Problem solving abilities can help students to improve their analytical power and help them to apply mathematics to various situations. Students who have good intentions in learning tend to be more diligent and tenacious in understanding and solving mathematical problems, even difficult mathematical problems. This is related to the affective aspect of students, namely self-efficacy. This research uses a qualitative approach and data collection techniques are carried out through filling out self-efficacy questionnaires, problem solving ability tests, and interviews. The results of this research are that students with a high level of self-efficacy have a fairly high level of problem solving ability even though not all indicators have been met, students with low and medium levels of self-efficacy have a low level of problem solving ability with only one or two indicators being met fulfilled.

This research aims to determine the level of effectiveness of a model, namely discovery learning in mathematics learning, on students' mathematical understanding. This research had research subjects consisting of 18 class X SMA Budi Bakti 2 Cianjur students. Carried out using mixed methods, the instruments used were also created to measure quantitative as well as qualitative data. The data analysis used was hypothesis testing with a one-sample t test carried out on students' posttest scores. Apart from the t test, correlation and regression tests were also carried out on students' interest in learning and mathematical understanding. From the research conducted, the use of the discovery learning model is effective for application in mathematics learning in terms of mathematical understanding. The use of the discovery learning model has proven to be effective because students' mathematical understanding can exceed the KKM score. Interest in learning has a correlation with students' mathematical understanding, therefore interest in learning also has a regression towards mathematical understanding with a relatively high level of regression or a dominant influence.

This study sought to ascertain whether students' comprehension of mathematical topics had increased as a result of using Discovery Learning with GeoGebra. This study employed a mixed model with a convergent parallel design. 58 eighth-graders from SMP Negeri 5 Purwakarta served as the subjects. Two groups of students were created: an experimental group and a control group. Pretests, posttests, and student response surveys were used to gather data. The Mann-Whitney test, normality, and N-Gain were used to assess the data. According to the data, both groups improved in the moderate category; nevertheless, the experimental class's average N-Gain (0.51) was higher than the control class's (0.38). The Mann-Whitney test findings showed a significant difference (sig. 0.004 < 0.05). Thus, the GeoGebra-assisted discovery learning model enhances conceptual mathematical knowledge more effectively than conventional learning. Furthermore, learning that encourages active participation in discovering ideas is well-received by students.

This study aims to analyze the difficulties of junior high school students in solving mathematics problems on the Pythagorean Theorem material in terms of numerical ability based on the limitations of specific studies on numerical barriers affecting students' accuracy in applying the Pythagorean concept. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method. The research subjects consisted of 24 ninth-grade students at an Islamic junior high school in East Karawang, selected through purposive sampling based on the subject teacher's recommendations regarding learning barrier characteristics. The instruments used were a numerical ability test, Pythagorean Theorem questions, and interview guidelines. The results showed that the majority of students had low numerical ability and experienced difficulties in various indicators, such as performing calculations, thinking logically, problem solving, and recognizing number patterns. Even students with high numerical ability still had difficulty determining the slant side in Pythagorean problems. These findings indicate the importance of considering numerical ability in the learning process to develop more targeted and personalized learning methods.

However, the current body of research is dominated by linear approaches that possess a limited capacity to uncover how various factors interact in complex ways. This study aims to address this need through a Systematic Literature Review. The methodology followed the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, involving a systematic search of the Scopus and Google Scholar databases, which resulted in 40 core studies for final synthesis. The findings reveal that student-internal psychological and affective variables are the most dominant focus of current research. Methodologically, the field heavily relies on quantitative approaches, particularly Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The most significant finding is a consistent research gap regarding the lack of understanding of the complex, configurational interactions among multiple factors, as most studies employ linear-based analyses. This review concludes that there is an urgent need for research using configurational approaches, such as fs/QCA, to uncover the multiple causal pathways to mathematics achievement. The primary contribution of this study is the presentation of a critical framework that offers a configurational perspective as an alternative to linear models for a more holistic understanding of student success.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the GeoGebra-assisted Problem Solving approach on the mathematical creative thinking ability of MTs students. This study used a mixed methods with a Convergent Parallel design. Quantitative data were obtained through pretest and posttest tests, while qualitative data were obtained through student response questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, each consisting of 25 students. The research instruments included a descriptive test of mathematical creative thinking ability and a student response questionnaire. The t-test results showed a significant difference between the posttest results of the experimental class and the control class with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, which means that the implementation of the GeoGebra-assisted Problem Solving approach had a positive effect on improving students' mathematical creative thinking ability. In addition, the questionnaire results showed a very positive response to the implementation of this approach on the indicators of motivation, understanding, interest, and activeness. Thus, the GeoGebra-assisted Problem Solving approach can encourage students' creativity, activeness, and conceptual understanding in mathematics learning.

This study originated from empirical observations showing that junior high school learners demonstrated limited capacity in resolving mathematical tasks, especially those related to the Pythagorean Theorem, a condition assumed to have a strong association with the degree of students’ mathematical self efficacy. This investigation applied a descriptive qualitative design that emphasized an in depth case study framework. The participants involved six learners from class VIII A at SMP Negeri 1 Tomilito who were intentionally chosen using purposive criteria from an overall population of 23 students. The information required for the study was obtained by administering a self efficacy questionnaire, conducting a mathematical problem resolution assessment, and carrying out structured interviews. The results revealed that learners possessing high self efficacy demonstrated systematic problem resolution and fulfilled all indicators proposed by Polya. Learners with moderate self efficacy showed weaknesses in planning and precision, whereas those with low self efficacy experienced obstacles in comprehending problems and were unable to finalize solutions. Overall, the findings confirm that mathematical self efficacy affects students’ levels of mathematical problem resolution ability.

The 2022 PISA results show that the mathematical literacy performance of Indonesian students remains low. This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy abilities of ninth-grade students through the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) supported by Nearpod in the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). The research subjects consisted of 29 students from MTs Negeri 1 Ogan Ilir. Data were collected through written tests in the form of open-ended questions, as well as interviews. The PBL learning supported by Nearpod was carried out in one meeting prior to the administration of the test. The data were analyzed using triangulation to obtain a comprehensive description of students’ mathematical literacy abilities. The findings indicate that the implementation of PBL supported by Nearpod can enhance students’ mathematical literacy, particularly in the aspect of formulating problems. However, students still encounter difficulties in mathematizing contextual information into mathematical models and performing basic calculations accurately. These findings contribute to efforts to improve the quality of mathematics learning through the integration of problem-based learning and interactive technological tools.

Creativity in problem-solving needs to be strengthened through a systematic thinking framework. This study aims to explore students' creative thinking patterns in solving mathematics problems based on computational thinking (CT). A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving three junior high school students in West Bandung Regency representing high, medium, and low levels of mathematical ability. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and essay test focusing on four elements of CT (decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking) and four indicators of creative thinking (fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration). The results revealed High-ability students demonstrated strong integration between CT and conceptual creativity. Medium-ability students exhibited strategic flexibility, although their symbolic representations were not yet stable. In contrast, low-ability students tended to rely on procedural approaches. This study confirms that CT can function as a systematic thinking framework to foster creativity in 21st-century mathematics learning. It also contributes theoretically to understanding the dynamic relationship between CT and mathematical creative thinking and practically to the design of pattern-based tasks that stimulate student creativity.
