Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang nilai nasionalisme yang terkandung pada Film Susi Susanti Love All. Film ini mengisahkan perjuangan Susi Susanti yang mengharumkan nama Indonesia di pentas dunia melalui bulutangkis. Penelitian ini berfokus pada dialog dan adegan melalui plot film Susi Susanti Love All. Penekanan film ini terletak pada jiwa nasionalisme Susi Susanti meskipun belum resmi sebagai warga negara Indonesia. Dia rela berkorban demi kehormatan negaranya. Semangat nasionalisme lahir dari keringat di bidang olahraga. Sedangkan pada film-film lain, biasanya nasionalisme ditunjukkan melalui sebuah maha karya. Film merupakan sarana penyampaian pesan yang mengandung makna yang ditujukan kepada penonton. Penyampaian pesan pada film dapat diketahui melalui alur cerita yang dibangun oleh sutradara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan prinsip-prinsip nasionalisme dalam narasi cerita Film Susi Susanti Love All melalui analisis naratif pada cerita awal, tengah, dan akhir. Metode penelitian menggunakan data kualitatif dengan analisis naratif model Tzevetan Todorov. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan prinisp-prinsip nasionalisme yang terkandung pada cerita awal adalah prestasi dan kesatuan/persatuan. Kemudian prinsip nasionalisme pada cerita tengah terkait kehormatan dan kesamaan. Sedangkan prinsip nasionalisme pada cerita akhir adalah kesamaan, kepribadian, dan kehormatan.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penyelenggaraan komunikasi organisasi yang mengadopsi kearifan lokal dalam pelayanan publik masih sangat minim. Kearifan lokal menjadi salah satu bahasan yang menarik jika diadopsi dalam proses interaksi komunikasi organisasi. Meskipun dalam implementasinya memang bukan sesuatu yang mudah dilakukan. Dalam praktiknya hal tersebut dapat meningkatkan kinerja organisasi baik dalam memaksimalkan budaya organisasi maupun dalam meningkatkan pelayanan publik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis implementasi komunikasi organisasi berbasis kearifan lokal dalam pelayanan publik pada Dinas Penanaman Modal dan Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu (DPMPTSP) Kabupaten Banggai Laut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) empat bentuk kearifan lokal Banggai, yaitu moloyos, molios, maamis, dan monondok yang dimplementasikan dalam budaya organisasi DPMPTSP Kabupaten Banggai Laut merupakan turunan dari falsafah tuu-tuu, (2) dalam implementasinya, komunikasi organisasi berbasis kearifan lokal membentuk budaya organisasi yang lebih baik dan memaksimalkan kerja pelayanan publik sebagaimana hal itu dirasakan langsung oleh masyarakat yang menggunakan jasa layanan pada DPMPTSP Kabupaten Banggai Laut, dan (3) penyebaran pesan yang sering dilakukan adalah penyebaran secara serentak. Adapun arah arus informasi yang lebih banyak digunakan adalah komunikasi ke bawah dan komunikasi ke atas. Kemudian terdapat pula komunikasi horizontal dan komunikasi lintas saluran. Kata kunci: komunikasi organisasi, budaya organisasi, kearifan lokal, pelayanan publik Abstract. In public service, the implementation of organizational communication that adopts local wisdom is still very limited. Although, local wisdom becomes one of the most interesting topics if it is adopted in the process of organizational communication. The implementation of local wisdom values is not something that is easy to do. However, It can actually enhance organizational performance by maximizing organizational culture and improving the public service process. This study investigates the implementation of organizational communication based on local wisdom in public service at the Investment and One Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) of Banggai Laut Regency. This study uses qualitative research methods through an ethnographic communication approach by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of this study demonstrate that (1) the organizational culture of DPMPTSP of Banggai Laut Regency, which adopted four forms of Banggai local wisdom, including moloyos, molios, maamis, and monondok, is derived from the philosophy of Tuu-tuu. (2) Implementation of Organizational communication based on local wisdom can create a better organizational culture and simulate the work of public services as it is perceived by the clients of DPMPTSP Banggai Laut Regency. (3) The dissemination of messages that is often carried out is simultaneous dissemination. The direction of information flow that is more widely used is downward communication rather than upward communication. Then, there is also horizontal communication and diagonal communication. Abstract

This study looks into how TikTok mediated the activities of its users in exploring fashion hobbies, particularly in the street event known as Citayam Fashion Week (CFW).  Previous studies looked into TikTok as a social media used for various purposes, including health information platforms, promotion channels, and education resources. This study aims to provide a distinct point of view of TikTok, specifically in the Indonesian context, by looking into TikTok as a social space for people from diverse backgrounds. Further, this study also will investigate how TikTok mediated its users to express their interests or hobbies, and how the fact will impact their social life. In doing so, I employ qualitative content analysis to examine online materials related to CFW. It includes videos uploaded on online platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, or mainstream media outlets. This study found that TikTok dissolves the boundaries between social classes. TikTok users from different backgrounds could express their ideas without the necessity of specific requirements. In addition, TikTok also economically affects people involved in its content, either actors on the TikTok video or people behind the scenes.

Abstract

Polri as a law enforcement agency has a role as a community protection agency and should have a positive reputation in society. However, the fact is that Polri's reputation has suffered a significant decline after the Kanjuruhan tragedy. A number of public opinions, especially on social media, ultimately cornered the Police so that it had a negative impact on the existence of the Police's reputation. Police Public Relations utilizes Twitter social media to restore reputation after the Kanjuruhan tragedy. This study aims to analyze the discourse developed by Polri Public Relations as a crisis management strategy. This research is a descriptive study using qualitative methods and using the theoretical approach of critical discourse analysis proposed by Van Dijk. The results of the study show that the public relations discourse of the National Police through Twitter social media shows an image restoration strategy of denying it by blaming other parties. This is reflected in the text which focuses on describing the parties involved as the trigger for the Kanjuruhan tragedy. Accuracy in choosing a strategy can strengthen organizational attitudes and be able to change public opinion from negative and antipathy to positive and sympathy.

Abstract

In the past, radio was a tool of struggle that was able to inform news to all corners of Indonesia. Even though this broadcasting tool has become a second alternative due to the impact of the internet, many communities still use it. In Aceh there are radio stations that actively inform election updates and politicians take advantage of this opportunity. This research explains the existence of radio in the implementation of elections both as an educational and campaign media. This study focuses on the role of radio in Aceh in the implementation of elections which ultimately confirms the existence of radio in supporting all stages of the election. The approach used is a case study approach based on field data obtained by researchers. This research involved two local private radio stations and one public radio station, RRI. The research results show that radio has a role as a supporting media for elections by presenting accurate and balanced information so as to reduce hoax issues that have the potential to arise during the election period. Furthermore, radio also acts as a bridge between prospective voters and legislative candidates and political parties. Radio plays a role in strengthening democracy in Aceh. The existence of radio is maintained in the current disruptive era because radio stations in Aceh are converging media from conventional to digital by utilizing technology and digital media platforms. In this way, the existence of radio remains relevant and contributes to providing content that is local, current and useful for the people of Aceh.

Abstract

The Instagram platform is a medium used to share information from its users. The information shared in each account has its own characteristics and goals. The @hidupdidesa_ account is one of the Instagram accounts that uses representations of village life as its hallmark. Natural life in the village with agricultural characteristics is the main thing displayed in every @hidupdidesa_ content. Purpose: This research aims to analyze the commodification of village life on the @hidupdidesa_ Instagram account through Roland Barthes semiotic analysis. Methods: : In dissecting the commodification used by the @hidupdidesa_ Instagram account, Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method is used. Conclusion: Commodification is an effort used to create a commodity, which then leads to the desire for profit. The @hidupdidesa_ account on the Instagram platform makes the arena of village life a form of content commodification. In @hidupdidesa_ uploads, life in the village is represented as comfortable, fertile, beautiful, and far from urban modernization. Implications: Based on Roland Barthes analysis of signifiers and signs (semiotics), it is found that there are various messages about unusual rural life on @hidupdidesa_ Instagram content, where the messages constructed in rural life lead to the meaning of messages about sustainable life. The meaning of the sustainable life message is illustrated in the representation of cooking from scratch, Do It Yourself, and environmentally lifestyles.

Abstract

Temanggung Regency, as an upstream area, has critical land, so the Regional Government has launched a Sustainable Soil and Water Conservation Program. The purpose of the audit communication for this socialization program is to diagnose the challenges and barriers that occur in the socialization process of a sustainable soil and water conservation program in Temanggung Regency and provide recommendations for future socialization. This research employs a concurrent embedded mixed methods design, with qualitative methodology as the primary method and quantitative methodology as the secondary method, in a proportion of 80% qualitative and 20% quantitative. Based on the results of the diagnosis, it is known that there is interference, which is a factor inhibiting the success of the socialization carried out in each observation unit. Several recommendations were made based on the audit that had been carried out. Namely, communicators must improve interpersonal communication abilities/skills and implement interactive communication to create more effective two-way communication. The context of the socialization implementation is carried out at the right time to support the effectiveness of the message's performance. Messages are packaged in clear, straightforward, intact, and simple language but must be supplemented with content according to program implementation instructions. The frequency needs to be increased, and a unique account for the conservation program is created. Written and bureaucratic communication must be maintained, but the effectiveness of the communication network needs to be increased through WhatsApp groups and other media. It is necessary to evaluate community feedback.

Abstract

The issue of extending the President's term of office to three terms has become very strong along with the issue of postponing the 2024 Election circulating in the community, which has then invited controversy in society and also massive coverage in the mass media, including hot discussions on social media. The media has a big role to influence public attitudes. So, through the Inoculation theory, we attempt to examine explanatively the issue of extending the presidential term of office in the media on public attitudes using a quantitative approach. Based on the research results, it shows that there is an influence between the issue of extending the President's term of office and postponing the 2024 Election on public attitudes which show disapproval of these two issues. The public believes that extending the presidential term of office and postponing elections is a violation of the constitution and also creates a sense of distrust among respondents towards the current government. Apart from that, respondents also linked the two issues circulating in the mass media and online media to the interests of IKN and also considered that the government was not functioning well in accordance with the mandate of the constitution.

Abstract

This research examines the efforts of librarians with visual disabilities to remove negative stigma from society. Research focus on the use of technological media by librarians with visual disabilities to eliminate the negative stigma towards blind people who are considered unable to use technological media. Previous studies agree that every librarian's activities require visual support in all their work. The use of technological media by librarians with disabilities is a social construction of technology as an effort to change social relations in society. This research aims to find out how the use of technological media by librarians with visual disabilities in eliminating the negative stigma. This research uses a qualitative methodology with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews. The data obtained is explained through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and verification. Librarians with visual disabilities have the skills to operate technological media with the help of special software for blind people. Skills in using technological media are demonstrated to users who come to the library. Skills in using technological media supported by special software are demonstrated by blind librarians to users with the aim of changing the negative stigma that assumes that people with disabilities cannot use technological media in their activities. The use of technological media by librarians with disabilities is a socio-technological construction and an adaptation strategy to change their relationship with the social environment.

Abstract

This research examines Disney's propaganda of the LGBT inclusivity through Strange World (2022) movie. Previous researchers agree that Disney has several times included propaganda of certain values in its films, such as feminism, racial issues, and world wars. Based on this, we assume that Disney also propagates the value of LGBT inclusivity that encourages acceptance of LGBT people at large, from their idealism to their communities. This research explores how Disney incorporates the value of LGBT inclusivity in the movie Strange World (2022) using a descriptive qualitative approach. This approach was chosen because it is able to present an in-depth understanding of LGBT representation in Strange World (2022). The primary data in this research is the film Strange World (2022) which is analyzed using Edo Kuckartz's qualitative content analysis (QCA) technique. The results showed that the LGBT campaign was carried out in the film Strange World (2022) by displaying LGBT representation manifestly and latently. The representation is shown through the homosexual pairing of the main character, Ethan Clade and Diazo, as well as the transvestite character, Caspian. Another form of the campaign is shown through the "peer group support" scene category that shows acceptance and support for the homosexual relationship of Ethan and Diazo.
