Abstract

Propionibacterium acnes adalah bakteri utama penyebab timbulnya jerawat. Salah satu bahan alam yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai antibakteri adalah ekstrak kering rimpang kunyit (Curcuma domestica Val.) karena memiliki kandungan senyawa kurkumin dan minyak atsiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi formulasi gel ekstrak kering rimpang kunyit terhadap stabilitas fisik dan aktivitas antibakterinya pada Propionibacterium acnes ATCC 11827 dengan metode sumuran. Ekstrak kering rimpang kunyit diformulasi dalam bentuk gel dengan dua konsentrasi yaitu F1 (35%) dan F2 (45%). Gel adalah sistem semipadat terdiri dari suspensi yang dibuat dari partikel anorganik yang kecil atau molekul organik yang besar, terpenetrasi oleh suatu cairan. Hasil evaluasi selama 8 minggu penyimpanan F1 (35%) memiliki stabilitas fisik yang lebih baik dibandingkan F2 (45%) pada pemeriksaan organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya lekat, uji daya sebar, uji iritasi dan uji stabilitas dengan metode sentrifugasi. Hasil uji statistik kruskal wallis terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05) antar formula terhadap diameter zona hambat bakteri, dimana F2 (45%) memberikan diameter hambat yang paling besar yaitu 19,82±0,27 mm dengan kategori daya hambat kuat.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) can have an impact on quality of life which affects physical, mental health, functional status, and independence. The high prevalence of CKD will have an impact on the quality of life. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the characteristics of CKD patients on the utility index score and to determine the dimensional correlation to the utility value measured using the SF-6D questionnaire. The study was conducted with an observational approach using a cross-sectional design in the CKD population in the city of Pekanbaru. The SF-6D questionnaire was administered to 122 patients to measure utility index scores. The difference in utility index scores based on patient characteristics was tested using Mann Whitney and Kruskal Wallis, while the correlation between domains and utility scores was used Pearson Correlation 0.61 ± 0.07. Score utility measured using the SF-6D instrument can distinguish utility values ​​based on education and comorbidities. There is a strong correlation (> 0.797) between vitality and mental domains with the SF-6D utility index.

Abstract

Blush On is a cosmetic preparation that applies color to the cheek with an artistic touch so that it it can enhance the aesthetics of Make up. One of the natural ingridients that can used as a dye is Red Dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus L.) because they contain the pigments betasianin that function as a color pigment. The Purpose of this study was to determine wheter the dry extract of red dragon fruit can be use as dye in blush on stick form and to evaluate the blush on form.The Blush on formula made using dyes from the dry extract of red dragon fruit with different concentration of 0%, 10%, 15% and 20% with additional ingridients of glycerin, zinc oxide, lanolin, isopropyl myristate, sodium metabisulfite, carnauba wax, talc and oleum rosae. The evaluation of product included organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pigment stability test, sotarge stability test, pH test, polish test, crack test, hedonic test and irritation test. All formulas have met the requirements of the homogeneity test, pH test, polish test and crack test. Organoleptic test showed the blush preparation has the specific odor of oleum rosae and the the blush has a solid stick. The blush with a concentration of 0% is white, the blush with a concentration of 10% is pink, the blush with a concentration of 15% is light purplish red, the blush with a concentration of 20% is dark purplish red. For F1 (10%), F2 (15%) and F3 (20%) preparations were only stable until week 5 and were unstable to light. The result of the irritation test showed that the blush preparation did not show any irritation reactions. The result of the hedonic test showed that F3 (20%) was the most preferred by the panelists

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, the world was shocked by the outbreak of a new virus, The new type of Corona Virus (SARS-CoV-2) and the disease is called Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). It is known that the origin of this virus originated in Wuhan, China, was discovered at the end of 2019. Until now, it has been confirmed that there are 65 countries that have contracted this virus (WHO data March 1, 2020). Among all these countries, Indonesia is one of the countries that is also affected or infected by the Corona virus outbreak. As of April 2020, more than 1000 people have died according to data recorded at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. This is of course a special concern for all circles. This activity aims to provide education about the meaning and dangers of COVID-19 and distribute free masks to the public. The method of implementing this activity is by providing health education about COVID-19 and distributing protective masks for free. People who received education and received masks for free seemed enthusiastic about the service activities being held, it was seen from the seriousness of the community in listening to the material and reading the educational brochures provided.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the highest infectious diseases in Indonesia that can cause death. The public knowledge about the prevention and control of ARI is inadequate, so prevention efforts are needed to reduce the transmission of this infection disease. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of the people of Gunung Bungsu Village, Kec. XIII Koto Kampar on preventing the transmission of ARIs through preventive measures by providing education on how to use masks and proper ethics when coughing/sneezing. The method used was an interactive and participatory model by involving the community at Gunung Bungsu Village, Kec. XIII Koto Kampar. This socialization activity increased the community knowledge, showed by the enthusiasm of community at Gunung Bungsu Village, Kec. XIII Koto Kampar who actively interacts through the questions they ask to increase their understanding of ARI. Beside that, the results of the questionnaire assessment showed that the community was satisfy with the socialization of ARI prevention. This service can be useful for the prevention and control of ARI around the neighborhood.

Abstract

Stroke iskemik merupakan suatu gejala klinis yang disebabkan oleh suplai darah yang tidak memadai ke otak. Cost of Illness (COI) dapat digunakan untuk menghitung biaya penyakit stroke iskemik pada suatu periode. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh karakteristik pasien terhadap biaya riil; dan mengetahui komponen biaya, rata-rata biaya, dan total biaya penyakit pasien.Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian analitik non-eksperimental dengan pendekatan cross sectional study berdasarkan perspektif rumah sakit dengan pendekatan bottom up. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan melihat rekam medik pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi selama periode Oktober 2014-September 2015 di Rumah Sakit Bethesda Yogyakarta. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari 145 pasien rawat inap dan 83 pasien rawat jalan. Variabel dalam penelitian ini yaitu variabel terikat adalah total biaya penyakit, dan variabel bebas adalah usia, jenis kelamin, komorbid, komplikasi, lama dan kelas rawat inap. Analisis data menggunakan mann-whitney, kruskal-wallis, dan regression linier.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pasien rawat jalan tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada variabel usia dan jenis kelamin terhadap total biaya riil (p>0,05). Pada pasien rawat inap terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada variabel lama dan kelas perawatan terhadap total biaya riil(p<0,05). Total biaya penyakit stroke iskemik berdasarkan perspektif Rumah Sakit Bethesda Yogyakarta dalam periode 1 tahun dengan metode pembayaran Fee for Service sebesar Rp. 1.528.343.158 yang merupakan penjumlahan dari total biaya riil pasien rawat jalan sebesar Rp. 51.562.900 dengan rata-rata Rp. 621.240 dan total biaya riil pasien rawat inap sebesar Rp. 1.476.780.258 dengan rata-rata Rp. 10.184.691. Biaya komponen terbesar terdapat pada kelompok biaya obat dan barang medik.Kata kunci: COI, stroke iskemik, Bethesda

Abstract

Bilimbi fruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L) has a antibacterial activity. Ethanol extract of bilimbi fruit is a potentially clear up acne which is caused bybacterium Propionibacterium acnes. This research is conducted to determine the effect of HPMC of bilimbi fruit ethanol extract gel on physicalnature and the activity of P. acnes. Bilimbi fruit liquid extract is obtained using maceration method with ethanol 80%. It is evaporated, the liquidextract becomes condensed. This research use three variants each contains 5,0%; 7,0%; and 9,0% of basic of HPMC. The test of organoleptic,homogenity, pH, and gel physical nature that embody adhesion test, scatter test, viscosity test are conducted on the gel. Antibacterial activity test wasconducted using diffusion method (secara sumuran). The antibacterial activity was measured by the size of its diameter of inhibitory zone which wasform in the media. The result data of physical nature of gel is analyzed by linear correlation of regression. Meanwhile, the result data of antibacterialactivity test was analyzed by statistical test using the method of ANOVA. The result of this research shows that when the level of HPMC isincreasing, its adhesion and its viscosity is getting tighter. Analytical result statistically shows that the antibacterial activity of the gel has the sameinhibitory zone with extract and peroxide benzoyl.

Abstract

Mefenamic acid is one of the drugs of choice for analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic treatments. This drug is in the form of caplets, capsules and suspensions. The community still considers that drugs with branded generic names are more qualified than generic drugs with logos. This study aims to evaluate the physical properties of branded generic mefenamic acid caplets and branded generics in the Tampan District of Pekanbaru City. Sampling was carried out from 2 generic products bearing the logo (G1 and G2) and 2 branded generic products (M1 and M2). The results of the physical properties evaluation of mefenamic acid caplets obtained were weight diversity test with percent weight in the range of 98.017-101.491%; size uniformity test which has a thickness in the range of 0.440-0.545 cm and a diameter range of 0.682-0.828 cm; hardness test has a range of 8.8-11.1 kg/cm2; fragility test with a range of 0.024-0.316%; endurance test ranges from 0.008 to 0.200%; and disintegration time test which ranges from 3 minutes 58 seconds to 19 minutes 55 seconds. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the evaluation of the physical properties of generic mefenamic acid caplets with branded and generic branded brands has fulfilled the physical properties requirements listed in the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia Edition IV and V.

Abstract

The hand hygiene is compulsory to keep maintain. It is one of the important things to prevent the diseases that caused by microorganisms infection or the other infectious diseases, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the hand sanitizer (HS) products are used alcohol as an antibacterial. The right way to reduce the use of HS-containing alcohol is by replacing them with using the active substances derived from herbal plant extracts, one of it is the star fruit (BBW). Flavonoid is one of the component in BBW. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of a good combination of Carbopol 940 base and HPMC on the physical properties of HS BBW gel preparations. The formulation of hand sanitizer gel was used a combination of Carbopol 940 and HPMC with the variation concentrations of 0.5%; 0.75%; 1% and 0.25%; 0.5%; 0.75%. Evaluation of the physical properties of the gel preparation was determined based on the observations of consistency, scent, colour, pH, homogeneity, dispersibility, and physical stability using the freeze and thaw method for 6 storage cycles at 4°C and 45°C. The results shown that the variations concentration of gelling agents affect pH and dispersion. The higher the concentration of the gelling agent, the lower pH value and dispersion. This can be seen in each formula in the first week with pH 6.31, 6.13, and 5.62, and spreadability of 6.2, 5.8, and 5.6. Tests on the fourth week in a row with pH of 5.53, 5.49, and 5.23 and a spread of 5.2, 5.0, and 4.5. Variations in the concentration of HPMC and Carbopol was not affected to the organoleptic, homogeneity, and also the stability.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Prevalensi Covid-19 yang muncul pada akhir 2019 terus meningkat hingga saat ini dan masih dikategorikan sebagai pandemi. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan mulai dari penerapan protokol kesehatan, mengonsumsi vitamin, hingga melakukan aktivitas dari rumah. Upaya tersebut harus dilakukan oleh setiap individu untuk menekan dan memutus rantai penyebaran virus ini. Oleh karena itu perlu diberikan penyuluhan dengan tujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang Covid-19 serta nutrisi yang diperlukan selama pandemi. Kegiatan ini diikuti sebanyak 30 responden di Kecamatan Tampan, Pekanbaru dengan menggunakan media leaflet. Pada saat pemberian informasi juga diberikan masker serta vitamin C. Vitamin dapat berfungsi sebagai antioksidan dan digunakan untuk meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh selama pandemi. Berdasarkan kegiatan, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat yang dibuktikan dengan nilai rerata pre-test 44,04 menjadi 92,87 pada saat post-test. Disarankan kedepannya untuk melakukan pengabdian dengan ruang lingkup yang lebih besar. Kata Kunci: Covid-19, Nutrisi, Pengetahuan ABSTRACT The prevalence of Covid-19 which emerged at the end of 2019 continues to increase until now and is still categorized as a pandemic. Various efforts have been made, starting from implementing health protocols, vitamins consumptions, and activities or work from home (WFH). These efforts must be made by each individual to suppress and break the chain of infection stopping covid-19. Therefore, it is necessary to provide counseling with the aim of increasing public awareness and knowledge about Covid-19 and the nutrition needed during the pandemic. This activity was attended by 30 respondents in Tampan District, Pekanbaru using leaflet media. At the time of providing information, masks and vitamin C were also given. Vitamins can function as antioxidants and are used to increase body resistance during a pandemic. Based on the activity, there was an increase in public knowledge as evidenced by the mean value of the pre-test from 44.04 to 92.87 at the time of the post-test. It is recommended in the future to do service with a larger scope. Keywords: covid-19, nutrition, knowledge
