Abstract

This study aims to critically analyze the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) with a focus on the integration of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), identify challenges and opportunities for its implementation, and provide recommendations for PAI integration strategies that are contextual, creative, and in line with the spirit of independent learning. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing literature from scientific journals, books, research reports, and policy documents. The results of the study indicate that the Independent Curriculum opens up space for PAI integration through thematic, project-based, and fun learning, which supports the formation of Islamic character as well as 21st-century competencies. Challenges faced include limited teacher competency, infrastructure readiness, and suboptimal policy support, while opportunities lie in curriculum flexibility, a holistic approach, and parental involvement. This study recommends project-based, creative, contextual PAI integration strategies, as well as strengthening teacher training and collaboration with parents to support successful implementation. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for teachers, schools, and policymakers in optimizing PAI integration in PAUD in an adaptive and meaningful manner.

Abstract

This study discusses the concept of nafs al-muṭma’innah in the Qur'an and its relationship with the psychology of mindfulness, which is rapidly developing in the modern world. This study aims to explore how the Qur'an explains peace of mind not merely as a stable emotional state, but as a spiritual awareness centered on Allah. Using a descriptive qualitative method based on thematic analysis of Qur'anic verses, this paper explores the process of achieving peace of mind through four main paths: tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the self), dzikrullah (remembrance of Allah), prayer (inner communication with God), and tawakkal (total surrender). This study shows that nafs al-muṭma'innah is the highest form of spiritual health that also has a direct impact on human psychological and social balance. From a contemporary psychological perspective, this state is similar to mindfulness, which is full awareness of the present reality, but differs in orientation: while mindfulness is self-centered awareness, nafs al-muṭma’innah is God-centered awareness. Through a dialogue between the Qur'an and modern psychology, this paper seeks to reaffirm the importance of spiritual values in the healing of the soul and the search for meaning in the lives of people today.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of book-reading habits on the academic achievement of students at SMA Dharmawangsa Medan. In an increasingly evolving information era, reading books has become a crucial activity for enhancing students' knowledge and skills. The research utilized a survey method involving 150 students across various grade levels. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring reading frequency, types of books read, and academic grades obtained from school reports. Data analysis was performed using statistical techniques to identify the correlation between reading habits and learning outcomes. The results indicate that students with a high frequency of reading books achieve better academic performance compared to those who read infrequently. A significant positive correlation was found between reading frequency and academic grades, with students reading more than five books per month tending to have higher average scores. These findings suggest that consistent reading habits contribute positively to student academic growth. Consequently, it is recommended that both schools and parents actively encourage students to cultivate a reading habit to support their academic development.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the philosophical foundations, environmental management practices, and the process of internalizing ecological values at the Nurul Islam Islamic Boarding School (Nuris) Jember in building an ecological model of pesantren based on fiqh al-bi'ah, ecosophism, and local wisdom. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data was collected through observations, in-depth interviews with kiai, ustadz, pesantren administrators, and senior students, as well as documentation of pesantren environmental activities and policies. Data analysis uses an interactive analysis model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of this study reveal three main findings. First, the philosophical foundation of the ecological movement at the Nuris Islamic Boarding School is rooted in the value of ecological monotheism, the mandate of the caliphate, and the prohibition of isrāf which is internalized through the teaching of the book, example, and habituation. Second, environmental management practices run through waste sorting, eco-enzyme programs, simple waste treatment, and student innovation through scientific activities. Third, the internalization of ecological awareness is formed through the local wisdom of pesantren in the form of communal discipline, a common living system, hygiene rules, and a culture of mutual cooperation that strengthens the ecological behavior of students. These findings show that the ecological model of pesantren can be built through the integration of Islamic values, ecosophism, and local culture in pesantren education

Abstract

The First Islamic Progress Period (650-1000 CE) was a period of Islamic progress, encompassing three periods of leadership: the Caliphate of the Rashidun Caliphate, which laid the foundation for the Islamic government system, followed by the Umayyad Caliphate, which expanded the Islamic realm. The Islamic Progress Period during the Umayyad Era was characterized by strong political stability, significant economic expansion, rapid scientific and cultural development, effective military strategy, and dynamic foreign diplomacy. All of these factors combined to help Islam become a major power in the Middle East and North Africa from the 8th to 10th centuries CE.The Caliphate of the Abbasids is known as the peak of Islamic intellectual and cultural progress. The research method used in this paper is a literature review, employing qualitative methods to obtain descriptive information from relevant sources. The First Islamic Progress Period, which lasted from 650 to 1000 CE, was a crucial period in the history of Islamic civilization. The progress of Islam during this period was evident not only in political and military aspects, but also in scientific and cultural developments. Islamic civilization succeeded in creating a rich intellectual tradition that not only influenced the Muslim world but also contributed significantly to the development of global civilization as a whole.
