Abstract

Background. There are very few studies on the factors and causes of hospital readmission in high-risk stroke patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the common causes and patterns of short and long term hospitalization of stroke patients through a systematic review using hospital administration data. General risk factors associated with changes in readmission rates were also examined. Methods. A literature search was conducted from 15 February to 15 March 2016 using various databases, such as Medline, Embase, and Web of Science. Results. 24 studies (????=2,126,617) were included in this study. Only 4 studies assessed cause of re-hospitalization in stroke patients with a follow-up duration of 30 days to 5 years. The common causes of re-hospitalization in most of the studies were recurrent strokes, infections, and heart conditions. Common patient-related risk factors associated with increased readmission rates are age and history of coronary heart disease, heart failure, kidney disease, respiratory disease, peripheral arterial disease, and diabetes. Among the factors associated with stroke, stroke index length of stay was associated with increased hospitalization rates, followed by bowel incontinence, tube feeding, and urinary catheters. Conclusion. Although risk factors and common causes of readmission were identified, no previous studies have investigated the causes and sequence of readmission among high-impact stroke survivors.

Abstract

Background: Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy when the gestational age is less than 22 weeks or the fruit of a pregnancy that cannot live outside the womb with a fetus weighing less than 500 grams. Abortion is a fetus that is released weighing less than 500 grams or has a gestational age of less than 20 weeks at the time of discharge from the uterus so that it has no hope of survival (Riski Nur Marcelina, 2021). Method: This study used a retrospective approach. The population in this study were all pregnant women who had a gestational age of less than 20 weeks at H. Abdul Manap Hospital, Jambi City in 2021-2022, totaling 229 people. Out of 229 people, there were 70 samples of pregnant women using the slovin formula taken randomly. by using the draw lottery system. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling Result: The results of the research that has been done show that the results of data analysis using the Chi Square statistical test show that factors related to abortion are maternal age p-value = 0.039 (≤0.05), Pregnancy Distance p-value = 0.023 (≤0.050), and Anemia p-value = 0.044 (≤ 0.05) Conclusion : The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between age, pregnancy spacing and anemia with abortion in pregnant women at the H.Abdul Manap Hospital, Jambi City in 2023. It is suggested that it can be a valuable experience and increase insight and knowledge, especially related to abortion.

Abstract

Background: Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) is a hydrolase enzyme that is first produced by the liver epithelium and osteoblasts (cells that form new bone), this enzyme is mostly found in the liver and bones. ALP enzyme examination can be affected if there is damage to the cells, causing haemolysis. Haemolysis can be affected by phlebotomy techniques at an inappropriate pre-analytical stage, so that haemolysis can cause increased concentrations in red blood cells compared to serum or plasma, thus giving false concentration results. This study aims to determine the differences in ALP enzyme levels in mild haemolysed serum and non-haemolysed serum. Methods: The study population included all 17 male students of DIV Medical Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Science and Technology Muhammadiyah Palembang, by differentiating inclusion, namely aged 17 to 22 years, male sex and willing to be respondents. Samples in the form of mild hemolysis and non-hemolysis serum were taken from the respondents. The stages of the research began with taking venous blood samples, processing the blood into non-hemolytic serum and mild hemolytic serum, and ALP examination using the Biosystem BA 200 tool. Results: This study showed that the difference between ALP enzyme levels in non-haemolytic and haemolytic samples was 73.9 U/L or 55%. The data analysis test used the Paired T test which obtained p ≥ 0,000. Conclusion: There are differences in results between mild haemolysed serum and non-haemolysed serum.

Abstract

Background: Sedentary behavior has a risk of causing low back pain and results in decreased functional ability. William flexion exercise (WFE) is an exercise to improve lumbar stability by strengthening the abdominal muscles and stretching the back muscles. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the addition of william flexion exercise on functional abilities in patients with myogenic low back pain at Banyumas General Hospital. Methods: This type of research was one group pre test & post test with control design, subjects were randomly selected into the treatment group and the control group. The subjects were 31 patients at the Banyumas General Hospital who included the inclusion criteria. Result: The paired t-test and independent t-test which were carried out in both groups after receiving the intervention obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05) which means that there was an increase in functional ability and there was a significant difference in the two groups. Difference in mean pre-post test treatment group 7.5 and control 2.4. Conclusion: The addition of william flexion exercise has an effect on increasing functional ability in patients with myogenic low back pain.

Abstract

Background: Work fatigue is a condition that is different for each individual, but all of these individuals experience loss of efficiency, decreased work capacity, and endurance. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors related to work fatigue in production workers at PT. X. Methods: This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach with a total sampling technique for production workers at PT. X totaled 40 respondents. Data collection was obtained from primary data in the form of an IFRC Result: The results of statistical tests using Spearman's rank show that the factors of age, length of work, and workload have a relationship with work fatigue, while there is no relationship with work fatigue on length of service. At the level of work fatigue, the majority of workers experience moderate work fatigue. Conclusion: So it is advisable for companies to provide work according to individual capacity based on the age of the worker, overtime hours do not exceed the specified regulations, then provide a workload that is in accordance with the capacity of the worker by not giving multiple jobs.

Abstract

Background: Bengkal leaves (Nauclea orientalis L.) is a plant that contains flavonoids that act as active substances in reducing blood glucose levels (antidiabetic). The effectiveness of Bengkal leaf decoction (Nauclea orientalis L.) used by the public is still not known as an antidiabetic agent. This research was conducted to test the effectiveness of using Bengkal leaf infusion (Nauclea orientalis L.), used by the community as an antidiabetic test using male white mice that had been induced with alloxan previously. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental study with a static-group comparison design. The experimental animals used were thirty male white mice divided into six groups, namely the negative control group (Tragakan), the positive control group (alloxan), the comparison group (glibenclamide), the Bengkal leaf infusion group with percentages of 10, 20, and 30 Next, testing was carried out by measuring blood sugar levels in mice starting from day 7, 14 to 21. Then one way ANOVA statistical test was carried out to obtain significant results on which day was the most effective. Then Duncan's post hoc test was to determine the best concentration with an effect close to 5 mg of glibenclamide so that it would be known whether Bengkal leaf infusion (Nauclea orientalis L.) is effective as an antidiabetic. Later, in the end, find out whether the community can use Bengkal leaf infusion as an antidiabetic drug. Results: After statistical tests, it was proven that Bengkal leaf infusion with a percentage of 10, 20, and 30 effectively reduced blood sugar levels in mice with a significance of p = 0.000. The best levels affecting the comparison on day 21 are 20 and 30 percent infusions. Conclusion: There is effectiveness in using Bengkal infuse leaf infusion (Nauclea orientalis L.) as an antidiabetic so that the community is an antidiabetic drug.
