Abstract

Fish provides sufficient animal protein in the island region, particularly Nongsa in Batam City. However, the demand for minerals and vitamins from vegetables is not adequately met. The inefficient use of agricultural land is a major factor in the high vegetable prices in Batam City, reducing community interest in vegetable consumption. The activity aims to address this by introducing a smart indoor hydroponic system to meet vegetable needs. Targeting economically unproductive households, especially in Dasawisma Groups, the activity involves preparation, execution with socialization on the importance of consuming green vegetables and hydroponic tool training, and an evaluation of achievements. The applied technology is smart indoor hydroponic using the Internet of Things (IoT) for nutrient control. All stages of the activity have been successful, improving the group's understanding of green vegetables. Participants can independently operate the hydroponic tool with an automatic nutrient control system and cultivate various vegetables like water spinach and bok choy.

Abstract

The village of Sukamakmur has the potential for freshwater fishery resources through catfish farming. Black Soldier Fly larvae (BSFl) cultivated by the Farmer Group Tirto Bakti II can solve farmers’ dependence on factory-made feeds, alongside the underutilization due to a lack of technological input in processing by-products. This service activity aims to develop the application of fish feed technology using BSFl to meet the nutritional needs of fish, increase the market value of fish pellet products, and establish partnerships with catfish farmers and community groups in the village. The development activities involve outreach efforts to explain the production process from the materials used to the manufacturing process. The product development results indicate that the material formulation used in making fish pellets consists of a successive mixture of BSFl: bran: fish meal: tapioca flour in a ratio of 4:2:1:1 with a floating capability of approximately 5-7 minutes. Based on the service activities that have been carried out, this service can encourage continued production in the Tirto Bakti II Farmer Group as a new initiative in managing BSFl, with the impact of improving the economy through new activities and marketing.

Abstract

A company that is undergoing a transition period often faces employee work behavior that does not support the achievement of company goals. In this service partner, employees show minimal work behavior, lack of innovation, lack of energy, and lack of initiative. These emerging behaviors illustrate disengagement behavior that affects company performance. This condition makes it difficult for companies to carry out existing business strategies. The company needs a way to increase employee engagement in the process of implementing company strategies that support the achievement of company goals/performance. To overcome these problems, the service team uses the "Employee Engagement Driving Program" as an effort to optimize employee performance. The purpose of this service is to help companies to be able to encourage their employees to have high engagement, so as to improve company performance. There are three methods in this program, namely, engagement training, group coaching, and individual counseling. This service is attended by supervisors who will encourage their team to be more engaged at work and in the company. The result of this program is the supervisor's ability to create goals and action plans to advance his team and correlate with the work behavior shown. Outputs in the service are articles in the mass media, video highlights, and scientific articles.

Abstract

Utilizing videos as a learning tool is known to enhance motivation. To create more professional learning videos, understanding videography techniques is crucial. The Canva application, widely popular today, aids education by facilitating the design of engaging learning videos. Unfortunately, teachers in the Teacher Working Group (KKG) Cluster 10, Cisauk District, lack proficiency in using Canva, particularly in crafting learning videos. The community service aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of 28 participants from 9 public elementary schools and 1 private elementary school in Cisauk District, focusing on videography techniques and Canva application operation. Scheduled from September to October 2023 at SDN Suradita, the activity involves preparation, training, assignments, and concludes with monitoring and evaluation. Evaluation results indicate a 30% increase in teachers' knowledge and a 4.6% boost in insight into videography and Canva. Similarly, teachers' proficiency in crafting learning videos with Canva improves. However, limited activity time prevents teachers from applying videography techniques with complete camera devices. The next step involves testing Canva-produced learning videos to gauge their impact on student learning outcomes and motivation.

Abstract

The increasing number of vehicles every year requires parking attendants who are professional and competent in managing the entry and exit of vehicles in the parking lot so as not to impede traffic. Aside from having enough parking space, a dependable parking attendant is also required to handle parking effectively. This Community Service was held in collaboration with the Tulungagung Regency Transportation Service. The purpose of this activity is to develop competent professional staff in the parking sector by increasing knowledge, understanding, and abilities. The methods used in this activity are lectures, presentations, interactive questions, and answers, providing case examples and practice. From the results of the training carried out, there was an increase in the value of parking attendants' knowledge about safe parking by 31.41%. This shows that the material provided during the training can be accepted and applied well by the participants. It is envisaged that this activity will be carried out on a regular and continuous basis, allowing Tulungagung Regency parking attendants to keep their competence.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp is one of the important fisheries commodities in Indonesia. This is because vannamei shrimp are expensive, popularly consumed by people around the world, and can be cultured. However, vannamei aquaculture activities are still hampered by disease, less production, and lack of technology implementation. Kedung Pandan Village (Jabon, Sidoarjo, East Java) is one of the potential areas for v vannamei shrimp aquaculture which is also constrained by this issues, so many farmers have gone out of business. This community service activity aims to increase the productivity of vannamei shrimp cultivation by administering immunostimulants and probiotics. In its implementation, this community service activity collaborates with "Putri Mandiri", a group of vaname shrimp farmers in Kedung Pandan Village. This activity is carried out in the stages of preparation, implementation of activities (socialization-demonstration), and evaluation.  Socialization and demonstration activities were carried out on August 9 2023 and were enthusiastically participated by residents. Abstract

In Indonesia, the maternal mortality rate remains high, encompassing women's health concerns such as pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Efforts to mitigate this rate involve the provision of quality services spanning from pregnancy to contraception. Pregnant women experience physical and emotional changes that have the potential to cause anxiety, especially before giving birth. To overcome this problem, Nahdlatul Ulama University in collaboration with RSI A. Yani, Surabaya City held community empowerment activities in the form of educational seminars that focused on preparation for childbirth for pregnant women. The main aim of this seminar is to increase participants' understanding of childbirth preparation. The methodology used included online and offline seminars attended by 20 pregnant women. Analysis of the results of the pre-test and post-test questionnaires showed that there was a significant difference in participants' knowledge regarding childbirth preparation before and after the seminar, with a p-value <0.05. This community empowerment initiative is effective in increasing seminar participants' knowledge regarding childbirth preparation.
