Abstract

Tourism is an important aspect of economic activity, especially in Indonesia which has superior natural resource potential. However, there is a gap between tourism potential and the quality of human resources in driving the tourism economy, resulting in low tourism competitiveness compared to other countries. This research aims to find the best formula for building a model for improving organizational performance and competitiveness in the hotel industry through a strategic human resource management approach. How much organizational performance is achieved depends on the performance of its people, regardless of the shape, size, goals and characteristics of the organization. In the context of research, some research results also still contain disagreements regarding the understanding of Human Capital Management, which is generally widely understood as performance measurement, as well as the Adaptive E-Procurement system. This research uses quantitative methods with partial least squares (PLS) analysis tools. In this case, the researchers took samples based on the total population of 19 five-star hotels and 94 4-star hotels, according to the Slovin formula, namely 88 samples. The results showed that HCACS-X2 had a significant positive effect on OPC-Y. The HCACS-X2 variable against OPC-Y has an original sample of 0.382 in a positive direction, meaning that the better the HCACS-X2, the OPC-Y will also increase by 0.382. HCACS-X2 has a significant positive effect on OPC-Y through AE-PS-X3. The HCACS-X2 variable against OPC-Y via EPSA has an original sample of 0.352 in a positive direction, meaning that the better the HCACS-X2 via AE-PS-X3, the OPC-Y will also increase by 0.352.

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between the indigenous religion of the Mentawai people, Arat Sabulungan, world religions (Christianity, Catholicism, and Islam), and the state, focusing on intersubjective recognition among these entities. The research employs a qualitative ethnographic approach, conducted in Matotonan village, South Siberut subdistrict, West Sumatra. Primary data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with key informants and observations, while secondary data included literature reviews of relevant journal articles, books, research reports, and news. The findings reveal the complexity and nuances of religious conversion, the socio-cultural dynamics influencing the negotiation process of Arat Sabulungan and world religions, and the role of state policy in shaping the religious landscape and identity of the Mentawai people. This article demonstrates that the socio-cultural life of the Mentawai people, especially in Matotonan village, shows that recognition of Arat Sabulungan extends beyond intercultural relations into the anthropological realm. Followers of Arat Sabulungan (Sikerei), world religions, and government employees have constructed themselves as subjects through intersubjective recognition. This research contributes to understanding the complex dynamics between indigenous religions, world religions, and state policies. It applies Axel Honneth's theory of intersubjective recognition, highlighting the need for inclusive policies, cultural education, and legal recognition to support and preserve indigenous religions like Arat Sabulungan.

Abstract

On a national level, Palembang is positioned to support various spatial and developmental needs of Jakarta, the capital city. Hosting the Asian Games 2018 was one such initiative, which necessitated accelerated transportation infrastructure development in Palembang. This required innovative approaches to policy coordination in infrastructure development. This study aims to examine the mechanisms and challenges of policy coordination in transportation infrastructure development. The research highlights that coordination efforts have faced delays due to institutional constraints, as agencies and institutions are tied to their own regulations, budgets, and programs while striving to meet their individual targets. Adopting a post-positivist approach, this study employs qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews with stakeholders, and applies qualitative data analysis techniques. The findings reveal that coordination challenges have been mitigated to some extent through the national strategic development project framework, with the entire coordination process being directed by a top-down approach led by the Committee for the Acceleration of Infrastructure Provision (KKPPI).

Abstract

Forest fires are a problem that often hit Riau Province. Therefore, there is a need for mitigation efforts to deal with this forest fire disaster. One of the steps that can be taken is by implementing peat ecosystems. This research then aims to see how the implementation of peat ecosystems can mitigate forest fires, especially in Riau Province. This research will be conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data used in this research comes from various previous research results that are still relevant to this research. The results of this study found that in implementing peat ecosystems, there are still challenges that need to be faced, such as climate change and land use. To overcome this, various opportunities such as technological developments and stakeholder collaboration can be implemented. In mitigating forest fires, conservation and restoration of peat ecosystems are important steps to strengthen the resilience of the ecosystem.

The selection of West Java as a research location was based on the significant increase in the use of digital wallets in this area, which is affecting various aspects of daily life. The total sample was 300 respondents using the cluster sampling technique. The analytical method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The research results show that digital wallets influence mental accounting, and mental accounting influences financial behavior. Apart from that, the implications of the research results show that digital wallet users must take advantage of existing features to improve financial management, achieve financial goals, and reduce stress. Furthermore, service providers need to continue to innovate with features such as detailed financial reports, budget reminders, and spending analysis, as well as educate users so they can use these features optimally to increase satisfaction and loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of disaster education and social media usage on disaster preparedness in coastal communities, focusing on Masawah Village in the Cimerak District, Pangandaran Regency. The research was conducted using a quantitative survey method with data collected from a sample of 100 respondents selected through probability sampling with a cluster sampling approach. Data were analysed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings reveal that both disaster education and social media usage significantly influence individual intentions and actual disaster preparedness. Additionally, the mediating role of intention is identified, highlighting its importance in linking disaster education and social media usage to preparedness. These results suggest that disaster education should incorporate practical training and community participation, while social media campaigns should leverage popular platforms like WhatsApp and TikTok to engage wider audiences effectively. This study contributes to the literature by integrating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to explore the mediating effects of intention in disaster preparedness. It offers practical implications for policymakers and disaster management organisations to enhance community readiness. The originality of this research lies in its focus on a coastal community and its use of TPB as a theoretical framework, addressing gaps in previous studies that have not thoroughly investigated the role of social media in disaster preparedness.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of sustainable logistics practices—green transportation, waste management, energy efficiency, and sustainable packaging—on sustainability performance in the manufacturing sectors of Ghana and Indonesia, with a focus on the moderating role of Internet of Things (IoT) development. The research highlights the importance of both internal resources and external factors in achieving sustainability goals. Using a quantitative approach and a descriptive survey design, data were collected from 374 manufacturing firms in Ghana and 379 in Indonesia. The study employed a structured questionnaire and applied Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression to analyze the relationship between sustainable logistics practices, IoT growth, and sustainability performance. Sustainable logistics practices positively influence sustainability performance, with IoT moderating this relationship. Firms in Indonesia demonstrated higher performance due to advanced IoT infrastructure, while Ghana showed limitations due to less developed technological infrastructure. The findings emphasize the need for investment in IoT infrastructure to enhance the effectiveness of sustainable logistics practices, particularly in developing countries. The study contributes new insights into the moderating role of IoT in sustainability and offers practical guidance for policymakers and businesses. This study provides a novel cross-country perspective on how IoT development influences the effectiveness of sustainable logistics practices in emerging economies, bridging gaps in the existing literature on technology-driven sustainability strategies.
