Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the development of the waste cooking oil utilization program in Sambiarum Village. This study used a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The analytical method used is Historical Tracing Analysis, Economic Value Analysis and SWOT Analysis. Based on the research results, it is known that at the beginning of 2009 to 2022 waste used cooking oil is only deposited into the main waste bank to be converted into money. The total generation of waste cooking for all customers reached 845 kg/month while for all villagers it reached 3532 kg/month. The total economic value of used waste in the Pin-Pin waste bank is IDR 2,535,000/month, while in Sambiarum village it is IDR 10,596,000/month. For the calculation of product added value for aromatherapy candles, it is Rp. 1,073,000 with a profitability of 71.5%. The strategy that has been determined is to maximize waste banks as education and training centers for used waste by involving the role of sub-districts to reach out to village communities so they do not dispose of used waste which can pollute the environment.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to review community initiatives in dealing with climate change in oil palm plantation areas. We use descriptive qualitative methods as well as apply the participatory Action Research (PAR) method to encourage community action. The results showed that oil palm plantations had a positive impact in the form of improving the community's economy and negative impacts, namely a clean water crisis and erratic hot and rainy weather. Therefore, to anticipate the worsening impact of the existence of oil palm plantations, the community has an initiative by planting medicinal plants, food plants, flowers, carrying out environmental conservation campaigns, making environmentally friendly fertilizers, making biopores, biogas, making gazebos, green houses, giving seeds plants and provision of fish seeds. All these initiatives were strengthened by the support of various parties from the regional government and the Pertamina Hulu Energi Kampar company in the form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program support. Abstract

Abstract: This empowerment program aims to increase productivity and open business opportunities for the Women Farmers Group (KWT) through training in processing catfish floss in Padukuhan Soromintan. KWT problems, such as the lack of processed agricultural products and difficulties in marketing their harvests, have caused the low productivity of the KWT Mugi Lancar to be the reason for the intense business productivity. Based on this, this empowerment conceptualizes the program as a follow-up to solving the problems faced by KWT Mugi Lancar through training in processing catfish floss. The implementation method has five stages: problem identification, conceptualization, success indicators, validation, and application. The results of the implementation of community empowerment show that the catfish floss processing training is divided into two types of exercise, namely theory and practice, which includes training on catfish floss processing, packaging, and legality submissions to marketing. The result shows a level of understanding of the catfish-shredded training participants. This is expected to increase the motivation of KWT Mugi Lancar to carry out business productivity through processing catfish floss.
