Abstract

The tradition of tilik, a form of social visit among community members, is a local cultural heritage still preserved by the people of Solokuro District, Lamongan. This tradition plays a vital role in strengthening social bonds and upholding communal values. However, with the rapid pace of modernization bringing about social and technological changes, the tilik tradition faces the challenge of sustainability. This research aims to understand how the tilik tradition adapts in the context of modernization and to identify the factors influencing the changes or continuity of this tradition. Using a phenomenological approach, this study explores the experiences and perspectives of local people regarding the meaning and relevance of the tilik tradition in their daily lives. The results show that although modernization has changed some social aspects, the tilik tradition remains a vital form of social interaction, albeit with adjustments in its implementation. This research is expected to provide deeper insights into the importance of maintaining a balance between preserving local culture and the need for adaptation in the modern era.

Abstract

Tolerance is a prerequisite for building interfaith communication to create peace in Indonesia. This is because Indonesia is a plural country. The idea of tolerance is found in the interpretation of the Qur'an, including in the interpretation of al-Ibriz by KH. Bisri Mustafa. This research explores the context of local wisdom in the interpretation of tolerance verses in tafsir al-Ibriz. This research is a qualitative research with textual analysis of the tafsir. The focus of this research is on the interpretation of tolerance verses in tafsir al-Ibriz, especially on five things: believer-unbeliever interaction, no compulsion in religion, living together with people of different religions, the existence of the people of the book, and Islam as a mercy to the universe. The results of this study found that the context of local wisdom contained in tafsir al-Ibriz is found in the interpretation and analysis written in Javanese. Tafsir al-Ibriz is addressed to Muslims in general, especially Muslims in Indonesia, especially in Java. In the context of pluralism, the writing of this interpretation is also intended to ground the Qur'an to a plural society.

Abstract

This research investigates the renowned adage Bhuppa'-Bhâbhu'-Ghuru-Rato in Madura through the lens of Hasan Hanafi's social theology. This study is based on library research. Hasan Hanafi's social theology is employed as a formal object with the goal of reconstructing theology as a social basis rather than an empty religious dogma, so that faith might have a practical purpose as a foundation for human ethics and motivation. Hasan Hanafi's social theology, which is pertinent to Islam in Madura as well as the worldwide spirit of Islam Nusantara, which depicts Islam as rahmah li al-'alamin, is accurate. Islamic concepts that apply broadly in society. Madura culture must first obey their parents, followed by the teachers, eventually the leaders. This indicates that in Madura's socio-cultural life, there are reference standards for the principal figures in a hierarchy that should be followed.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of local wisdom into Islamic higher education as a means to enhance Islamic values and foster harmony and tolerance in diverse academic environments. The research is conducted at several universities in Indonesia, where Islamic studies programs actively incorporate local traditions and cultural practices into the curriculum. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative interviews with educators and students, as well as content analysis of the curriculum, the study aims to understand the impact of this integration on students’ moral development and intercultural awareness. Results indicate that the inclusion of local wisdom within the Islamic educational framework enhances students’ understanding of core Islamic values such as peace, mutual respect, and social responsibility. Furthermore, the findings reveal that these practices help to bridge cultural gaps between students from different backgrounds, promoting a more harmonious and tolerant academic environment. The conclusion suggests that Islamic higher education institutions should continue to leverage local cultural resources to enrich Islamic education and contribute to societal cohesion.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural country, proven by the abundance of local wisdom possessed by the Indonesian people. Each tribe and even region has its own variety of languages. Let's just say the Javanese language used every day by the Javanese people. With the assets of languange differences, we can create a bond of harmonization between communities. This is in accordance with the interpretation of the Qur'an in surah al-Hujurat verse 13 that Allah made humans into nations and tribes to know and help each other. There is no difference in degree between one and another. It is on this basis that the Indonesian people must be able to live among existing differences without losing their cultural identity and providing security for the lives of other people's cultures. This research uses qualitative library research and uses an analytical approach to interpreting the Qur’an (tahlili) by collecting related data such as interpretation of the Qur’an and cultural studies. The aim of this research is to invite readers to apply the universal values contained in these holy verses in order to form an inclusive and harmonious society in the global era where diversity is the reality of the times.

Digital economic literacy, particularly in areas like e-commerce, social media marketing, and digital payment systems, enables entrepreneurs to expand their market reach, improve operational efficiency, and compete more effectively. However, challenges in technology access and digital literacy remain. The study concludes that digital literacy, combined with local wisdom, offers substantial opportunities to enhance competitiveness, but requires ongoing support in training and infrastructure development for optimal outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to find an ethnoscience-based curriculum management model for sustainable cultural inheritance. This research is included in the descriptive research category with a qualitative approach. Data collection methods were carried out by means of Focus Group Discussions, in-depth interviews and also documentation. The research results show that ethnoscience-based curriculum management is structured through four stages, namely planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. In implementing an ethnoscience-based curriculum, you must pay attention to the principles of integration, relevance, efficiency, effectiveness and flexibility. The learning process in an ethnoscience-based curriculum uses a contextual approach by presenting learning content in a context that is relevant to students based on their cultural and social realities. The form of learning is active learning. The forms of strategy that can be used by educators are group discussions, project based learning (PjBL), problem based learning (PBL), discovery learning, inquiry learning, and presentations to build in-depth understanding. Apart from that, cultural reflection can also be done to build students' critical reasoning.
