Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of scientometric research from the theme of urban economic development. The analysis was carried out on 360 articles indexed by Dimension.ai. The method used is scientometric using R Bibliometrix Biblioshiny and VosViewer as processing tools. The results obtained are that this theme has begun to develop significantly in 2020 until now. Research in urban economic development is dominantly published by Chinese authors and affiliates in reputable journals. Research opportunities from urban economic development in emerging themes found the topics of city, innovation, metropolitan, planning, future, and change. This indicates that the potential research themes are in the city planning area which is “innovative”, “future-oriented” and able to “adapt the technology” in “the face of change”. Potential topics in urban economic development were found to have changed from 1964-2013 to 2014-2020 which focused on urban, data, local, contemporary, design and cities. These results can be used as input in compiling research on the theme of urban economic development research and to help researchers find novelty and sustainable impact contributions.

Abstract

The decreasing household access to health services occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic. Observing the health profile of BPS Indonesia (2021), it can be seen that there is a percentage change in the decrease in road treatment and an increase in health complaints. This study aims to present the results of estimating econometric models that explain economic and non-economic variables that can potentially change the opportunities for health demand in Indonesia. The morbidity data for each district and city on the selected island was converted into four categories of health status, namely [1] very healthy, [2] healthy, [3] moderately healthy, and [4] unhealthy. This research is deductive. We use the demand for health theory to identify variables that need to be researched and employ QLDV (qualitative limited dependent variable) to estimate them. The estimation results are conducting to the issue of efforts to increase the chances of household health levels and serial studies starting in 1972. The simulation results with marginal effect predict that the probability of demand for health will increase by 2.71 percent in conditions of inflation of food and health commodities at the level of 6 and 7 percent, children under-five immunization coverage is close to 90 percent, education average is junior high school, income allocation of less than 50 percent, and real income per capita is close to 10 million per year. Regarding the literature series, this study succeeded in showing the significance of health commodity prices which was difficult to display by previous researchers.

Abstract

Inflation is one of the economy's most important indicators and an economic challenge that is a concern for developing countries such as Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of several variables that are suspected of having an influence on inflation in Indonesia. The independent variables include the money supply, BI rate, exchange rate, Gross Domestic Product, and imports. Data were obtained from the Bank Indonesia and Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) from 2010 to 2020. This study uses the Error Correction Model (ECM) to determine the effect of the independent variables in the short and long term. The study concluded that the money supply had a positive but not significant effect in the short term, but in the long term had a significant effect on inflation. The BI and exchange rates have a significant and positive effect on long-term and short-term inflation. Gross Domestic Product does not have a significant positive effect on inflation in both the long and short term. Imports show a positive but not significant with inflation in the long and short term.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between poverty and inequality in rural and urban areas by using the Granger causality test approach. This research method uses the Granger causality test analysis tool with rural and urban areas as objects in all provinces in Indonesia with use data from thirty four province and period year from 2014 until 2020. The results of the Granger causality test for rural areas show that there is a realtionship unidirectional relationship between poverty and inequality, the relationship shows significant inequality that causes poverty in rural areas, that meaning in rural area absolute poverty happen because inequality income distribution, while the results of causality tests for urban areas show that there is no relationship at all between poverty and inequality in the urban areas. that meaning In urban areas no causality between absolute poverty and inequality income distribution, this result shows that poverty and inequality in urban areas do not contain a direct one way or two-way relationship.

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for villages aim to realize inclusive, sustainable development based on community needs. However, the improvement of road infrastructure has not been accompanied by an increase in the quality of village development, as evidenced by the ratio of very underdeveloped and underdeveloped villages being greater than that of advanced or independent villages. This research aims to analyze the influence of social aspects (health, education, access to sanitation, access to the internet), economic aspects (financial services and insurance, road infrastructure), and ecological aspects (air quality, disaster risk) on the Village Development Index in Indonesia for the years 2021-2023. The research method employs panel data regression analysis across 31 provinces in Indonesia. Research findings indicate that education, sanitation access, internet access, and financial services and insurance have a significantly positive impact, while road infrastructure and disaster risk have a significantly negative impact on the Village Development Index in Indonesia. This implies that both local and central governments need to promote improvements in access to education in particular, ensure the development and maintenance of adequate sanitation facilities, expand internet access, encourage enhancements in microfinance services, improve access to and quality of roads, and enhance anticipation or mitigation of natural disasters in rural areas.

Abstract

Roads are strategic infrastructure that support connectivity and regional development. The deterioration of road quality can hinder mobility and suppress economic activity. This study analyzes the factors affecting road quality, particularly those related to road damage, by emphasizing the role of the Special Allocation Fund (DAK), institutional quality measured through the democracy index and corruption cases, and political competition. A quantitative approach using panel data regression was applied to 33 provinces in Indonesia over the 2021–2023 period. The visualization results reveal disparities in road quality between Java and non-Java regions. Statistical tests show that DAK and institutional quality do not have a significant effect on road quality. Conversely, political competition has a significant effect, indicating that healthy political competition promotes accountability and efficiency in infrastructure management. The study also finds that the control variables—vehicle volume and per capita income—have a positive and significant relationship with the ratio of damaged roads. The implications of this study highlight the need to improve Indonesia’s road infrastructure quality by strengthening political competition and enhancing budget governance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence poverty levels in provinces in Indonesia using panel data regression. This study uses secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The data used includes variables such as provincial poverty rate (TKP), gross regional product per capita (PPK), open unemployment rate (TPT), and average length of schooling (RLS). The results of the analysis show that the fixed effect model is the most appropriate model for this data, as confirmed by the Chow test and the Hausman test. RLS has a negative and significant effect on poverty rates, indicating that increased education correlates with a decrease in poverty. Meanwhile, TPT has a positive but insignificant effect at the 5% level, although it is close to significant at the 10% level. This suggests that increased unemployment tends to increase poverty. PPK has a negative but insignificant effect on poverty levels, reflecting the phenomenon of “growth without justice” where the benefits of growth are not felt equally by all segments of society. This model has a very high level of suitability, with an R-squared value of 0.996810, which means that 99.68% of the variation in poverty levels can be explained by the independent variables

Abstract

The Public Service Agency policy began to be implemented in Indonesia across hospitals, educational institutions, and airports following the enactment of Law No. 17/2003 on State Finance and Law No. 1/2004 on State Treasury. However, research examining BLU policy within the airport sector remains limited, with existing studies predominantly focusing on hospitals and educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the implementation process of the Public Service Agency policy at ten regional airports in Indonesia over the period 2016–2024 by examining the policy formulation, its application in airport operations, and airport performance using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Tobit regression approaches. Based on the efficiency analysis using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach, the Public Service Agency policy tends to be implemented at regional airports that are already efficient, although there is a tendency for airport performance to decline after the policy’s is implemented. According to the results of the Tobit Regression analysis, variables that significantly influence the efficiency scores of airports include the distance of the airport from the city center and regional GDP per capita. These findings provide an evaluative tool for assessing the performance of regional airports in Indonesia in implementing the BLU policy

Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has long been identified in the empirical literature as a potential contributor to economic growth and is considered an important source of capital in both developing and developed countries. This study aims to identify and analyze the determinants of FDI in G-20 countries, taking into account variables in economic, socio-political, and institutional contexts. This research offers a more comprehensive approach by integrating economic, socio-political, and institutional dimensions into a single panel analysis model. This research contributes to the literature through a more holistic understanding of the factors influencing FDI flows in G-20 countries. Based on the analysis of the data regression panel, results were found that any increase in the labor force and political stability of G-20 member countries will encourage an increase in the value of FDI in those countries. Meanwhile, interest rates, economic scale, and financial development do not show a significant influence on FDI in G-20 countries. The findings of this study provide important insights for policymakers in G-20 countries in developing strategies to increase FDI attractiveness by taking into account the key factors that have been identified. These results can also assist international investors in making more informed decisions related to the location of their investments, taking into account the dominant economic aspects in attracting FDI

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of human resource capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Maluku Regency through a financial literacy approach as a strategy to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, with a stratified random sampling technique. This study maps the financial literacy status of MSMEs and analyzes its relationship to improving management capacity and business sustainability to support the achievement of the SDGs. The results show that low levels of financial literacy in human resources are a major obstacle to efficient business management and delay the achievement of national sustainable development goals. Therefore, strengthening human resource capacity based on financial literacy is essential as a strategic intervention that not only increases the competitiveness of MSMEs but also directly contributes to the achievement of SDGs indicators, particularly in the areas of financial inclusion, poverty reduction, and sustainable local economic growth
