Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of educational films as a learning medium in deepening students' understanding of Islamic Cultural History and improving their critical thinking. This research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Data was collected through observations and interviews. Constructivism theory is used as a theoretical foundation to understand how educational films can help students relate new knowledge to their everyday experiences. The results of the study show that the use of educational films significantly increases students' interest in learning, critical thinking and involvement in the learning process. Students showed an increased understanding of PAI's history and stated that the film made the material more engaging and easier to understand. The recommendation of this study is that the PAI curriculum in elementary schools should make more use of educational film media as a learning aid. In addition, educators need to be trained in the use of new technologies and media to create a more engaging and interactive learning environment. Thus, the use of educational films can be an innovative strategy in improving the quality of PAI history learning, and facilitating a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the material taught.

Abstract

Early childhood is considered a golden age where children possess exceptional potential and talents if optimally stimulated. However, current educational practices often fall short in achieving educational goals, particularly in character building. Issues such as bullying in schools indicate that children may develop poor behaviors due to unoptimized environmental roles. Recognizing the importance of instilling character education in children, a conducive environment significantly impacts their character formation. This study aims to understand the role of the school environment in shaping the character of Group B children at RA Dwi Savitri Surabaya. The study focuses on five character traits as per the Ministry of Education and Culture's guidelines: Rationality, Nationalism, Independence, Cooperation, and Integrity. Respondents include teachers and children at RA Dwi Savitri. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study design, data were analyzed through interviews and observations. Findings show that character development at RA Dwi Savitri is consistently practiced daily. Religious character is fostered through routines like reciting short surahs, Asmaul Husna, performing Dhuha prayers, and daily prayers from 08:00 to 09:00. Nationalism is developed by reciting the Pancasila, singing the national anthem, and engaging in Independence Day activities. Independence is encouraged through self-feeding and independent learning. Cooperation is taught through group activities, sharing, and community events. Integrity is instilled through an honesty canteen, saving pocket money, completing school tasks, and punctuality.

Abstract

Indonesia's education system is facing numerous challenges due to the rapid development of information and communication technology, resulting in students being perceived as less empathetic and less skilled in addressing social issues. The Pancasila Student Profile is a policy by the Ministry of Education and Culture within the Merdeka Curriculum to strengthen national character. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Civics subjects, the attitude assessment models, and the supporting and inhibiting factors. The research employs a qualitative approach, with the subjects including the principal, curriculum vice-secretary, Civics teachers, and students. Data collection is conducted through source and technique triangulation, while data analysis involves data reduction, data display, and data verification. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Civics Curriculum has altered the concepts and meanings outlined in the teaching module; learning and assessment are now an integrated unit; the material's scope is more comprehensive according to the learning outcomes of four key elements (Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, Unity in Diversity, and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia) in phase D. The assessment model in the Merdeka Curriculum encompasses cognitive (formative, summative) and psychomotor (projects, practice, products) assessments as a unified whole. Attitude assessment is based on the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) strengthening program, with the selection of dimensions tailored to the objectives, subject matter, and the P5 theme set by the school. Daily assessments are the basis for the Pancasila Learner Profile-based attitude report card. Supporting factors include the synergy of the school community in implementing P5, while obstacles include some teachers' lack of understanding of the indicators in the six elements and sub-elements of the Pancasila Learner Profile, with assessments still being manual and done in Excel.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to examine the implementation of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create) learning model in enhancing students' critical thinking skills in social studies. A descriptive analysis was conducted to compare the pretest and posttest results between the experimental and control groups, focusing on students' critical thinking abilities. The data presented in Table 1 show that in the experimental group, the pretest score was 50.87 and the posttest score was 87.13, resulting in a difference of 36.26. In the control group, the pretest score was 50.20 and the posttest score was 85.73, yielding a difference of 35.53. These results indicate a significant improvement in the average critical thinking skills of students in both groups, with a slightly higher increase observed in the experimental group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the RADEC model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in social studies.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance students' learning motivation through a self-efficacy approach. The study is conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which comprises four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. In this model, Kemmis and McTaggart integrate action and observation as a single unit, where observational outcomes serve as a basis for subsequent reflection. Reflections lead to modifications, actualized through further actions and observations in a continuous cycle. This research utilizes both primary and secondary data sources, with secondary data including school documents and archives. Results from the action evaluation in Cycle II indicate that 10 students (30.3%) demonstrated very high self-efficacy, while 24 students (69.7%) exhibited high self-efficacy, and no students were in the very low category. The average self-efficacy score rose from 92.29 in Cycle I to 94.91 in Cycle II, indicating a 2.62-point increase. These findings demonstrate a significant improvement in students' self-efficacy scores, reflecting enhanced learning motivation through this approach.

Abstract

The research in this thesis descriptively explains the management of moral development at Dayah Nurul Islam in Southeast Aceh. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Based on the research findings, it was found that Dayah Nurul Islam in Aceh was established in 1960 by Tengku Abuya Ja’far Sidik bin H. Hasan bin H. Abbas. In its subsequent development, the dayah has expanded in several aspects, including institutional development, curriculum, and facilities. The existence of Dayah Nurul Islam and its role in society is to foster the Muslim community. Therefore, the role of Dayah Nurul Islam in society is as a religious educational institution, a preaching institution, and a social institution. To realize these roles, the management of moral development for students is implemented by integrating modern management systems, including planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of moral development for students at Dayah Nurul Islam. The education and teaching system at Dayah Nurul Islam Southeast Aceh follows the modern pesantren system. This is evident from the planning of work programs for each section, the creation of an annual education and teaching calendar according to the work programs that have been prepared, the determination of consultation, coordination, and instruction methods for each section, and the determination of the form, method, and time of reporting for each section. The planning is carried out under the Deputy Director of the Dayah in collaboration with the heads of SMP and MA Nurul Islam Southeast Aceh.
