exceeded the critical t table value of 2.032, with a significance level of less than 0.05. This finding confirms a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ). Thus, the Game-based learning model is proven to be able to significantly improve student learning achievement. Game-based learning fosters a more enjoyable and interactive classroom environment while encouraging collaboration between students. In addition to improving conceptual understanding, this approach also fosters teamwork and communication skills. As a result, this model is recommended as an innovative teaching strategy to create a more active and dynamic classroom atmosphere that effectively supports continuous improvement in learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of students' learning outcomes in economic activity material through the use of Crossword Labs learning media in class X.11 SMAN 3 Pekanbaru. The background of the study is based on the low learning outcomes of students in economics learning which is considered difficult and less interesting. To overcome this, the researcher applied the Cooperative Learning model combined with Crossword Labs media to create an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method of the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which is carried out in two cycles through the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 36 students of class X.11 who were selected through saturated sampling techniques. Data were analyzed quantitatively using a difference test (paired sample t-test) to determine the effectiveness of the learning media. The results showed a significant increase in learning outcomes, with most students experiencing an increase in grades. These findings indicate that Crossword Labs media is effective in improving students' learning outcomes in Economics subjects.

Abstract

The results of observations and interviews conducted with teachers and students that there are still some materials that are difficult to understand and memorize especially on the material of the circulatory system, in the learning process the lecture method still dominates, and still uses textbooks/printed books, LKS, sometimes learning videos as media in the science learning process, so that the science learning process is less active and enjoyable. This study aims to develop a valid and practical flashcard learning media on the sub-material of the circulatory system for class VIII students of SMPN 38 Pekanbaru. This study is a development research (R&D) using the Plomp development model. Data collection instruments used are student and teacher interview sheets, student needs questionnaires, self-evaluation sheets, validation sheets, one-to-one evaluation test questionnaires, small group tests, field tests and validated observers. The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling. The results of the validation of material experts get an average of 88% with a valid category. The results of the validation of media experts get an average of 96% with a very valid category. The results of the validation of learning experts get an average of 100% with a very valid category. The practicality results averaged 88%, categorized as very practical. The conclusion is that the flashcard learning media for the circulatory system is categorized as very valid and very practical.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze difficulties in learning nahwu among students through a literature study. The research method used a qualitative approach with library research that examined various scientific sources related to difficulties in learning nahwu, from journal articles, theses, and other academic literature. Data were analyzed through data reduction, thematic data presentation, and conclusion drawing with source triangulation. The research results showed that difficulties in learning nahwu among students were caused by five main factors: (1) lack of comprehensive understanding of nahwu concepts, (2) difficulties in memorizing and understanding sentence structures, (3) lack of practice in using Arabic language, (4) lack of motivation and interest in learning nahwu, and (5) lack of using self-directed learning approaches. The solutions offered included improving understanding of nahwu concepts through effective teaching, enhancing the ability to memorize sentence structures through intensive practice, increasing Arabic language practice through interactive activities, improving motivation through engaging teaching methods, and enhancing student self-directed learning. The conclusion of this research can contribute to the development of more effective and applicable nahwu learning strategies for students.

Abstract

This research aims to map trends, collaboration, and future research focuses in the field of inclusive education technology. Using a bibliometric approach based on the PRISMA framework, articles published in Scopus (2007–2024) were identified, filtered, and analyzed. Bibliographic and citation data are extracted and then processed with RStudio for publication trend analysis, VOSviewer to visualize collaboration networks and topic clusters, and PoP to calculate citation metrics. The results of the study revealed a substantial increase in the number of publications since 2007, with a peak in productivity in 2021. Five main clusters were identified: assistive technology, intellectual disability, UDL, AR, and global collaboration. Network analysis shows that international collaboration strengthened during the COVID-19 pandemic, signaling the crucial role of online platforms and digital tools in maintaining the sustainability of inclusive learning. The implications of this research include recommendations for developing a technology-integrated UDL framework, post-pandemic innovations in the form of AI-based adaptive learning systems, and expanding cross-disciplinary collaboration to study various fundamental topics in more depth. The study's limitations lie in the single use of the Scopus database; follow-up studies are recommended to involve other sources such as the WoS and ERIC to gain more diverse and comprehensive insights.
