Abstract

This study investigates the impact of data-driven decision making and marketing automation using artificial intelligence on return on investment, with customer engagement examined as a mediating variable. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through an online survey targeting professionals in digital marketing and e-commerce sectors. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling, which validated both the measurement and structural models. The results reveal that data-driven decision making and marketing automation using artificial intelligence significantly influence customer engagement, which in turn has a strong and positive effect on return on investment. Furthermore, customer engagement mediates the relationship between both predictor variables and return on investment, suggesting that the financial benefits of digital strategies are maximized when they successfully foster active and meaningful customer interactions. These findings highlight the importance of integrating analytical tools and technological innovations with customer-centric engagement strategies to achieve sustainable marketing performance in digital environments.

Abstract

The rapid rise of influencer marketing has reshaped the landscape of consumer engagement, particularly in the social media age where trust and authenticity play critical roles in shaping purchasing behavior. This study explores how consumers perceive and respond to trust and authenticity in influencer content and how these perceptions influence decision-making processes. Utilizing a qualitative research design, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with twenty active social media users to gain insights into their emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses to influencer marketing. Thematic analysis revealed that trust is primarily built through perceived expertise, consistency, and ethical transparency, while authenticity is constructed through personal storytelling, value alignment, and selective brand endorsement. The findings also highlight the significant influence of emotional engagement and parasocial interaction in fostering consumer loyalty. Despite these positive dynamics, challenges such as commercial pressures, algorithmic content distortion, and audience skepticism threaten the sustainability of influencer credibility. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on digital consumer behavior and offers practical implications for brands and influencers striving to maintain authentic connections in an increasingly competitive digital environment.

Abstract

This study conducts a systematic literature review to explore the integration of artificial intelligence into financial decision-making, particularly in the context of investment strategies. Drawing from 52 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2018 and 2024, the review identifies key application areas of AI in finance, including portfolio optimization, risk management, algorithmic trading, robo-advisory services, and sentiment analysis. The findings highlight the strategic benefits of AI, such as enhanced decision accuracy, operational efficiency, and increased financial inclusivity. However, the study also underscores significant challenges, including lack of model explainability, algorithmic bias, data privacy concerns, and regulatory uncertainty. These dual dimensions emphasize the need for ethical governance, transparent model design, and interdisciplinary collaboration to maximize the benefits of AI in investment contexts. The study concludes by outlining future research directions, particularly the integration of ESG factors, adaptation to emerging markets, and long-term impact assessments of AI-driven strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of inflation rate and interest rate volatility on corporate capital structure decisions, emphasizing the mediating role of corporate profitability. Using a quantitative approach and structural equation modeling via SmartPLS, data from publicly listed firms in emerging markets were analyzed to examine the relationships between IR, CP, debt ratio, and equity ratio. The results reveal that IR significantly affects CP, which in turn influences both DR and ER. Direct effects show that IR positively correlates with DR and negatively with ER. Furthermore, CP mediates the relationship between IR and both components of capital structure, indicating that firms with higher profitability are better positioned to respond to macroeconomic shocks by optimizing their financing mix. These findings contribute to a more nuanced understanding of capital structure behavior, highlighting the interplay between external economic conditions and internal financial performance in shaping strategic financing decisions.

Abstract

Regional airports increasingly face operational challenges as they accommodate both commercial aviation and pilot training activities within limited infrastructure and airspace. Banyuwangi Airport in East Java, Indonesia, represents a dual-use facility that has adopted a time-based slot allocation system to manage growing traffic from airlines and aviation academies. This study analyzes the structure and effectiveness of the airport’s slot time policy using a qualitative-descriptive approach based entirely on secondary data, including policy documents, operational manuals, and scholarly literature. The findings show that while the policy provides functional time segmentation-allocating daytime hours for commercial operations and nighttime for training-it lacks formal regulatory support and is executed through manual, informal coordination. These limitations are compounded by infrastructural constraints such as a single runway, limited apron capacity, and the absence of digital scheduling tools. Additionally, relegating flight training to nighttime hours compromises the quality of visual flight instruction. The study concludes that although the existing policy reduces immediate operational conflict, it is not sustainable in its current form. Strengthening the policy through regulatory formalization, infrastructure enhancement, and digital slot coordination platforms is essential for ensuring both operational efficiency and the long-term viability of Indonesia’s aviation training sector.

Abstract

Safety culture in aviation training is fundamentally shaped by the interpersonal and instructional behaviors of flight instructors. Instructors not only deliver technical content but also model risk awareness, communication norms, and emotional discipline that shape how student pilots internalize safety values. This literature-based analysis focuses on flight training practices at API Banyuwangi and identifies three core mechanisms that drive safety culture development: instructor competence, leadership style, and institutional reinforcement. Competent instructors who demonstrate reflective pedagogy and consistent behavioral modeling are shown to foster higher levels of psychological safety and long-term risk accountability among trainees. Moreover, institutions that integrate safety objectives across curricula, performance evaluations, and infrastructure further amplify these effects. The synthesis highlights that effective safety education emerges from the convergence of individual instructional capacity and organizational alignment. Embedding safety as a shared ethos rather than a procedural obligation requires intentional design at both the pedagogical and institutional levels.
