Abstract

This study aims implement a CTL model assisted by the GEMAS application (Educational Mathematics Game for Junior High School) to enhance the mathematical critica thinking skills of students at SMPN 4 Kota Sukabumi. The study employs a quantitative research method with a quasi-eksperimental design and a control gruoup pretest and posttest design. The population of this reseacrh consist of all grade VIII students at SMPN 4 Kota Sukabumi, with samples selected using cluster random sampling technique. The sample includes three classes: VIII E, VIII F, and VIII H, comprising a total of 84 randomly selected students. The reseacrh instruments include four test questions on mathematical critical thinking skills with validated PLSV material, as well as observation sheets. Data analysis was performed using anova with a significance level of 5%. The result indicate that the mathematical critical thinking skills of students using the CTL model assisted by the GEMAS application are better than thse using the CTL model alone, as well as th direct learning model.

Abstract

Students' creativity in science learning is still the main challenge amid the demands of 21st-century learning that emphasizes the ability to think innovatively and adaptively to technology. Low technological literacy and conventional pedagogical approaches that do not actively involve students are the two dominant obstacles in fostering students' creativity. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Gamification in Education model on the creativity of elementary school students from the level of technological literacy. Using a 2x2 factorial pseudo-experiment design, as many as 54 grade VI students from five elementary schools in Wonogiri Regency were divided into experimental and control groups based on learning models and technology literacy categories. The results showed that the gamification model significantly increased students' creativity (F = 824.7991; p = 0.000), especially in the group with high technology literacy who recorded the highest scores. Technology literacy also makes a positive contribution to creativity achievement (F = 129.9946; p = 0.000). In addition, there was a significant interaction between the learning model and technological literacy (F = 31.3306; p = 0.000), indicating that the technological readiness of students strongly influences the effectiveness of gamification.

Abstract

The ability to flexibly use mathematical representations is a crucial aspect of mathematics learning, particularly in solving problems through intra- and inter-representational transformations. However, the influence of learning styles on representational flexibility remains underexplored. This study aims to analyze students' mathematical representational flexibility in solving set problems based on Kolb's learning styles (Accommodator, Assimilator, Diverger, and Converger). A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving 12 eighth-grade students selected through a Kolb learning style questionnaire. Data were collected using a mathematical representation flexibility test, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research instruments included test sheets and interview guidelines, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings revealed that Accommodator students excel in recognition and treatment but are limited in conversion, while Assimilator students demonstrate high flexibility in conversion. Diverger students are strong in recognition, whereas Converger students show excellent initial visualization but need reinforcement in treatment. Teachers are encouraged to implement learning strategies tailored to student's learning styles to enhance their representational flexibility. Future research should explore other mathematical topics or different educational levels.

Abstract

Innovation in mathematics learning technology is a signal in the Society 5.0 era and should ideally be reflected in mathematics education, including in schools in the Pontianak City area. This research aims to analyze the innovation of mathematics learning technology in accordance with the demands of the Society 5.0 era. The research method uses a qualitative-exploratory approach. The research results show that there is still a gap between the dynamic development of technology and teachers' ability to incorporate technology into their teaching. This gap occurs due to teachers' tendency to prioritize lecture methods, note-taking, and conventional problem-solving exercises. As a result, the innovation of technology in mathematics learning has not been well implemented. In fact, the sophistication of technology through Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) promises effectiveness and efficiency in learning. That reality serves as a sign that teachers involved in mathematics education need to be motivated and their awareness of innovative capabilities needs to be enhanced, so that the mathematics teaching methods implemented become more modern. Maximizing the potential of technology in accordance with the demands of the current era. Supporting a more adaptive and interactive curriculum. Students can be more active and critical, and can interpret and apply mathematical knowledge in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of Phase A students of SDN Mojoruntut 3 Krembung District, Sidoarjo Regency through the application of the Computational Thinking approach using BAWASING (Balok Warna-Warni Gampang Asik). The research subjects were Phase A students of SDN Mojoruntut 3 with a total of 15 students and the object of research was students' critical thinking skills. The research method used This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a survey method on Phase A students at SDN Mojoruntut 3 Kec.Krembung Kab.Sidoarjo with a total of 15 students. observation. The data or information collected in this study is in the form of qualitative data. The type of data used by researchers is the level of Computational Thinking of Phase A students using BAWAGASING (Easy Asik Color Blocks). The results showed that of the 15 students tested, it was stated that 7 students were in the very good category, 5 students were in the good category, there were 3 students in the sufficient category. In the application of BAWAGASING (Colorful Blocks Easy Asik) no students were found in the low and very low categories which means 0 students. The limitations in this study are that students are only tested in one material, namely the shape and color of the building space, researchers only conduct at a limited level and do not use the effectiveness test. For other researchers, it is expected to conduct tests with colorful blocks that cover a wider range of material, for example, on the formulas of space buildings and can be tested at a wider level by comparing various kinds of phase A students in many schools and conducting effectiveness tests using research software such as SPSS and so on.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth analysis of students critical thinking skills in solving open-ended problems on the material of the system of linear equations of two variables. This type of research uses qualitative methodology. This research begins with giving a test of critical thinking ability of open-ended problem type that have passed declared valid to 20 students of class VIII A SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta which is the continued with the selection of 3 subjects representing high, medium and low critical thinking ability for the purpose of this study. The data collection techniques used open-ended question tests and interviews. Data were analyzed using critical thinking indicators that include interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The analysis results show that (1) Subjects with high critical thinking ability are capable of mastering four indicators, which include interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference on each problem; (2) Subjects with moderate critical thinking ability are only capable of mastering several indicators in each problem. For question 1, only three indicators are mastered namely analysis, evaluation and inference. In question 2, only two indicators are mastered namely interpretation and evaluation. In question 3, only three indicators are mastered namely interpretation, evaluation and inference; (3) Subjects with low critical thinking ability can only master fewer indicators in each question. In question 1, only one indicator was mastered namely inference. For question 2, only two indicators are mastered namely interpretation and analysis. Whereas in question 3 only one indicator is mastered namely interpretation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mendeskripsikan Learning Management System (LMS) berbasis digital Edukati yang sesuai kebutuhan siswa dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep materi aljabar. Materi aljabar sering dianggap sulit oleh siswa karena sifatnya yang abstrak dan kurangnya pemahaman konsep dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model 4D Thiagarajan (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara guru, angket siswa, observasi, dan validasi ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan LMS berbasis Edukati dengan fitur-fitur interaktif seperti video pembelajaran, simulasi, animasi, latihan soal interaktif dengan umpan balik otomatis, dan forum diskusi, memberikan dampak positif terhadap motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran aljabar. Validasi ahli dan uji coba pada kelompok kecil siswa menunjukkan bahwa LMS ini layak dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep aljabar siswa. Pengembangan LMS ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif, serta mengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam memahami konsep aljabar.

Abstract

This study aims to compare students' critical thinking abilities by implementing the JUCAMA learning model assisted by GEMAS for junior high school students. The research method is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental design with a Control Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The population in this study consists of all students from SMPN 12 Kota Sukabumi in the eighth grade during the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 229 students. A sample was taken from the population of all eighth-grade students at SMPN 12 Kota Sukabumi using cluster random sampling. This, the sample for this study consists of 88 eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 12 Kota Sukabumi, divided into two experimental classes and one control class. The data analysis technique used is ANOVA with a significance level of α=5%. This research employs an instrument for testing students' critical thinking abilities in the form of pretest and posttest questions, as well as non-test instruments such as observation sheets and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the JUCAMA model assisted by GEMAS is more effective than both the JUCAMA model and Discovery Learning in enhancing the critical thinking abilities of junior high school students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to compare three different learning models in improving junior high school students' mathematical problem solving abilities. These models include Numbered Heads Together (NHT) assisted by Quizizz, NHT, and direct learning. This research involved 90 class IX students of SMP PGRI 1 Cisolok who were divided into three classes, namely IX A, IXB, and IX C, using a type of quasi-experiment with a Control Group Pretest and Posttest design.  The instruments used in this research include test instruments, observation sheets, and documentation. Research findings reveal that there are differences in problem solving abilities between students who use the NHT assisted Quizizz, NHT, and direct learning models. Students with the NHT model assisted by Quizizz are better than students who use the NHT model, students with the NHT model assisted by Quizizz are better than students who use the direct learning model, students with the NHT model are better than those with the direct model.

Abstract

The aiim of this reseairch is to see the influence of self-mainaigement aibilities on students' maithemaitics leairning aichievement. This reseairch is quaisi experiment conducted ait SMP Negeri 2 Raintaiu Utairai FY 2024/2025. This type of reseairch is ex post faicto reseairch. Baised on the results of the daitai ainailysis aind discussion of reseaircher, it is concluded thait the level of self-mainaigement aibility of claiss VII students ait SMP Negeri 2 Raintaiu Utairai is in the high caitegory with ain aiveraige score of 3.67. There is ai significaint influence between the aibility to mainaige oneself on maithemaitics leairning outcomes in claiss VII students ait SMP Negeri 2 Raintaiu Utairai with ai correlaition vailue (r = 0.450) which is ait r = 0.40 – 0.60, which meains it hais ai moderaite level of relaitionship.]
