Abstract

This Mathematics is a learning that is very important for everyone, because mathematics is always used in everyday life. But in reality, until now there are still many who think that mathematics is difficult because of the many formulas that must be memorized. Even though the main thing in mathematics is not a formula but a concept in mathematics itself. The purpose of this study is to analyze the students' mistakes in completing the Two Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) material in junior high school students, because this material is one of the material that is often used in daily life. The subjects of this study were students of class IX-B at SMPN 1 Campaka Mulya-Cianjur, amounting to 27 people, who were then sampled as many as 6 people representing high, medium, and low ability students to be analyzed. The method used in this research is a case study. The instrument to get the data itself is done by tests given to students in the form of question sheets containing 3 contextual questions with questions that have different levels of difficulty. Based on the trials that have been carried out it turns out that the mistakes of students in solving SPLDV questions are different. From the results of the test there were 2 students with high abilities, 2 students with medium ability, and 23 students with low ability

Abstract

The purpose of this study was will explain students' mistake when working on math problem on the lesson of flat-sided geometry material at SMP Negeri 8 Cimahi Class VIII, namely 27 people. Used qualitative research with descriptive method. How to collect data, namely test instruments and interview with seven description question. The results of the student's response test for question number five were 29.63%, for question number seven it was 37.04%, and for question number three it was 40.74% still very low. Research conducted by students is difficult when working on these question. Explanation of data and assessment of students made part type of errors, is: (1) students' difficulties in understanding concept; (2) difficulty understanding question or not being careful when understanding question so that students' response are incomplete; (3) difficulty in understanding mathematics theory or the prerequisites of the Pythagorean theorem; (4) lack of accuracy when working on the calculation phase. This proves that class VIII students are very low when working on the problem of building a flat side room.

Abstract

This research goals to fix the activeness and knowing results of students using the STAD type cooperative learning model on the subject matter of algebraic function limits. The points of this research were students of grade XII RPL 2 SMK AL-Ihsan Batujajar with a total of 26 students, consisting of 9 male students and 17 female students. The instrument used in this study was the observation sheet and the test description and interview of the mathematics teacher at the school. The results of student activeness research in the first cycle of 65.38% were in the criteria of being quite active, and the second cycle at 84.61% were in active criteria. And the results of research on student learning outcomes in the first cycle is in the percentage of class completeness by 53.84% and in the second cycle is the percentage of class completeness by 92.30%, it can be seen student learning outcomes from cycle I has intensified in cycle II. Based on the research outcomes, it can be resumed that the use of the STAD type of cooperative upgrading on the subject of algebraic functional limit in class XII RPL 2 SMK AL-Ihsan Batujajar there is an influence of increasing student learning outcomes and activeness.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the Self Directed Learning model through android-based online to improve the ability to recognize number symbols and bilagan in early childhood. In this study using descriptive method with qualitative approach by analyzing selft directed learning seen from the ability to recognize numbers and numbers in children.  The population of this study is 8 children of group A with an age range of 4-5 years in TK Bandung Barat Foundation Cipatat District School Year 2020-2021. The results of this study show that the scenario using the Daily Learning Implementation Plan and implemented with android through online, as for the impact for learners by using the Model Self Directed Learning children develop their abilities from BB (Undeveloped) turned into BSH ( Developing As Expected).

Abstract

Students often find it difficult to work on story problems in mathematics. So that students experience many errors when answering story questions in mathematics. Analyzing students' errors according to the polya theory in completing the story is the aim of this study. Student errors contained in the polya theory, namely: understanding the problem, solving the problem, implementing the problem-solving plan and re-examining the solution obtained. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The technique used is an interactive model data analysis from Miles & Huberman. The subjects in this study included 20 students from class VII junior high school in the neighborhood around the house. The instrument used in this research is a test in the form of problem solving and non-test with interviews. The results of the study showed that many students' mistakes were caused by a lack of understanding of the previous material so that students experienced many mistakes in planning problem solving.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the metacognition attainment of junior high school students when solving math problems on triangular material. The research was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods.  The research subjects consisted of 3 students of class VIII at one of the junior high schools in Bekasi Regency, each of whom had high, medium and low math abilities. Data were collected by means of 1 test question representing all indicators of metacognition ability. Data were analyzed by giving a score on each subject's answer, then the score was converted into a percentage value. The test results were analyzed based on indicators of the ability of metacognition is Awareness, Regulation, and Evaluation. The results showed that students with high mathematical ability (ST) had metacognition attainment of 75%, students with moderate mathematical ability (SS) had metacognition achievement of 25%, and students with low mathematical abilities (SR) had metacognition achievement of 12.5%. Students with moderate math abilities (SS) and students with low math abilities (SR) have not used metacognition abilities to the maximum.

Abstract

The research that has been conducted on students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Sindangbarang aims to analyze errors in working on quadratic function questions. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the data were taken from the answers of 6 high school class X students. Instruments in the form of questions about the material description of quadratic functions as many as 5 items of Bloom's taxonomy questions that have been validated. Data analysis methods in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Errors made by students when working on quadratic function questions based on Kastolan procedures include: (1) conceptual errors of 40%, which are included in the heavy category; (2) procedural errors of 35% in the moderately severe category; and (3) 25% technical error, which is included in the light category.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low ability to understand mathematical concepts of algebra students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to understand the concepts of seventh grade students at MTs An naiim Bandung in learning mathematics in algebraic forms. The method used is descriptive qualitative research, data collection techniques used in this study are through tests, interviews and documentation. The analytical technique used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis technique. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion of research, namely the category based on the ability to understand mathematical concepts very high gets a percentage of 4.17%, the high category gets a presentation of 8.33%, the middle category gets a percentage of 25%, the low category gets a percentage of 30.83%, the very low category gets a percentage. the percentage is 33.3%. So it can be concluded from the results of the students' ability to understand mathematical concepts that students' abilities are still very low in algebraic form material.

Abstract

The use of new educational approaches and technologies can be beneficial in integrating 21st century skills and core competencies in education. STEM provides students with an effective learning environment to improve math skills and other 21st century skills. This research aims to explore and synthesize the best stem applications in math learning and its impact on 21st century mathematical competence. There are several studies related to the integration of STEM in mathematics learning to improve 21st century mathematical competence, which includes critical thinking and problem solving, creativity, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively. The search for relevant data base was conducted in a study published from 2017 to 2021 that examined STEM and 21st century math competencies in formal education. The search strategy was carried out systematically by reviewing articles in the field of Education that had been published in the ERIC, Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases. Based on the results of systematic reviews of the literature generated that integrating STEM in mathematical learning must pay attention to the content of the lesson, the methods used in learning must be problem-based and project-based, and learning must be cooperative. In addition, STEM integration in math learning tends to improve 21st century mathematical competence especially in critical thinking and problem solving skills
