Abstract

This study aims to examine the validity and reliability of a self efficacy instrument in mathematics learning using the Rasch model. Self efficacy, which refers to an individual's belief in their ability to complete tasks, plays a crucial role in the learning process and problem-solving in mathematics. The methodology employed is a quantitative approach with a sample of 302 junior high school students in Tangerang City, selected through simple random sampling. The instrument consists of 36 statements covering 6 indicators of self efficacy, which were validated by mathematics teachers before distribution. Data analysis was conducted using Winstep software to produce consistent Rasch output. The results indicate that 30 out of 36 items in the instrument are valid and reliable, with a Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.88, indicating that the instrument has excellent reliability. These findings affirm that a valid and reliable self efficacy instrument can be used to identify students' needs and design appropriate interventions in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in the planning and learning process in mathematics subjects based on the Merdeka curriculum platform Circular Letter of the Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology Number 2093/B.B1 concerning the Notification of the Merdeka Teaching Platform for Teachers and Education Personnel in 2023 at SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda. The subjects of this study were mathematics teachers at SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda and the objects of this study were the planning and implementation of learning in mathematics subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the data analysis showed that the learning planning containing learning outcomes (CP), Learning Objectives (TP), Learning Objective Flow (ATP), teaching modules, and Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) were in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. However, in terms of learning implementation, there was a discrepancy between what was written in the planning (teaching module) and its implementation, especially in the interactive, inspiring, fun, motivating components, and providing sufficient space for students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis self-efficacy siswa SMA dalam pembelajaran matematika sebagai faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberhasilan akademik. Menggunakan model Rasch, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi tiga dimensi utama self-efficacy: magnitude, strength, dan generality, melalui 36 butir angket skala Likert empat poin yang diujikan kepada 354 siswa SMA di Jakarta. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa tiga butir pertanyaan tidak memenuhi kriteria validitas dan dihapus, menghasilkan 33 butir yang valid dan reliabel (Cronbach's alpha = 0,92; indeks reliabilitas butir = 0,99). Analisis logit mengungkapkan bahwa strength (kekuatan keyakinan diri) adalah dimensi yang paling signifikan dalam memengaruhi tingkat self-efficacy siswa. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada literatur terkait pengukuran self-efficacy dengan pendekatan Rasch. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, siswa memiliki tingkat self-efficacy yang baik (rata-rata hitung 69%), mengindikasikan siswa memiliki kepercayaan diri yang cukup tinggi dalam menghadapi tantangan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Hal ini tercermin dari kemampuan mereka untuk menyelesaikan tugas secara konsisten, meskipun tingkat kesulitannya cukup tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to explain how students' errors in understanding the concept of congruence and suitable strategies in solving these problems, one of which is by applying ethnomathematics. Data was collected using existing sources such as journals, books, and other researches to produce scientific information. The results showed several student errors in congruence including a lack of understanding of the congruence theorem, difficulty in processing mathematical images and symbols, and errors in the proof steps. Some research from the review shows that ethnomathematics can help students by providing learning experiences that are not only useful but also build connections between abstract concepts and cultural realities.

Abstract

Students' understanding of flat building geometry material at the elementary school level is still relatively low, so it is one of the crucial challenges in learning mathematics. One of the main causes of this condition is the use of an instructional approach that does not support visual learning needs and does not provide a space for active participation for students. This study aims to examine how effective the Mind Mapping learning model is in improving student learning outcomes in the material. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group approach. The research subjects consisted of two classes IV from the school. The results of the study show that the implementation of Mind Mapping is significant in improving student learning outcomes. The average post-test score in the experimental group was higher than in the control group, and the distribution of student scores in the "excellent" and "good" categories was also more dominant in the group that participated in Mind Mapping-based learning. These findings indicate that the Mind Mapping model can be an alternative in strengthening students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Although extracurricular robotics programs have been recognized as a potential approach to developing students' STEM skills, there is still a gap in understanding of the program's development and impact globally. This research aims to analyze the development of robotics-based STEM programs. This research method uses bibliometrics with a focus on publication trends, collaboration patterns, and the evolution of research topics during the 2014-2024 period. Using data from the Scopus database with 2,469 articles analyzed using VOSviewer, the study revealed three main findings: (1) a significant increase in publications on educational robotics since 2020, especially in the journal Education and Information Technologies, (2) the dominance of North American and East Asian institutions in research with an increasingly global trend of collaboration, and (3) the evolution of research focus from technical aspects to a more holistic approach to development Educational Robotics Program. These findings have important implications for the development of more effective and contextual extracurricular robotics programs to improve students' creative skills in STEM learning.

Abstract

The tanean lanjhang traditional house is a bridge between culture and geometry, as its structure is rich in geometric elements.its structure is rich in geometric elements. The aim of the research of this research is to explore architecture of tanean lanjhang, as a teaching material for geometry atgeometry teaching material in elementary school. Elementary School. This research uses qualitative research with researcher as a participant. Data collection techniques using observation, documentation, and literature study. Data analysis techniques include: reduction data reduction, data display, and verification. The research subjects were 2 tanean lanjhang houses in Bangkalan and Pamekasan. The results of this study concluded that in the tanean lanjhang traditional house, there are teaching materials teaching materials that can be used in mathematics learning materials. The implementation of this research can be applied in teaching materials, such as culture-based teaching materials, culture-based LKPD and culture-based assessments. and culture-based assessments.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) based on school assets in social arithmetic learning, and its impact on student engagement and understanding. This learning project involves the use of school gardens. where students are given the task of processing garden produce into products that can be sold, then analyzing the calculation of profit and loss. This study also involves cross-subject collaboration, especially with the subjects of Indonesian Language and Social Sciences (IPS). The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of PjBL based on school assets can increase students' motivation, engagement, and understanding of social arithmetic concepts. Cross-subject collaboration plays an important role in developing students' literacy and social entrepreneurship skills. This study also identified several challenges, such as time constraints in project management and students' difficulties in understanding the concept of calculating profit and profit margins. The implementation of PjBL contributes positively to developing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. This study concludes that the PjBL approach based on school assets and cross-subject integration is effective in improving the quality of social arithmetic learning, as well as providing contextual and meaningful learning experiences for students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the success of implementing the TTW (Think Talk Write) learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills. The type of research used is quantitative research with the method used in this research being quasi-experiment. The research results showed that the average post-test score was 69.50 with a standard deviation of 16.314 which was carried out in the experimental class using the TTW model. Meanwhile, the comparison class that used traditional learning methods obtained an average post-test score of 68.94 with a standard deviation of 17.386. So it can be concluded that classes that use the TTW (Think-Talk-Write) model have an effect on the critical thinking skills of class VIII students at Al-Washliyah Simpang Marbau Private MTS compared to students who do not use the TTW (Think-Talk-Write) model but use a learning approach traditional methods show less than optimal results in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas implementasi model probing-prompting dengan pendekatan open-ended dan mendeskripsikan mathematical higher order thinking skill peserta didik berdasar gaya belajar setelah implementasi model probing-prompting dengan pendekatan open-ended. Metode yang digunakan adalah mix methods menggunakan sequential explanatory. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan populasi peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Bobotsari dan sampel kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian kualitatif dengan mendeskripsikan mathematical higher order thinking skill berdasarkan tipe gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) pembelajaran model probing-prompting dengan pendekatan open-ended berkualitas dari segi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi hasil, dan 2) deskripsi mathematical higher order thinking skill dihasilkan sebagai berikut (a) peserta didik gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan kinestetik pada kategori tinggi mampu menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta, (b) peserta didik gaya belajar visual dan auditori pada kategori sedang belum mampu mengevaluasi, (c) peserta didik gaya belajar kinestetik kategori rendah belum mampu mengevaluasi dan mencipta.
